Easter Bunny In the Carrot Patch Card

Easter will be here before we know it so it’s time to get going on all things Easter and Spring! This Easter Bunny in the Carrot Patch Card is mostly a copy of a sample in the Spring Mini Catalog on page 52. Sometimes when I’m not quite sure where I want to start with a new stamp set, I look at the samples in the Stampin’ Up! catalog and see if I want to copy something or get some inspiration for my own ideas. My card is mostly the same with a few changes.

Now I will warn you, as cute as this card is, it took some work! It’s like buying the whole Suite of Christmas products to make a spectacular card and then realizing you can’t make 50 of those! Not that I had the intention of making multiples of this card design necessarily, I’m just saying there was a lot of detail work. Which is okay lots of times when you really want to just enjoy a good stamping project!

For my card, I changed the colors a little bit. I used Balmy Blue for the card base. Then I found this pattern that looks like wicker in the Regency Park Designer Series Paper, on “the other side” as I like to say, of the floral pattern. I thought a wicker design would go well with an Easter bunny since wicker Easter baskets are what we use!

The Petal Pink frame is diecut with the oval frame in the Framed Florets Dies. (These should be back in stock around March 27.) I had also cut a Basic White oval frame in case I wanted to use white instead but I chose the pink frame and used the white as the insert in the frame. I stamped several butterflies for the background in Fresh Freesia ink.

The Easter Bunny Stamp Set is really a cute one to have for Easter or spring or of course babies! Bunnies are always a cute theme for baby cards and baby projects! The bunny is stamped in Memento ink and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. Don’t forget about the Natural Tones Blends to use for animals. I used #500 for most of the bunny but then added a darker brown (I forget which one!) for the shading. The ears of course have some Petal Pink in them and the nose is a bright Polished Pink! Maybe a little too bright but that’s okay! The designer paper, the frame, the insert, and the bunny are all just glued down flat on the card.

For the grass, I cut strips of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and stamped them with the grass stamp in the Easter Bunny Stamp Set. There are no dies to cut out the strips of grass but I just zigzagged my scissors to cut imperfectly up and down around the tops of the blades of grass. When I glued these down I only put glue along the bottom edge so the top edge would be open. I needed to stick the carrots down into the grass. I first stamped five carrots and colored them with Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green Blends. I cut these out by hand and glued them down into the grass. But I didn’t like the way I placed them so I made two more carrots and added those. Now I like them! The bunny even gets to hold one in his paws!

For the greeting, I stamped “Happy Easter” in Soft Suede ink on a little strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock. Since it is rather large, I cut it apart sort of like the greeting on the card in the catalog. But when I looked closely at the catalog sample, I saw that there was a post behind those words! It really is a little wooden sign in the grass! So I cut a very narrow piece of Crumb Cake, glued that down, and then popped up the words on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I even added a dot of Soft Suede marker on the top of each word to look like those boards were nailed onto the post!

As I said, this project did have a lot of steps in it, and if you hate to cut out anything, you might not enjoy this project! But the bunny and the carrots are so cute, I don’t know how you could resist!

Unfortunately, the Easter Bunny Punch is backordered until May which is sad! However, if you stamp the one bunny that fits the punch, it will be easy enough to cut out by hand.

Start thinking about bunnies, eggs, baskets, and flowers, and let’s get ready for Easter!

Encircled In Friendship Easter Card

Encircled In Friendship Easter Card

This Encircled In Friendship Bundle of stamp set and dies was one of the prettiest sets, I thought, yet I didn’t use it quite enough and now it is retiring in May. The stamp set is already gone, but the Encircled in Beauty Dies are still available as I write this and that’s really the main thing you need to make a card similar to my Encircled in Friendship Easter Card. The flowers in the center were in the stamp set, but you can stamp any flowers, image, or greeting to put in the center of the beautiful die.

The card base is Basic White with a layer of Polished Pink, one of the current In Colors. These colors are sticking around for another year! I decided to emboss the Polished Pink with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. This folder is retiring on May 2 and I recommend it as a pretty and useful folder for a background with a little texture you can use frequently. Lucky for you, it is also discounted on the Last Chance Products Sale! So check it out!

The fancy circle die is cut from Basic White with one of the Encircled in Beauty Dies. For the center portion, I stamped the flowers in the Encircled in Friendship Stamp Set (retired) in Polished Pink. You could also stamp them in Memento Ink or Stazon and color them in with Stampin’ Blends markers or any coloring tool. I thought I would like to have a special layer behind this floral circle, so I die cut with a Layering Circles die that was just a little bit smaller than the center of the die and then a larger circle out of Gold Foil. My fancy die was already cut out or I could have used the center of it.

