Springtime Joy Lamb Easter Card

Springtime Joy Lamb Easter Card

I am really falling in love with this spring stamp set and enjoyed this making this Springtime Joy Lamb Easter Card. Yes, Easter is right around the corner so it’s time to make cards!

Be sure to check out this Springtime Joy Stamp Set in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog (Spring Mini)! You might miss it because it’s “just” a stamp set! No Suite, no Bundle, no dies, no embellishments, just a stamp set! Like in the olden days! You’ll find it on page 22.

I wanted to make a card with the lamb in the stamp set and this is what I came up with! The card base is Melon Mambo, a color I haven’t used in awhile somehow. It has a layer of Blushing Bride Cardstock on which I stamped tulips in the same color ink, Blushing Bride.

The lamb is stamped with Memento Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I die-cut the lamb with this die in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I started off just coloring the lamb image with Stampin’ Blends, using the lightest gray just around the lamb for a little definition around the flowers, around her face, and around the fluffs of wool on the body. The crown of flowers is colored with Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo and the leaves with Granny Apple Green. But I couldn’t stop! I added some grass under the lamb and then, of course, I had to have some sky with Pool Party! Just kind of scribble little scribbles if you are coloring in a larger area.

This lamb piece is layered on a scalloped rectangle of Melon Mambo, also die-cut from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I popped this up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting is also in the Springtime Joy Stamp Set. It is stamped in Blushing Bride Ink and die-cut with a banner in the Tasteful Labels Dies. It is popped up on Dimensionals, too.

For the inside of the card, I adhered a layer of Basic White since the Melon Mambo is a little dark. It is stamped with the Easter greeting in the stamp set and a little tulip in the lower right corner.

For another idea, here is a card I made with the cute bunny in the Springtime Joy Stamp Set. Oddly enough, I also stamped the tulips in the background on that card, too! I was almost copying myself and didn’t know it!

If you plan to make spring and Easter cards, consider the Springtime Joy Stamp Set and make a card like my Springtime Joy Lamb Easter Card.

Coming Home Haunted House Halloween Card

Coming Home Haunted House Halloween Card

This Coming Home Haunted House Halloween Card was so fun to create! I didn’t know what it was going to be until I made it! I had seen the idea online of making Halloween houses out of what we are mostly using as Christmas houses and I thought that was so clever that I had to use that idea.

To get this card started I stamped one house in the Coming Home Stamp Set on Whisper White and then colored it in with various colors of Stampin’ Blends markers. You can use whatever colors you like. I wanted my house to look haunted so I chose some light and dark gray colors for the house with a couple different yellows for the windows. I wanted to roof to look a little spooky so I used a purple on it along with grays and black. The chimney is part Cherry Cobbler. Then to make it look even more run-down, I drew lines with the pointy end of the Basic Black Blends marker to resemble shingles or bricks on the house. That’s not what the stamp looks like.

The card base is Basic Black with a layer of Gorgeous Grape. As I looked through my embossing folders, I found this Woodland Embossing Folder and used that. Originally I thought just any kind of small background folder for some texture would be fine, but when I found this one with the trees, thought it was perfect for Halloween spookiness.

After I had stamped the haunted house, I cut it out with Paper Snips and originally thought I would adhere it to a die-cut circle or rectangle to be the focal point of the card, but then I decided I could just place it at the bottom of the card and it could look like it was out in the woods. I also carefully stamped some trees in Memento Black in the Coming Home Stamp Set in between the embossed trees. I got lucky that I didn’t mess up the embossing!

The greeting is from the Banner Year Stamp Set. I have gotten a lot of use out of this stamp set even though it is one you might overlook. I like the variety of greetings and small images. I stamped it on Crushed Curry Cardstock and then used a die-cut in the Tasteful Labels Dies. I love the look of that circle die with the fancy edge. I popped that up with Stampin’ Dimensionals® and placed some ghosts behind it.

To make all my ghosts, I die cut the smallest plain hearts in the Be Mine Stitched Dies and cut them in half. You can read about why I make ghosts like that HERE in this recent post. The haunted house had to have some ghosts, too! I colored on some eyes on the ghosts with a marker.

And that’s it for my Coming Home Haunted House Halloween Card which was so fun to make! Halloween is Saturday so time is running out to enjoy creating for this fun holiday!

Gather Together Fall Colored Leaves Card

Gather Together Fall Colored Leaves Card

I might have seen a tree with a few yellowish leaves at the top the other day when we were out for a walk so I was inspired to hope for fall and make this Gather Together Fall Colored Leaves Card. The weather has even been a little cooler lately (in part thanks to Tropical Storm Beta). In fact, the night before last I almost a felt a little cool on my legs wearing shorts. Yes, in Houston, Texas we are still wearing shorts, complaining about the heat, and running the air-conditioner. It kills me to see pictures way up north of trees with beautiful fall colored leaves. But fall leaves will get here, too….just not until December!

I just wanted to make a simple fall card and this is it! The card base is Cajun Craze and the layer is Shimmery White Cardstock. I love Shimmery White Cardstock, as I have said many times before. It is the tiniest bit off-white and has a very subtle shimmer. It’s also good for watercoloring if you don’t have watercolor paper.

The stamps are in the Gather Together Stamp Set. They are just inked up with Memento Ink, stamped randomly on the card, and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. Just choose a variety of fall colors and color the leaves with whatever combinations you want. I think I used the Light and Dark of Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Old Olive, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie and a few others like Cajun Craze.

The little texture stamp is also in the Gather Together Stamp Set. I inked it up with Old Olive but stamped off first on my Grid Paper so it would stamp lighter. The greeting is also in the same stamp set and I just stamped that in Old Olive Ink on a scrap strip. For some reason I decided to just let the strip extend completely across the bottom of the card. I liked it.

I hope you are beginning to see signs of fall where you live. A few houses in our neighborhood have some Halloween decorations up. I think it’s a little early but I love to put up Halloween decorations, inside and out. Maybe this year I will go a little lighter since no one will be coming in to see them. But of course making myself happy with my favorite Halloween and fall decorations is just as important!

Here is another card I made with the leaves in the Gather Together Stamp Set you can check out for another idea.

If you don’t own the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers, you could color these leaves with a sponge or Sponge Daubers or pick up ink and color in. There are lots of coloring techniques. Try your hand at making some fall leaf cards soon like this Gather Together Fall Colored Leaves Card.
