Penguin Punch Christmas Gift Tags

Penguin Punch Christmas Gift Tags

If you don’t already own the Penguin Builder Punch, run and get it on the Stampin’ Up! Clearance Rack so you can make these Penguin Punch Christmas Gift Tags! I can’t believe it is still available but it is marked down to $4.50 instead of $19.00! You may as well buy one for that price! Or you may already have one from a previous catalog so dig it out and make something fun for Christmas!

I thought it would be fun to make a couple of gift tags using the Penguin Punch and some new designer series paper. You can use a tag die that you have or cut your own rectangle and then cut the top corners at an angle. I intended to use the tag die in the new Merriest Trees Dies (coming soon!) but then I came across the Tailor Made Tags Dies. If you have those, just use either of the die shapes.

I cut out a piece of designer series paper and cardstock for each of the tags. That makes them both the same size so you can’t layer them, but I just trimmed off inside the stitched marks on the designer paper, which made it fit just inside the stitched lines of the cardstock tag.

The Penguin tag on the left is made with Poppy Parade Cardstock and the Fa La La La La pattern in the Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper (161945). This paper is so bright and happy, you will love it! I adhered the designer paper onto the cardstock tag and popped the penguin up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a finishing touch, I got the idea to just cut out a short strand of the Christmas lights on another of the papers and put it on the tag up at the top. If you want, you can put a piece of Basic White on the back of the tag if you think you need something to write your “To & From” on or a personal message.

The penguin tag on the right is made with Misty Moonlight cardstock and the snowflake paper in the Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper (162015). Before I adhered the penguin with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I got the idea to cut out some trees from the A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper (162377). It’s the paper at the top of page 5 in the Holiday Mini so don’t miss it. Maybe some dies would have cut out some of these little trees but I didn’t look! (Actually, some dies will cut out the fuller trees, not the skinny straight ones.) For a greeting, I used one in the Brightest Glow Stamp Set but cut the words apart and cut them smaller so they would fit on the tag.

The penguins are super easy to make with the punch. Just cut the two pieces out of black and white and the little feet out of Pumpkin Pie cardstock or something similar. I do not have the coordinating stamp set so I just drew in the little black eyes with a marker and the little beak with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker. If you want, you could add a scarf around his neck or make a little hat.

The die punches out the hole in the tag so you don’t have to do that. Just pick a ribbon you like to tie through the hole so your tag is ready to go when you start wrapping gifts!

Remember to check out the Clearance Rack and see what other bargains you need plus the Penguin Punch!

Love, Santa Tag Kit Christmas Card

Love, Santa Tag Kit Christmas Card

The other day I had so much fun making all the tags in the Love, Santa Kit to be ready for holiday gift-wrapping! But if you didn’t need all the tags, you could use some (or all!) to make Christmas cards to send like this Love, Santa Tag Kit Christmas Card.

To make this card, I use clipped off the hole at the top of the tree that would hold the string to tie on a tag. You could also leave the hole and string attached and adhere it rather loosely to the card so that maybe the recipient would remove the tag and use it themselves or hang it on their Christmas tree. When I was growing up we used to get a Christmas card from someone who was quite wealthy and the fancy card could be used as an ornament on the tree! I’ll always remember that!

To make this card, I relied on the coordinating colors listed in the Love, Santa Tag Kit so I chose Just Jade for the card base and a layer of Poppy Parade. That layer I embossed using the Tasteful Texture 3D Embossing Folder. You wouldn’t have to do it but it adds a little “something”. Just because I wanted to, I added a tree trunk from Cinnamon Cider Cardstock to the base of the tree. Then I adhered the tree to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals®. If you thought, or you wanted, the recipient to remove the tree from the card and use it as a tag or ornament, I would just adhere it with maybe two Dimensionals, maybe even the Mini Dimensionals or cut the Dimensionals down to a smaller size, top and bottom, and tell them how to carefully remove the tag.

The tree tag already had some jewels adhered to it that came with the kit, but I also added some to the Poppy Parade layer of the card. I couldn’t resist! It’s for Christmas anyway and that calls for sparkle and glimmer wherever possible!

On the inside, adhere a layer of Basic White with a stamped message and maybe some other stamped image or strip of designer paper to decorate and sign your name or write your own personal message.

This Love, Santa Tag Kit is a fun one to work with because the tags are such “happy” and colorful images. Even though it is for making tags for gifts, as you can see, you can use some or all of them for card fronts and make some quick cards to send! Or use them on the extra Love, Santa Treat Bags! Even if you don’t want or can’t get the kit, you might be interested in these cute treat bags with images printed in white that coordinate with the tags and are food safe. If you are someone who makes special treats for the holidays to give to neighbors and friends, these bags would be perfect! Even if you have a regular gift, wrap tissue paper around it and put it in the cello bag and tie on a tag! I know a gift shop that gift wraps items like this.

It’s time to be shopping for supplies you need for Christmas cards, projects, and gifts! We should all be trying to get an early start on all our holiday tasks to keep ourselves from getting rushed at the last minute! If you already have the Love, Santa Tag Kit be sure to put it together and enjoy yourself!