The greeting, in the Celebrating You Stamp Set, was also stamped in Polished Pink ink and die cut with this cute die in the Meadows Dies. I had also die cut a little banner die in the Tasteful Labels Dies (another product I use frequently and will miss when it retires but it is discounted now!) to see which shape greeting I would like best with the fancy die cut above. I thought the Meadows Die would be too much but I liked it!

For a finishing touch, I tied a bow with the White 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon. When I pulled this ribbon out to try, I wasn’t sure it would work but once I placed the bow under the circle I loved how it looked! Being sheer is didn’t overpower the front of the card but I thought the pink glitter in the ribbon was perfect for an Easter card. This wouldn’t have to be an Easter card. The greeting on the front is generic so could be for almost anything, but on the inside, I stamped “Happy Easter” from the same Celebrating You Stamp Set.

Here’s another card I made with this Bundle. On that card, I used another fancy die as a layer under the stamped flowers, so you can use one or more of the pretty dies!

If you already own the Encircled in Beauty Dies, make some cards with the fancy dies. I would recommend using Adhesive Sheets on the back of your paper before die-cutting to make gluing them down easier. Otherwise, just use teeny tiny dots of Liquid Glue on the back, preferably using your Silicone Craft Sheet to keep the glue off everything else. If you don’t already own these pretty dies, take a look at them in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog on pages 70 and 169. Use this Encircled in Friendship Easter Card for Easter or for other special occasions!

A Trio of Punch Art Bunnies Easter Card

Trio of Punch Art Bunnies Easter Card

I saw this idea for the punch art bunnies on our Demonstrator group on Facebook but I think I saw the same idea somewhere else online too recently. I thought it was so clever, I went straight for my punches and started making bunnies which turned into this A Trio of Punch Art Bunnies Easter Card!

This “punch art” as we often call something created using different punches that are different than what the punch is meant to be. I don’t know how people come up with these creative ideas, but they do! And the rest of us can copy!

To make these cute little bunnies, just use the Strawberry Builder Punch and the Ladybug Builder Punch. Punch the strawberry shape to make the bunny head. Punch the Ladybug wings to make the bunny ears! I left them attached but I suppose you could cut them apart if you wanted the ears to have different spacing. That’s all there is to it! Isn’t that a fantastic punching idea?!

Strawberry and Ladybug Punches For Bunny

I colored in the pink on the ears with the Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. I used the Light Petal Pink color to color some cheeks on the bunnies. The faces are just drawn on with the pointy tip of the Basic Black Marker.

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock with a Petal Pink layer. I embossed that layer with the Gingham Embossing Folder. The background needed some texture and this folder is good for some generic texture! But it also kind of reminded me of the weaving on an Easter basket so that, of course, went with the bunnies!

The greeting had to be simple and not take up too much space. I wasn’t sure it would fit on this smallest rectangle die in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, but it did! These dies are retiring on May 2 which I hate! I used these dies a lot. I planned to layer the greeting, “Happy Easter” in the Celebrating You Stamp Set on top of a die-cut Crumb Cake rectangle but it was too big for the card and I like just the Basic White greeting better along with the bunnies.

I adhered the bunnies straight to the card because I wanted to add the tiny little Loose Flower Flourishes on the bunny heads and I didn’t want the flowers to stick up too much if I wanted to mail the card. Luckily these teeny flowers are pretty low so hopefully, they can go through the mail. I always add a piece of paper towel or maybe crimped computer paper to cover embellishments in the envelope to protect them from the post office machines.

Try making some of these bunnies! Bet you can’t make just one! You could use a brown or gray cardstock or maybe even the right pattern of designer paper. Just have fun with it!

Friends of the Forest Bunnies Easter Card

Friends of the Forest Bunnies Easter Card

This Friends of the Forest Bunnies Easter Card is an easy one to make! But is it an Easter card?? Or is it a baby card?? Well, I made it as an Easter card but the whole time I was making it I thought this sweet bunny reminded me of baby cards! In fact, I was so taken with stamping the cute little bunny that I forgot about a greeting! But I’ll show you the inside and I think we don’t ALWAYS have to put a greeting on the outside.

