Garden Lane Paper Strips Thank You Card

Garden Lane Paper Strips Thank You Card

You don’t always have to know exactly what card you are going to make when you start as I didn’t know exactly when I started on this Garden Lane Paper Strips Thank You Card. I simply started looking at my designer paper choices. I had been seeing some cards made with strips of designer paper lately although they were cut on angles. I thought I would just try cutting some scrap strips and see how they would fit if I made a card.

Well, it turned out that cutting strips from the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 3/4″ made a perfect fit for the top layer of the card. I chose Mint Macaron for the card base, one of the coordinating colors of the designer paper. Instead of gluing the strips right onto the Mint Macaron card base, I adhered them to a piece of Whisper White so I wouldn’t get them crooked or something! If you do this, then you can always do a little trimming if you need to before you adhere the strip piece to the card front.

Because I already had a stamped die-cut piece in my scraps I could see how it would look on the front of this card for the greeting. I played around with what to use for layers and what colors. Then I stamped “Thank You” from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set in Mint Macaron Ink .and die-cut with a die from the Stitched Labels Dies. This greeting was then layered over Whisper White and Mint Macaron scalloped Layering Circles Dies. You could even add a bit of Whisper White ribbon or bows but I decided to stop. Sometimes you have to know when to stop when you are creating!

This was a fun Easter card I made wit the Garden Lane Paper in the background!

This Garden Lane Designer Series Paper is retiring on June 2 as are all the designer papers in the current catalogs. This one is discounted! Be sure to choose the ones you want to have before they sell out or are gone.

Garden Lane Easter Bunny Card

Garden Lane Easter Bunny Card

Today I needed to make an Easter card for my son that was a little less frilly than the ones I already made and I had something in mind, but not this Garden Lane Easter Bunny Card. But once I started looking at my designer papers for the one I was going to use, I saw this Garden Lane Designer Series Paper and I thought that leafy pattern would go well with a bunny!

The card base is Garden Green but there are other greens that go with the paper. For the scalloped Layering Circle Die underneath the bunny, I chose Pool Party because it looked like it matched the bluish leaves a little bit.

The bunny from the Welcome Easter Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Ink and die cut with the Stitched Shapes Die. Then I had fun coloring him in with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.

The Easter greeting is from the same Welcome Easter Stamp Set and is just stamped on a strip of Whisper White. The bunny and the greeting are both popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That’s all there is to this card! The Garden Lane Easter Bunny Card is an easy and fun card to make!

Garden Lane Daisy Card

Garden Lane Daisy Card

Sometimes all you have to do is look at a package of designer paper and a certain pattern jumps out at you and demands you make a card with it such as this Garden Lane Daisy Card. This is a very easy card to make if you have the two daisy punches and would be a wonderful way to encourage a friend or loved one with this greeting.

You may already have the Daisy Punch from a previous catalog that coordinates with the Daisy Delight Stamp Set. Did you know there is a new, smaller Medium Daisy Punch in the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog? You can use this punch on its own or stack with the larger Daisy Punch. And it has a new stamp set that coordinates with it, Daisy Lane. That gives you two punches and two stamp sets, all involving daisies, with which you can make beautiful cards and projects!

The card base for this card is the Whisper White THICK Cardstock. While not absolutely necessary, if you would like a little more sturdiness to your card, using the Thick cardstock is a little better than the regular Whisper White. As I said, I chose a pattern from the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper. There is something about this paper, to me, that looks so fresh and calming. Maybe it is the greenery look to it. Back to nature!

First I was going to just use the Medium Daisy Punch, with two flowers together on this card, but then I decided to use it with the larger daisy punch in the center of this card. I just punched two daisies of each size and glued them all together with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then the one large flower was adhered to the card front. If you like, you can curl the ends of the petals a little with a Bone Folder to make the flower stand off the card a little bit. In the center, I placed a Gold Faceted Gem.

The greeting is stamped with Garden Green Ink from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set. You can purchase the Medium Daisy Punch with this stamp set in the Daisy Lane Bundle and save 10% if you like!

Garden Lane Daisy All-Occasion Card

Garden Lane Daisy All-Occasion Card

This Garden Lane Daisy All-Occasion Card could be sent to a friend or loved one just to let them know you were thinking about them. It is a fairly easy card to make and you could make it even easier if you wanted to.

The card base is Mossy Meadow, one of the cardstock colors that coordinate with the new Garden Lane Designer Series Paper. I thought this paper was just pretty with all its greenery and small designs and would be good for many projects. Sometimes we don’t need the fanciest paper in the world!

I liked this simple little print paper on the Mossy Meadow cardstock. Since it has some white in the background, I punched a white daisy (two daisies) with the Daisy Punch and adhered it in the corner with a Gold Faceted Gem in the center.

For the greeting, I chose one that could be for an all-occasion card from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set. I already had a Mossy Meadow die cut piece, which I used, and originally thought I would just put a stamped white strip across the middle of it. Then I thought why not die cut the tip of the white strip with the same Stitched Nested Labels Dies. That’s what I did, plus put the die cut piece right up against the edge of the designer paper.

For an extra embellishment, I added a piece of Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon under the greeting.

If you wanted to make the card even simpler, you could omit the greeting and just tie a simple ribbon around the left side of the card.

Inside the card, since the cardstock is dark, I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock with a strip of the Garden Lane DSP at the bottom.

Consider the Garden Lane Designer Paper if you like green, if you like designs with greenery! I think this paper will turn out to be a well-used design in many cards. There is also a matching stamp set, Verdant Garden, that you can purchase with the paper and save 10% in the Garden Lane Suite Bundle.
