Flowers For Every Season Thank You Slimline Card

If you are looking to make a “happy card”, look no further than this Flowers For Every Season Thank You Slimline Card! Some days you just need something “happy” and the flowers and colors in this pretty paper will improve anyone’s mood or day!

This is what is called a slimline card since it is long and narrow. You can make these cards longer and a little less narrow and they will still fit in a business-size envelope. Since this paper is 6″ x 6″, I thought 6″ wide would be plenty slim-enough. Half a sheet of the designer paper would fit on the card front. This card will fit in that smaller regular size envelope that people use, not our good Stampin’ Up! envelopes.

For this card, I just made a card base of Whisper White at 6″ x 6″ folded in half to 6″ x 3″. I chose two patterns of the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper for this card. There isn’t any margin, the designer paper is the full size of the card base. Actually the flowers and the polka dots are the same sheet of paper, opposite sides. I just cut each piece wide enough to overlap on the front of the card and adhered a ribbon across the seam of the two papers. It’s a very easy card to make.

The ribbon is the pretty Magenta Madness In Color Ribbon. I adhered it around the designer paper layer and then adhered the designer paper to the card base. I also tied a knot on each side of the greeting.

The greeting is in the Blossoms In Bloom Stamp Set. I wanted it to fit on this particular circle die cut so I stamped the words individually one above the other. Make sure the stamp is completely clean so you don’t get a bit of ink where you don’t want it. It is stamped in Just Jade Ink to match the polka dot paper, then die-cut with that pretty circle in the Tasteful Labels Dies. As extra little accents on the greeting, I cut out by hand a few flowers from the designer paper and adhered them to the greeting die cut. The greeting is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals®

If you would like to try something a little bit different but easy, try one of these narrow, slimline cards. Here is another one I made recently that I really liked making.

While we are all getting excited and beginning to get wrapped up in making holiday cards and projects out of the new August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, let’s not forget the pretty things in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. There is still time for colorful flowers like on this lovely designer paper and we could all use some bright and happy colors and cards in our lives right now so try something like this Flowers For Every Season Thank You Slimline Card.

Flowers For Every Season Thank You Card

Flowers For Every Season Thank You Card

If you are in need of a cheerful, bright, and happy card, you most likely will want to choose this designer paper I used on my Flowers For Every Season Thank You Card. The bright florals on this piece of designer paper goes with the new In Color, Magenta Madness and that’s about all you need!

The card base is Whisper White with a Magenta Madness layer. I added a strip of the Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper just to the side. You can make it whatever width you want. Almost any of the papers in this package are sure to brighten someone’s day!

The greeting is stamped with Magenta Madness ink on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with the So Sentimental Stamp Set. This greeting fits perfectly in this die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I love the stitched border around this die!

This is such a simple card design! Anyone can make it and you can change the greeting for lots of other occasions. And for just a little embellishment, I tied a bow with the Magenta Madness 1/4″ 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon and adhered it with a couple of Mini Glue Dots.

If you like the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper, here is another card I made using this paper.

When you need some quick and easy cards, this card is the way to go!

Jar of Flowers Daisies Card

Jar of Flowers Daisies

This Jar of Flowers Daisies Card was fun and easy to make, especially when it matched so nicely with the designer paper I already had on an unfinished card. Sometimes your creative card ideas can just come from the pile of stuff on your table!!

The card base is Whisper White Cardstock with a layer of the new In Color, Magenta Madness, which I am loving! It’s a little shocking when you first see it in person but it grows on you! Then I had added a strip of daisies in the Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and adhered a piece of Magenta Madness 1/4″ Ribbon, plus tied on a bow. I already had this card made to this point except for the bow when I found it on my desk and thought I should just finish it off!

I stamped the jar in the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set in Memento Ink and colored in some water with the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. I also stamped the flower stems and colored those with the Old Olive Stampin’ Blend with some shading of Mossy Meadow. Then the jar was punched out with the Jar Punch. I always forget there aren’t dies with this stamp set for the flowers!

For the flowers, since the designer paper had daisies on it, I used the Medium Daisy Punch to punch out six daisies so I would have two daisies layered for each flower. I glued these two layers together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue but then popped them up (the two front daisies) with Stampin’ Dimensionals® on the card. I decided to add some little lines in pink on each petal to copy the designer paper. I just used one of my Stampin’ Blends but you could also use a Stampin’ Write Marker or not do it at all! I also used my Perennial Essence Floral Centers (retired) in the center.

The jar is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals with the two front flowers, as I mentioned. the third daisy in the back , at the top, is just glued right onto the card front.

Besides not having much room, I liked the card as is and decided to even try to add a greeting. You don’t have to on every card although we usually do. But we don’t have to!

It’s flower season in the heat of summer so try out that Flowers For Every Season DSP and flower stamps or the flower dies and daisy punches! Soon we will be starting on holiday projects! Yikes!

Here is another card I made with both sizes of daisy punches and you can see another choice to use for the flower center, also retired, but you can substitute the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

This Jar of Flowers Daisies Card would make a bright and happy card to send to someone or give with a gift.

Artistry Blooms Friendship Card

Artistry Blooms Friendship Card

We’ve had some really rainy, stormy days here in Houston this week so I thought a bright and happy card was in order like this Artistry Blooms Friendship Card. It’s a quick and easy card to make as is, or you can even make it easier with no die-cutting or more dressed up with additional layers and embellishments.

The card base is the new In Color Magenta Madness Cardstock. The Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper is amazing with its brushstroke design and also plainer gradient designs on the other sides. This paper can brighten up any cards and projects! I even added a layer of Daffodil Delight Cardstock underneath the designer paper just to brighten it up a bit more.

The greeting is from the So Sentimental Stamp Set which has greetings for many occasions in the fun larger fonts mostly. I used one of the Tasteful Labels Dies to cut out the greeting, which fit perfectly. However, there is a die set, the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, that goes with the So Sentimental Stamp Set that you can purchase in a Bundle. This is a great set to have as well! We can never have too many sentiments and greetings to use on our cards and dies with which to cut them out!

To finish off this card, I punched a hole in each end of the greeting with my old Cropadile, but you can use any hole punch, and ran the Magenta Madness 1/4″ In Color Ribbon through the holes and tied a knot in each side. I also added the ribbon running across the card and around the back, going underneath the greeting. The greeting is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals®. You could also add some sequins to the card or the In Color Enamel Dots (when they back in stock!).

Don’t be afraid of the Magenta Madness color! I am really liking it! You will likely be toning it down with other papers or using just bits of it to add a touch of brightness and pizzazz to your project. Here is a card I made using Magenta Madness Cardstock in the paper and embellishments.

We don’t always have to make complicated cards or fancy designs. If you are short on time or energy or just want something simple, try a design like this Artistry Blooms Friendship Card.