This bunny is in the Friends of the Forest Stamp Set in the Spring Mini Catalog on page 19. This is not an “Easter” set but of course, the bunny is perfect for Easter. I did one of the things I like to do best … I randomly stamped the bunny on the Basic White layer to make my own designer paper! Or simply a pretty background! I used Crumb Cake ink and I went back and colored in the ears with the Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Marker. I had to stop myself before I started doing even more coloring because I didn’t want all the bunnies colored.

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock, although it looks darker in the photo. Then there is a layer of Petal Pink underneath the Basic White. You could use any pink and you could use a darker brown like Soft Suede. Or change up the color scheme altogether.

I actually copied myself making this card! I remembered a card in THIS POST that I had always liked so I updated it with this bunny!

I wanted a colored bunny to be the focal point so I stamped the bunny on Basic White and die cut with one of the dies in Ornate Frames that fits on the frilly die cut in the same set. This one is on Petal Pink cardstock and was already in my bag of cardstock so I must have diecut it before and didn’t use it! Just seeing it in with the other Petal Pink cardstock gave me the idea. It was the perfect size for the bunny!

The bunny is just colored with a Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend Marker. I wanted to keep him light and didn’t do any blending with another color. I used the narrow tip of the Petal Pink marker to color the insides of the ears, the tail, and the cheeks. I could have stopped there but I added a bit of grass for him to sit in with the Light Mint Macaron marker.

To embellish the card a bit I simply wrapped around a piece of the Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon. This has been one of my favorite ribbons so I am sad it is retiring on May 2, if not before. It is even on sale so check it out (or stock up!). The bunny piece, on the Ornate Frames diecut is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

After I got this far on the card, I realized I didn’t have a greeting and no space for one. I guess I could have fit one on somehow, but sometimes I think a card is fine without a greeting on the front. Or sometimes I make a generic pretty card that I like and don’t want to put the greeting on until I need the card. That way I can add whatever the occasion calls for.

On this card, I got the idea to make the greeting inside a little fancier. I stamped the greeting from the Celebrating You Stamp Set. What a great set of greetings! It is in the Spring Mini Catalog but it is also carried over to the new Annual Catalog! Yea!! On each side of the Petal Pink greeting, I stamped the bunny in Crumb Cake ink to match the outside. I think it’s really cute! It’s common to stamp a little something inside the card or add some of the designer paper, but I like the idea of stamping something on each side of the greeting! I should color the inside of his ears with Petal Pink as I did on the front of the card.

Prized Peony Monochromatic Easter Card

If you would like to make a pretty easy Easter card, this Prized Peony Monochromatic Easter Card will do! When you use one color, it takes some design decisions out of the way. I did some embossing on a layer but you could skip that. Just stamp, assemble your card, maybe add a ribbon for embellishment and it’s finished.

The card base is Highland Heather. Based on inspiration from an embossed piece of cardstock in the package, I decided to use the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder to add a little extra to the card. It is a separate layer on the card, not the card base.I like to use these tiny embossed flowers, but sadly, it is retiring! It is on sale, though, so if you want it, grab it.

The flower, from the Prized Peony Stamp Set, is stamped in Highland Heather ink on my favorite paper, Shimmery White. The Prized Peony Stamp Set is a Distinktive Stamp Set, that design by Stampin’ Up! that adds texture and depth right in one stamp. That’s why this peony stamp works well if you want to make a monochromatic card because all the design is already in the stamp. You don’t have to do another thing to it unless you want to. I was daring and stamped the greeting right in the corner of the card rather than on a layer (but I could have covered it if I messed up!). The Easter greeting is from the Celebrating You Stamp Set. The Prized Peony Stamp Set does come with some very useful greetings for other occasions, just not Easter!

For a little something, I finally tried something new. I wanted to have a bow on the flower stem so I colored the ribbon to match the card. I used the White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and then, on scrap paper, ran the side of a Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends Marker over the ribbon. The alcohol markers dry very quickly. I tried both the Light Heather and the Dark Heather markers and decided the Dark was probably a better match to the card. I could have left the ribbon white, but I happened to think about dying the ribbon with the marker. Nothing to it unless you get colored fingers. But do remember to use scrap paper underneath! The ink goes through this thin ribbon so you only have to color one side.

Here are the two products that are retiring in the Last-Chance Sale AND discounted! The Prized Peony Stamp Set is on sale for $19.20 and the Ornate Floral EF is on sale for $5.40!

Easter is coming soon, so if you would like to send out cards, start making some Easter cards so it won’t be a last-minute rush! Make a card something like this Prized Peony Monochromatic Easter Card if you are looking for something quick and easy but still pretty!

