Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Slimline Card

Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Slimline Card

Have you tried this “slimline” type of card yet? I’ve made several recently just for something a little different. It’s actually a card idea that was around years ago and just came back! You can make them of various lengths and widths.

t seems I have made all my slimline cards using the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper! I think it is because I hadn’t used it in a while and the 6″ x 6″ size was perfect to use. Because of the paper size, I decided to just make my card 6″ x 6″, folded in half so I could use a piece of designer paper 3″ x 6″.

I chose the yellowish paper with little flowers all over for this card. Before adhering the paper to the Whisper White card base, I adhered a strip of Bumblebee 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon to the paper, wrapping the ends around to the back and then adhering the designer paper to the card base. Then I made a separate bow out of the gingham ribbon and adhered it to the ribbon using Mini Glue Dots.

The greeting is stamped in Cinnamon Cider Ink with the Blossoms In Bloom Stamp Set. There are some good greetings in that stamp set. Then I die cut the greeting with a die in the Tasteful Labels Dies. It is popped up over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

To decorate the greeting I had already cut out various flowers from some of the other papers, so I adhered two cut-out yellow flowers to the greeting. And since I can’t leave those In Color Enamel Dots alone, I had to add three dots to the greeting as well!

I think these slimline cards are a nice change up to send people. After being used to the size we normally send, this size will be a pleasant surprise! This size will fit in that medium size envelope we probably all have in a box from the office supply store. If you make it longer, you can use the longer style envelope that lots of our mail comes in.

Here is the first slimline card I tried with a blue pattern in the Flowers For Every Season Designer Paper. (Gee, I added some Enamel Dots on that card, too!)

You can use any designer paper you like, or simply stamp, but try one of these slimline cards just for fun like this Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Slimline Card.

Flowers For Every Season Thank You Slimline Card

If you are looking to make a “happy card”, look no further than this Flowers For Every Season Thank You Slimline Card! Some days you just need something “happy” and the flowers and colors in this pretty paper will improve anyone’s mood or day!

This is what is called a slimline card since it is long and narrow. You can make these cards longer and a little less narrow and they will still fit in a business-size envelope. Since this paper is 6″ x 6″, I thought 6″ wide would be plenty slim-enough. Half a sheet of the designer paper would fit on the card front. This card will fit in that smaller regular size envelope that people use, not our good Stampin’ Up! envelopes.

For this card, I just made a card base of Whisper White at 6″ x 6″ folded in half to 6″ x 3″. I chose two patterns of the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper for this card. There isn’t any margin, the designer paper is the full size of the card base. Actually the flowers and the polka dots are the same sheet of paper, opposite sides. I just cut each piece wide enough to overlap on the front of the card and adhered a ribbon across the seam of the two papers. It’s a very easy card to make.

The ribbon is the pretty Magenta Madness In Color Ribbon. I adhered it around the designer paper layer and then adhered the designer paper to the card base. I also tied a knot on each side of the greeting.

The greeting is in the Blossoms In Bloom Stamp Set. I wanted it to fit on this particular circle die cut so I stamped the words individually one above the other. Make sure the stamp is completely clean so you don’t get a bit of ink where you don’t want it. It is stamped in Just Jade Ink to match the polka dot paper, then die-cut with that pretty circle in the Tasteful Labels Dies. As extra little accents on the greeting, I cut out by hand a few flowers from the designer paper and adhered them to the greeting die cut. The greeting is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals®

If you would like to try something a little bit different but easy, try one of these narrow, slimline cards. Here is another one I made recently that I really liked making.

While we are all getting excited and beginning to get wrapped up in making holiday cards and projects out of the new August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, let’s not forget the pretty things in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. There is still time for colorful flowers like on this lovely designer paper and we could all use some bright and happy colors and cards in our lives right now so try something like this Flowers For Every Season Thank You Slimline Card.

Flowers For Every Season Monochromatic Slimline Card

Flowers For Every Season Monochromatic Slimline Card

The latest cardmaking craze these days seem to be “slimline cards” so I made this Flowers For Every Season Monochromatic Slimline Card. Now I don’t really even know the exact details of a “slimline” card so maybe this technically isn’t one! But I made a long, narrow card as opposed to our normal 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card! This card is 3″ x 6″ so whatever it is called, that’s what I made!

The other day I was working with my Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper and realized all over again how pretty and bright it is and that I hadn’t used it in a long time. When I got out my paper to design a card, since the paper is 6″ x 6″ I thought, “Why not cut it in half and make a card out of a 6″ x 6” piece of cardstock folded in half?

The card base is Whisper White, as I said, cut at 6″ x 6″ and folded in half so that the card front is 3″ x 6″. I cut this blue pattern of the Flowers For Every Season designer paper the full 3″ x 6″. I debated about using ribbon, but decided to just use a 1/2″ strip of a dotted side of the designer paper instead.