Easy To Make Love, Santa Tag Kit

Love, Santa Tag Kit Contents

I got my new Love, Santa Tag Kit the other day and got busy making all the tags yesterday afternoon! It only took about an hour to make them all and that was while simultaneously watching the Astros – Red Sox playoff game! (The Astros won 9 – 1 !!!!!) You can see the contents in the photo above….. an exclusive stamp set, a stamping block, ink spot, tags and pieces to stamp, adhesives, and even some gems! Plus the string to tie on to packages! It’s really a cute kit!

Each tag has a stamped greeting layered with other pieces for interest. There are even extra blank pieces to stamp in case you mess up! Just adhere the stamped greeting to each tag. The directions show you which kind of adhesive to put on the back of each piece.

Love, Santa Tag Kit 4 Tags

And when you get all twelve tags finished, three each of four designs, just tie on the string to be ready to go on packages! Or purchase the coordinating treat bags and use the tags on special treats or gifts you are giving.

The Love, Santa Treat Bags are beautiful, food-safe cellophane bags that are perfect to fill with scrumptious treats and goodies. The white-printed designs are festive like frosted windowpanes and directly coordinate with the Love, Santa Tags! You get 12 treat bags, 3 each of 4 designs.

And when the tags were all put together, I got out the gems in the kit. At first, I thought they only went on the “Joy” tag, but then I saw they actually went on all the tags! And I just used up ALL the gems, putting them on all the tags! But you could use only the 2-3 on each tag and save the extras for other projects, but I just wanted to use them all! Why not?!

You can even watch a video of putting the kit together with Sara Douglass!

Making Paper Pumpkin Christmas Tags After Christmas!

Paper Pumpkin November 2019 Christmas Tags

It’s okay to make Paper Pumpkin Christmas Tags AFTER Christmas! These are from the November 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit and I just didn’t get to them before Christmas.

These are cute Christmas tags, which I could have used during gift-wrapping time! At least I’ll have a head start for next Christmas! These turned out so cute when I got them all put together. There were six of each of four designs of tags in the kit. Some people made cards out of the elements in the kit. Once you get the kit, you can do whatever you like with the supplies!

There are always projects I didn’t get to do before Christmas and when things calm down after Christmas it seems like a good time to go ahead and work on them! In some cases, I might even have “late” Christmas gifts that I put off because I won’t see the people until after the holidays anyway! Yes, I have two friends who usually don’t have time for our gift exchange until after the holidays (or even WAY after the holidays!) but we don’t care. It’s all about the getting together, not the timing! So whatever the reason, perhaps you also do Christmas projects after the holidays!

If you would like to get a head-start on a Paper Pumpkin subscription, today is the first day to subscribe for the February 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit! The first hints are that it is about birthday cards! And we all like to stock up on birthday cards at the beginning of the year! You can even purchase a Prepaid Paper Pumpkin Subscription in the Online Store along with your regular order, perhaps boosting your order to get more FREE Sale-A-Bration items or bump you up to Hostess Rewards. Or just join by the month.

Are you still playing with Christmas projects you didn’t have time to do earlier? Or even getting a head start on Christmas cards for next year? It’s okay and from experience, I can tell you it’s a good idea to make Christmas tags any time of year!

Paper Pumpkin Winter Wonders 2019 Holiday Kits

Paper Pumpkin Winter Wonders 2019

If you enjoy holiday craft projects, especially ones that come in a special edition box in perfect packaging, delivered straight to your mailbox for you to open up and begin crafting immediately, then you probably will love to get these October and November Paper Pumpkin Winter Wonders 2019 Holiday Kits.

The October and November Paper Pumpkin Kits are coordinating, back-to-back kits to help you with your holiday giving. Everyone loves the holiday kits and they are useful as well as fun!

October Kit

Kit details: Makes 10 cards and envelopes

Envelope size: 4-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ (11.4 x 14.6 cm)

November Kit

Kit details: Makes 24 holiday-themed gift tags of 4 various sizes and designs.
Coordinating colors: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, and Shaded Spruce

The October and November kits coordinate; however, each kit is all-inclusive and can stand alone.

How great would that be to know you will have a pre-planned kit to make 10 Christmas cards to send, even if you are a regular cardmaker and have some other card designs you want to make for Christmas. I like to make many different designs of cards that I send out for Christmas!

This also means that by the end of October, you surely will have at least ten cards made for the holidays so that is ten less that you will have to rush to make at the last minute!

Then in November, you will get the second kit with designs and supplies to make tags for gifts. If you don’t need tags, use them to make more cards if you like! But usually, we always need more tags! I know I have run out to the store at the last minute in past years for MORE tags for presents!

To get one or both of these kits (with no obligation to continue your subscription, but you probably will want to!), just sign up HERE at my Paper Pumpkin website! Just remember the deadline is October 10th to get the October kit, and if you don’t subscribe then, the deadline for the November kit will be November 10th. Save yourself the effort of remembering and just subscribe NOW!

Another option is to purchase a subscription on your Stampin’ Up! order in the Online Store! This may help you reach $150 or more on your order and thus get Stampin’ Rewards! You will get an email from Stampin’ Up! telling you how to set up your Paper Pumpkin account and a code to use to register your prepaid kits. It’s easy. Decide which method works best for you. Even if you have a subscription to Paper Pumpkin, you can add a subscription to your Stampin’ Up! order, use those prepaid kits in your account, and then it will revert back to your monthly subscription.