Hand-Penned Easter Card

Hand-Penned Easter Card

The other day after I made the Easter basket I posted yesterday, I was cleaning up my mess and as I saw the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper up against the Mint Macaron Cardstock, I loved it and had to make a card with that combination. Since I had made the Easter basket out of Cinnamon Cider and since this paper has some Cinnamon Cider in it, I added a narrow layer underneath the designer paper.

This is a really easy card to make yet looks perfect for a spring or Easter card. The card base is Mint Macaron with a layer of Cinnamon Cider (retiring soon!) and then the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper. Before adhering the designer paper to the Cinnamon Cider layer, add the ribbon first, if you are using ribbon. I used the wide, velvet Mint Macaron Soft Velvet Ribbon. This ribbon is beautiful but I hadn’t even used it yet and now it is retiring! Since that ribbon is wide, I didn’t try to add a bow, plus the background paper is pretty busy so I wanted to just keep it simple.

The greeting is in the CelebratingYou Stamp Set. I stamped it on Basic White with Mint Macaron Ink and then die cut that piece with one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and layered it on a larger die in the same set. These Stitched So Sweetly Dies are retiring soon, which I hate as I have used these dies a lot!! Not that I can’t continue to use them, but of course, once we get new things, we like to use the new things!

For the inside of the card, I added a layer of Basic White. To decorate it a bit, I cut out two flowers from the designer paper and adhered them inside the card. It’s always fun if you take the time to decorate the inside a little to match the outside of the card. You can take a strip of any designer paper you used on the card and adhere it to the bottom of the inside of the card or along the side or do a little stamping.

Hand-Penned Easter Card Inside

I know it’s hard to believe I didn’t add any jewels or gems on this card! I was just keeping it simple, but you could certainly add some sparkle!

And here is the Easter basket that started it all! See this post for all the details.

Friends of the Forest Easter Diorama Card

Friends of the Forest Easter Diorama Card

I’ve wanted to make this Friends of the Forest Easter Diorama Card ever since I got this stamp set in the Spring Mini Catalog! I could just imagine making a diorama card with some kind of little scene using the stamps in the Friends of the Forest Stamp Set!

This diorama card is actually a regular card size so you can fit it in an envelope. It folds flat! You could even make a middle layer inside a diorama card and make it as fancy and involved as you like, but this style is easy and just fine! All you need are two pieces of cardstock and an opening cut in the front so you can see the scene or decoration inside.

Start with two pieces of cardstock, each 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Score at 1/2″ and 1″ from each end on each cardstock piece. Fold and crease the score lines and play with them a little to see how it is going to go together. For this card, I used Soft Sea Foam Cardstock for the front and Basic White for the back.

Here is the diagram I used on a previous card. Since we no longer have the oval dies, I changed this card to cutting the opening with a circle die in the Layering Circles Dies, the largest one. You could use a rectangle or whatever you have that would make a hole large enough for whatever you want to do. The lines show the score lines.

Diorama Easter card diagram

To make the card, I stamped a tree and a bunny on Basic White and cut them out for the front of the card. On the inside, I stamped the tree, fox, flowers and mushrooms directly onto the Basic White and colored them in. But I also stamped two bunnies and a tree stump separately and cut them out by hand to add to the inside scene. Some things are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and some are glued flat on the card.

On the inside, after I had the scene made I decided to color in some grass. I used the Light Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend Marker. For the sky, I used the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. Just scribble lightly, you don’t even have to cover all the white space. I punched out a cloud with the Cloud Punch. It was too big, so I just cut off the side that was too long and popped it up on Dimensionals.

I colored all my pieces with Stampin’ Blends. I didn’t keep track of the colors. It doesn’t matter because you can do your own thing! I did discover after I finished, that the Stampin’ Blends bled through the back of the Basic White background, which I hadn’t thought about so I cut another piece of Basic White to cover that up on the back.

I adhered one cut-out tree and one bunny on the front of the card. The greeting is stamped with the Celebrating You Stamp Set and die cut with a small rectangle in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. For a little embellishment, I added a cute little Brushed Brass Butterfly on the greeting and a few little Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Here is a view of the card from the top. Just glue the ends together to connect the front and back and make sure everything creases well.

Friends of the Forest Easter Diorama Card Top

For another idea, here is a card I made two years ago in a similar design.

If you just try this card design, once you cut and score the paper and crease the lines, you will see how the card goes together. It’s really very easy but will make a great impression on whoever you decide to send it to!