The greeting, in the Blossoms In Bloom Stamp Set, was stamped in Misty Moonlight Ink, which matches the designer paper. It is die-cut with a Stitched Shapes Die.

I already had stamped the flower from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set. I adhered the greeting flat on the card but I popped up the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

For a little bling, I couldn’t resist adding a few Misty Moonlight 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots. I think these have been very popular since they came out in the Annual Catalog! As I write this, they are on “Low Inventory” so get yours while you can! They work so well because they are small and fairly flat.

Try this different style of card, no matter what size you want to make it, as long as it will fit in an envelope you have! Of course you can always make your own envelope. I’ve made this kind of card years ago, so what goes around comes back around again! You can make a card like this a few inches longer and about an inch taller, but since I was working with 6″ x 6″ designer paper, this Flowers For Every Season Monochromatic Slimline Card was the perfect size for me.

Jar of Flowers Daisies Card

Jar of Flowers Daisies

This Jar of Flowers Daisies Card was fun and easy to make, especially when it matched so nicely with the designer paper I already had on an unfinished card. Sometimes your creative card ideas can just come from the pile of stuff on your table!!

The card base is Whisper White Cardstock with a layer of the new In Color, Magenta Madness, which I am loving! It’s a little shocking when you first see it in person but it grows on you! Then I had added a strip of daisies in the Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and adhered a piece of Magenta Madness 1/4″ Ribbon, plus tied on a bow. I already had this card made to this point except for the bow when I found it on my desk and thought I should just finish it off!

I stamped the jar in the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set in Memento Ink and colored in some water with the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. I also stamped the flower stems and colored those with the Old Olive Stampin’ Blend with some shading of Mossy Meadow. Then the jar was punched out with the Jar Punch. I always forget there aren’t dies with this stamp set for the flowers!

For the flowers, since the designer paper had daisies on it, I used the Medium Daisy Punch to punch out six daisies so I would have two daisies layered for each flower. I glued these two layers together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue but then popped them up (the two front daisies) with Stampin’ Dimensionals® on the card. I decided to add some little lines in pink on each petal to copy the designer paper. I just used one of my Stampin’ Blends but you could also use a Stampin’ Write Marker or not do it at all! I also used my Perennial Essence Floral Centers (retired) in the center.

The jar is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals with the two front flowers, as I mentioned. the third daisy in the back , at the top, is just glued right onto the card front.

Besides not having much room, I liked the card as is and decided to even try to add a greeting. You don’t have to on every card although we usually do. But we don’t have to!

It’s flower season in the heat of summer so try out that Flowers For Every Season DSP and flower stamps or the flower dies and daisy punches! Soon we will be starting on holiday projects! Yikes!

Here is another card I made with both sizes of daisy punches and you can see another choice to use for the flower center, also retired, but you can substitute the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

This Jar of Flowers Daisies Card would make a bright and happy card to send to someone or give with a gift.

Christmas Card With Flowers For Every Season

Christmas Card With Flowers For Every Season

It’s never too early to start on Christmas cards and this one is the first of the season! It’s easy to get started on holiday cards like this Christmas Card With Flowers For Every Season with this poinsettia paper pattern and Christmas stamp sets in the Annual Catalog.

It’s amazing that the Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper has a holiday pattern of poinsettias in the package! Just three days ago was 6 months until Christmas Day so I should have made this card for that day!

The card base is Just Jade, one of the new In Colors and one that coordinates with this designer paper. There is a layer of Poppy Parade with a piece of designer paper covering just part of the Poppy Parade. The designer paper layer is 5 1/4″ x 2 3/4″.

Before adhering the designer paper and Poppy Parade layer to the card base, I added a strip of Gold 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon around the edge of the designer paper.

The greeting stamped on the Poppy Parade at the bottom is from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set in the Annual Catalog. You could stamp this on another piece of cardstock and layer it or even heat emboss it in gold, but I went for the simple method!

After adhering the layer to the Just Jade, I tied a bow with the ribbon and adhered it with Mini Glue Dots to the ribbon. You could also put it in the center of the card

This is just a very simple card to get started on the holidays! It’s quick and easy and you can make several cards with the four sheets of this paper in the package.

Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Tag Card

Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Tag Card

Originally I intended to exactly copy a very bright and “happy” card I saw on Instagram by someone whose cards I always like, @leannecreates, but as so often happens, after I got started the design changed and I ended up with this Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Tag Card.

The Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper has so many pretty floral patterns in it, some very bright like this one I used on this card. I used Whisper White Cardstock for the card base with a layer of Daffodil Delight Cardstock for a layer under the designer paper. After I got to this point, I noticed an already punched tag in my bag of cardstock, so I decided to see if I could use that.