Flowering Fields Fresh Freesia Easter Card

Flowering Fields Fresh Freesia Easter Card

If you like purple or know someone who does, I think you will love this Flowering Fields Fresh Freesia Easter Card! Of course, the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper (the tulip paper, I like to call it!) is so pretty to use on cards! I chose this purple-ish floral tulip pattern to use on this card and I like how it turned out!

The card base is Fresh Freesia, one of the coordinating colors with the Flowering Fields Paper and one of the 2021-2023 In Colors. These colors will be sticking around for another year but the 2020-2022 In Colors will be retiring.

A fancier way to do this card front is to cut the designer paper into strips rather than have a solid piece. These pieces are 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and fit perfectly on the Rich Razzleberry layer that is 5″ x 3 3/4″. You can just eyeball the spacing, making sure it is as even as possible. Lay it out before you glue to make sure everything fits properly! I wanted the Fresh Freesia color to show so I made the margin wider than we usually do.

Before adhering the Rich Razzleberry layer with the strips of designer paper, I wrapped around a piece of Fresh Freesia 3/8″ Open Weave Ribbon. I wanted some ribbon on the card but not something that was going to overwhelm the tulips so this ribbon was perfect. It’s there but you can see through it and it adds a little bit to the card design.

For the greeting, I happened to have the die cut already in my package of Rich Razzleberry cardstock so I wondered it that would be good to use. The “Happy Easter” greeting is in the Celebrating You Stamp Set. This is a great stamp set to have with some basic greetings you will be glad that you have! I stamped it in Rich Razzleberry ink on Fresh Freesia cardstock. I thought Basic White might be too stark against the card since it didn’t have any other white on the card.

The die set I used is the Meadows Dies for the little label with the fancy ends. As I said, I already had one cut in my cardstock so I used that for the layer. After stamping the Easter greeting I cut it with the same die. Then I very carefully trimmed off the curvy ends, leaving the stitching. It just barely fits on the Rich Razzleberry layer even though it overlaps the fancy ends a tiny bit. Then I tied a knot on each end with the Fresh Freesia ribbon, which kind of obscures the die cut, but I still like it. The greeting is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Here is my first Easter card of the season, a Z-Fold card, but it uses another paper in the Flowering Fields package with similar tulips as on this card except in orange colors.

Because you don’t have to figure out the measurements for a card like this, just copy mine, this card will be easy for you to make! It really didn’t take much time. Easter is less than a month away now, so make some of those pretty Easter cards to send like this Flowering Fields Fresh Freesia Easter card.

Flowering Fields Z-Fold Easter Card

Flowering Fields Z-Fold Easter Card

The Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper has so many pretty sheets in it! It’s pretty difficult to choose which one to work with! This day, this page with the yellowish tulips is the one that spoke to me! This is just a simple Flowering Fields Z-Fold Easter Card with the designer paper and a little stamping making a bright card for spring.

The card base is Mango Melody, one of the coordinating colors in the designer paper. To make the Z-Fold, just score the front of the card in half, at 2 1/8″ and fold back on itself. It’s really easy and the recipient will think you made an extra-special card! The tulip designer paper on the front panel is cut at 5 3/8″ x 2″. The opposite side of the tulip paper is the one I adhered inside the card. It is cut at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. You could also use the normal layer sizes of 1/4″ margins instead of 1/8″.

Here is a similar card from a year ago that can give you another idea.

On Basic White cardstock I stamped a couple of tulips with the Flowering Tulips Stamp Set. This was two-step stamping using So Saffron and Mango Melody inks for the flowers and Pear Pizzazz for the stems and leaves. After stamping on the Basic White, it was die cut with one of the Scalloped Contours Dies to make this scalloped rectangle. I situated the die so that the flowers would be down lower on the die cut to leave room for a greeting. I found the “”Happy Easter” greeting in the Celebrating You Stamp Set in the Spring Mini Catalog. It is stamped in Mango Melody ink. This piece was then adhered to the front of the card, right on the fold. Be sure to only put adhesive on half of the piece and the other side shouldn’t have any adhesive on it so it doesn’t stick to the inside of the card.

Flowering Fields Z-Fold Easter Card Inside

For the inside of the card, I die cut another Basic White piece the exact size of the scalloped rectangle on the front of the card. I made sure that it was perfectly placed behind the front piece so that it wouldn’t show underneath from the front. To do this I put adhesive on the back of the scalloped rectangle and then held it perfectly behind and against the front rectangle. Then I folded the back of the card over so that the rectangle would then adhere to the inside of the card. It worked! You’ll understand when you actually do it. Now a message can be stamped on the inside of the card or a note written and it won’t be sticking out from the front of the card!

I always say these Z-Fold cards look like something really special but they are easy to make! No one has to know! I hope you will feel inspired with this Flowering Fields Z-Fold Easter Card and make your own, even with different paper and theme! Try it!

Hydrangea Hill Happy Easter Card

Hydrangea Hill Happy Easter Card

Easter is coming in just a few days, so if you wanted to have a few Easter cards to mail or hand out, this Hydrangea Hill Happy Easter Card is a super simple one to make! You can see it is just a basic, easy card design and one you can change up with different paper and greeting.

The Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper is a beautiful paper on it’s own so it works well with a simple card like this one. You wouldn’t want a lot of other embellishments or fancy greetings and die cuts that would take away from the beauty of the paper as it is.

The card base of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock is one of the coordinating colors with the Hydrangea Hill Paper. A lighter shade of purple would be Highland Heather. I just cut a piece of the designer paper to the usual layer size of 4″ x 5 1/4″. When you have a design like this, with the larger hydrangea flowers, you might want to try to strategically cut the paper to get the best view of the flowers. On this particular paper, you can see how there is one hydrangea that is kind of the focal point because all of it is on the card. You might not have a choice depending on if you have already cut up your paper for other projects, but I still had enough of this paper to cut a 4″ wide strip the length of the paper. Then I could go back in and cut out just the portion that showed off the flower well. You might end up with not one full flower on your card front but it would likely still be pretty because that would just be a different look of all the colors of the various flowers.

Before adhering the designer paper to the card front, I added some Blackberry Bliss 3/8″ Striped Ribbon. Actually, I originally thought it was Gorgeous Grape but it still matches just fine! The sheerness and the pretty stripes of this ribbon are beautiful on this card. I tied the bow on separately.

The greeting is from the Arrange A Wreath Stamp Set and is stamped in Gorgeous Grape. I cut it out with one of the Layering Circles Dies and layered it on a pretty decorative circle in the Painted Labels Dies. You can see that you could put a birthday greeting, anniversary, thinking of you, sympathy, even a wedding sentiment on this same card and it would be perfect. I could have added some pretty sequins or rhinestones around on the card as well. But as I said, the paper is so pretty, you almost don’t want to add much because you want the recipient to focus on the beautiful paper design.

This Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper is in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog so is not in danger of retiring right away as the Annual Catalog products are. However, usually all designer paper retires eventually to bring in new, so enjoy your hydrangea paper while we have it! The Arrange a Wreath Stamp Set is retiring from the Annual Catalog along with the Wreath Dies by May 3.

Here is another basic card design using the Hydrangea Hill Designer Paper, with a less busy design, but you could change it out using this floral pattern.

Finish up your Easter cards and projects, but you can also make this Hydrangea Hill Happy Easter Card card for any other occasion.

Love You Always Happy Easter Card

Love You Always Happy Easter Card

Can you use Valentine paper to make an Easter card? Sure, with the Love You Always Specialty Designer Series Paper with its beautiful foil floral design on three different colors of papers. Of course, it is not officially Valentine paper. It is just presented in the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog in “sort of” the Valentine section of the catalog, in the Love You Always Suite. It is actually beautiful paper that you can use for many occasions. Since two of the three sheets of paper are pink (Blushing Bride and Rococo Rose) and since the suite contains hearts, we perceive it as Valentine’s Day paper. But if it would have been added to a floral suite, we wouldn’t consider it Valentine paper! All this to say, you can use this Love You Always Paper to make almost any pretty cards that you want!

This easy Easter card starts with a Blushing Bride Cardstock card base. The layer is the Love You Always Paper in Blushing Bride. I wanted to keep the card simple so I didn’t try for anything fancy. I stamped the greeting with stamps from two different stamp sets. First, stamped the Easter greeting from the Arrange a Wreath Stamp Set (retiring from the Annual Catalog!) and then for a little extra, I remembered the tulip in the Springtime Joy Stamp Set which I thought would sort of match the designer paper. I stamped just one tulip but decided on one on each side of the greeting.

Next, to cut out the greeting, I looked through my dies and finally decided on a large one in the Tasteful Labels Dies. Then I tried various things to make a layer of Blushing Bride Cardstock under the greeting, usually by cutting another die in half so it would just show out to the sides of the greeting. Nothing seemed to add anything to the card.