The tag was punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I added a Whisper White layer stamped with a greeting from the Many Mates Stamp Set, a great set of greetings in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog. To help the tag stand out a little bit better, I used the green side of a scrap of the same floral designer paper to go underneath the tag. It helps the tag stand out against the floral background and it adds a little more interest to the whole card.

To decorate the tag I cut out some flowers from the same designer paper, the scraps from the layer on the card, using my Paper Snips. It’s pretty easy and you don’t have to be perfect in cutting out a few flowers. For a finishing touch I added a bow tied with the Magenta Madness 1/4″ In Color Ribbon. Since I was putting the bow right over the opening at the top of the tag, I stuck a Stampin’ Dimensional underneath that opening since the whole tag was popped up on Dimensionals. That gave a good sticky area on which to adhere the bow!

On the inside of the card, I added a strip of the designer paper along the left side, it didn’t even reach the full length but added a little bit of design inside the card. I could have also stamped a flower inside.

Be sure to check out the Flowers For Every Season Designer Paper in the new catalog when you get ready to order. It’s the 6″ x 6″ size which is easy to work with. Even if you find some of the colors or patterns pretty bright, you can tone them down with the other colors that you use with those. But these are really pretty papers and flowers can be used for so many kinds of cards! Here is another card I made recently with a pattern of designer paper that I wasn’t all that thrilled with, but once I used it, especially using a smaller piece of the paper, I really loved the card!

You will be able to make tons of pretty cards similar to my Flowers For Every Season Thinking of You Tag Card with this pretty designer series paper!

Flowers For Every Season You Are The Best Card

Flowers For Every Season You Are The Best Card

It’s possible to go from not liking a card so much to liking it a lot as I did with this Flowers For Every Season You Are The Best Card. Sometimes you just have to keep playing with making a card and sometimes the paper just wins you over after awhile!

This card features the Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. It has beautiful floral designs plus generic designs on the backs of some of the floral sheets so you have a lot to choose from. I wasn’t too crazy about the floral design on this card at first but once I layered it on a piece of cardstock and tied the ribbon and bow around it, I really liked it!

The card base is Whisper White. You can always use the regular Whisper White Cardstock, but if you would like a heavier card base, try the Whisper White Thick Cardstock. I added this Just Jade designer paper layer on the card base. The focal point, the pinkish floral sheet, is cut at 3″ x 4 1/4″ and the Magenta Madness In Color layer underneath it at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″. Before adhering the floral paper, I adhered a piece of the Magenta Madness 1/4″ In Color Ribbon around it. I tied the bow separately and adhered to the ribbon with Mini Glue Dots.

For the greeting, I stamped “You Are The Best” from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set. I used the Ornate Frames Dies to cut out the greeting and also the fancy frame on which to layer it. This is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals®. And I couldn’t resist using two of the Magenta Madness In Color Enamel Dots.

This card has the center layers a smaller size than usual so you have wider margins and can see more of the Just Jade paper underneath. If you like florals, you have to get the Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Paper and make all kinds of pretty cards!

Flowers For Every Season Hello Card

Flowers For Every Season Hello Card

This Flowers For Every Season Hello Card is a pretty basic card design and simple to make. I would also call it a “happy” card because of the pretty colors! If you could see the floral design on the other side of this paper you would call that “happy” also! It’s often difficult to decide which side of the pretty designer paper you want to use!

I’m using two of the new In Colors on this card – Bumblebee and Just Jade. I’m not that crazy about green as a color, but when I opened the package of assorted In Color cardstock, I was really struck by how pretty the Just Jade Cardstock was! I thought using the Just Jade behind the designer paper would help it stand out.

The card base is Bumblebee with a layer of Just Jade, then the Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. You could use any colors and paper pattern that you want plus the same or similar greeting on a different card.

The greeting is stamped from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set in Just Jade Ink and is die-cut with the Stitched Shapes circle die. The Just Jade piece behind the greeting to help it stand out and just add a little more interest is one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. To save 10%, buy the stamp set and dies together in the Tasteful Touches Bundle.

Before glueing down the designer paper layer, I adhered a piece of the new 1/4″ Bumblebee Gingham Trim across the middle. Then I slipped that Just Jade die-cut underneath the ribbon with the greeting popped up on Dimensionals over the center. I also tied a little ribbon knot on each side of the greeting.

For just a final touch, I added three of the little Bumblebee dots in the 2020 In Color Enamel Dots. These dots were so popular they are out of stock right now but should be back in about two weeks. Get some because the colors are so pretty!

I think I am liking the new 2020-2022 In Colors this year! I ordered the 2020-2022 In Color 8 1/2″ x 11″ Assortment as well as the 12″ x 12″ assortment. That way I have some of all the colors and if I like certain colors a lot, then I can order the packages of single colors.

Have fun checking out all the new products in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog!