I thought I would try ribbon, so I used the Blushing Bride 3/8″ Metallic Ribbon. I’ve been using this ribbon pretty often. It’s very pretty with its one satin side and one metallic side. I wrapped this ribbon horizontally around the designer paper and added a bow separately. This seemed to enhance the card without interfering with the large die-cut greeting.

The greeting is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals®. For a little bling, I added a few of the smallest Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels, which I really liked on this card!

Arrange a Wreath Easter Card

Arrange a Wreath Easter Card

This Arrange A Wreath Easter Card uses several products, unfortunately, from the Stampin’ Up! Last-Chance List. Every year we go through this with a bit of excitement and a bit of nostalgia. We wonder what will be retiring and then we groan when our favorites are on the list! It’s really kind of funny after you have been through it many times! And then when the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog comes out we’re all excited about the new products and almost forget about what retired! Yet there are always those products that we each must have in our stash, whether they have been around for awhile or maybe only a year or two.

Easter is coming next weekend so be sure you are ready for the Easter Bunny! Make some Easter cards to send and get them in the mail! If you already have the Arrange a Wreath Bundle, you can make some very pretty cards for Spring and Easter. This Bundle is good for all seasons, actually. I really wish it was not retiring yet! However, on this card, I just used the Wreath Builder Dies. The stamp set, dies, and Bundle are all backordered as I write this. Hopefully, they will be back in stock soon!

Another product retiring, that I just purchased, is the Playing With Patterns Designer Series Paper. These are 6″ x 6″ papers with such colorful and happy colors and patterns! I can’t believe I didn’t have it before now. There were several papers that I could have used for a background for this Easter card, but I chose this Calypso Coral paper with white dots and layered it on top of Basic White cardstock to brighten it up. The card base is Calypso Coral.

The wreath is one of two choices in leafy wreaths in the die set. And then you get all kinds of dies to add elements to your wreath. I chose the wreath with the small sprigs of leaves and decorated it with colored die-cut eggs and flowers along with the die-cut bow in the Wreath Builder Dies. For flower centers, I used the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots. I have used these a lot because Gold Glitter goes with a lot of things especially since they come in different sizes of dots. These dots are also retiring soon so get them while you can!

I actually forgot about the matching Arrange a Wreath Stamp Set, so I used the Easter greeting in the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set. ALL the Itty Bitty Stamp sets are retiring, which really upsets me because I used all the Itty Bitty stamp sets a lot. You can find just about any greeting you could need in one of these sets! If you don’t have them, be sure to check them out in case you “need” them! The greeting is stamped in Calypso Coral Ink and punched out with the Classic Label Punch. Can we really live without this basic punch??! It was just perfect with the Itty Bitty greetings and many others.

Check out the Last-Chance Products List and Sale. The Classic Label Punch is even on sale, but is backordered. All of these products are available while supplies last.

The easiest way to see what is still available is just to go to the Stampin’ Up! Online Store and shop there. If you already have the Arrange a Wreath Bundle or dies, make a card for a friend or neighbor for Easter like this Arrange A Wreath Easter Card. You can even add a bunny if you want!

Springtime Joy Bunny and Easter Basket

Springtime Joy Bunny and Easter Basket

This Springtime Joy Bunny and Easter Basket Easter card came out of planning to make a monochromatic or almost monochromatic card like one I made a previous year that turned out cute! Only the background turned out to be monochromatic! But it is fun to make a stamped background! Just some good old stamping that feels good in your hand!

The card base is Crumb Cake Cardstock with a layer of Petal Pink. The top layer is Shimmery White Cardstock. I stamped the Easter basket in the Springtime Joy Stamp Set randomly on the piece of Shimmery White with Crumb Cake ink. The Shimmery White has just a very subtle shimmer to it which makes it so elegant and beautiful (but difficult to photograph!).

The bunny and the Easter basket in the Springtime Joy Stamp Set are both stamped on Shimmery White and then cut out with Paper Snips scissors by hand! Then they were adhered to a die-cut piece of Shimmery White, cut out with the Stitched Shapes Dies. These dies are on the Last-Chance List which makes me sad because they have been some of my favorite and most used dies. They are just basic shapes you can use over and over but the little stitching around the edge really adds a nice touch. Plus they can be layered on other die-cuts. In this case the Stitched Shapes circle is layered on a Layering Circles scalloped die-cut. (The Layering Ovals and Layering Squares Dies are both retiring!)

The bunny and basket are both popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals®. They are colored in with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. Some Stampin’ Blends colors are retiring as well! Crazy! The bow is tied with the Blushing Bride 3/8″ Metallic Ribbon.

If you really wanted to make a monochromatic Easter card, here is one I made last year all in Highland Heather Ink.

On the inside of the card, I added a Shimmery White piece of cardstock with the Easter greeting stamped in Crumb Cake from the stamp set, plus the Easter basket in the bottom corner.

Be sure to check out the list of retiring Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog products. Some are discounted but not everything. Bundles are not carried over at the Bundle price with the 10% off price, but some Bundle items are carried over to the new catalog separately. There will be new Bundles in the new catalog! A few products are not really going away, such as the Tear & Tape Adhesive, but are being “reconfigured”. The embossing powders are not going away but will be packaged in sets of three colors.

It’s time to make Easter cards so I hope this Springtime Joy Bunny and Easter Basket card will give you some inspiration.

Trio of Bunnies Easter Card

Trio of Bunnies Easter Card

Here’s a Trio of Bunnies Easter Card, three little bunnies just waiting for Easter! They are just waiting in the grass, next to some tulips, thinking about spring!

The card base is Pool Party Cardstock with a layer of Blushing Bride Cardstock. I like these two colors together for spring, for softness, and for prettiness! The top layer is Basic White Cardstock, stamped with the bunnies from the Springtime Joy Stamp Set, a couple of tulips, and a small butterfly all in Memento Black Ink.

The bunnies, tulips, and butterfly were colored in with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I had colored in some grass and even some sprigs of grass, but then I got the idea to cut a piece of green designer paper of some sort for the bottom border of the card to look like grass. I looked through my designer papers and ended up choosing this pattern from the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper. There are several you could choose from. I also colored in the background of the sky behind the bunnies with the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend.

I usually like to cover a “seam” or where a piece of designer paper ends on a piece of cardstock with a piece of ribbon or another strip of paper. On this card, I used a piece of Mossy Meadow 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim across the top of the designer paper and tied two knots along the trim.

The greeting is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set. You can find almost anything you need in all of the “Itty Bitty” stamp sets! I love them! I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. It was a good size for this card! It is popped up with a small Foam Adhesive Strip. These are just like Stampin’ Dimensionals except they are strips. Sometimes you use them in the same way as Dimensionals and sometimes they are used for special projects like shaker cards.

For one more little touch, I added some Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins in the background. I could have added an Easter Basket for at least one bunny to hold, but I wasn’t thinking about that when I made the card so I think it is fine the way it is. I could have also used the “Welcome Spring” greeting in the stamp set.

You will find a lot of uses for this cute Springtime Joy Stamp Set!

Springtime Joy Lamb Easter Card

Springtime Joy Lamb Easter Card

I am really falling in love with this spring stamp set and enjoyed this making this Springtime Joy Lamb Easter Card. Yes, Easter is right around the corner so it’s time to make cards!

Be sure to check out this Springtime Joy Stamp Set in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog (Spring Mini)! You might miss it because it’s “just” a stamp set! No Suite, no Bundle, no dies, no embellishments, just a stamp set! Like in the olden days! You’ll find it on page 22.

I wanted to make a card with the lamb in the stamp set and this is what I came up with! The card base is Melon Mambo, a color I haven’t used in awhile somehow. It has a layer of Blushing Bride Cardstock on which I stamped tulips in the same color ink, Blushing Bride.

The lamb is stamped with Memento Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I die-cut the lamb with this die in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I started off just coloring the lamb image with Stampin’ Blends, using the lightest gray just around the lamb for a little definition around the flowers, around her face, and around the fluffs of wool on the body. The crown of flowers is colored with Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo and the leaves with Granny Apple Green. But I couldn’t stop! I added some grass under the lamb and then, of course, I had to have some sky with Pool Party! Just kind of scribble little scribbles if you are coloring in a larger area.

This lamb piece is layered on a scalloped rectangle of Melon Mambo, also die-cut from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I popped this up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting is also in the Springtime Joy Stamp Set. It is stamped in Blushing Bride Ink and die-cut with a banner in the Tasteful Labels Dies. It is popped up on Dimensionals, too.

For the inside of the card, I adhered a layer of Basic White since the Melon Mambo is a little dark. It is stamped with the Easter greeting in the stamp set and a little tulip in the lower right corner.

For another idea, here is a card I made with the cute bunny in the Springtime Joy Stamp Set. Oddly enough, I also stamped the tulips in the background on that card, too! I was almost copying myself and didn’t know it!

If you plan to make spring and Easter cards, consider the Springtime Joy Stamp Set and make a card like my Springtime Joy Lamb Easter Card.
