July 4th Red White & Blue Treat Box

July 4th Red White & Blue Treat Box

Tomorrow will be July 4th and if you are looking for a little treat box or even a decoration or a card for the 4th of July, you can use this July 4th Red White & Blue Treat Box idea! It’s always fun to make a little something for every holiday!

For this project, I used one of the Sweet Little Boxes (which just retired from the Spring Mini but you may have one around!). You can use whatever box you have or make one! You could make a little 2-4-6-8 bag and decorate it this way! I simply used pieces of red, white, and blue cardstock to decorate the front of the box – Real Red, Basic White, and Starry Sky.

For a decoration, I always like stars, but for this box, I die cut a gold foil circle from the All That Dies. Then I used the retired Playful Alphabet Dies to cut out the U, S, and A. The little red hearts are die cut from the Teacup Dies. And since I still had the Resin Stars from the Hey Sports Fan Suite that just retired in the Spring Mini, I added a few of the yellow stars to the front of the box.

Inside the box, you can put a cookie or piece of candy or some other little small gift. Or just use it for a decoration for the 4th of July! Or, copy the front of the box and make it into a card. Whatever you think of!

Just have fun making a little something patriotic before you go out to watch fireworks!

Happy 4th of July tomorrow!

4th of July Fireworks USA Birthday Card

4th of July Fireworks USA Birthday Card

This 4th of July Fireworks USA Birthday Card was made in a rather odd way! The other day I was trying to think what stamp set or dies could be made to look like fireworks on a card for the 4th of July. Then I saw an idea online to use one of the seed pods or whatever it is in the Enjoy The Moment Stamp Set! I got out a piece of scrap paper and experimented! I thought it would work along with some smaller stamps in other stamp sets! And I ended up with a fireworks card for the 4th of July that was fun to make!

The card base is Real Red Cardstock with a Basic White layer. The “balls” on the card are the seed pod. There are two together on the stamp so I colored the stamp with Real Red on one, Pacific Point blue on another, and sometimes Daffodil Delight. I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to do this. Then I found some little flowers on one stamp in the Artistically Inked Stamp Set. Since they have that kind of watercolor look to them, I thought they didn’t necessarily look like flowers, they could look like little fireworks! I colored those with red, blue, and yellow markers.

After I had all the fireworks stamped, I used the tiny dots in the Artistically Inked Stamp Set to stamp on top of the stamped fireworks and even just randomly in the background with Versamark Ink. Next, I dumped on some Heat & Stick Powder and shook off the excess, then heated with my Heat Tool. After that, I dumped the stamped piece into the Gilded Leafing. It had been a while since I had used this technique so I wasn’t sure I remembered how to do it. I rubbed off the excess leafing with my hands and then with a piece of sponge, although I think before I had used an old stencil brush. Whatever is gentle on the leafing that works for you is okay. That gave my fireworks some gold glimmer!

4th of July Fireworks USA Birthday Card Closeup

Here is another card I made using some kind of snowflake stamps to look like fireworks! Look through your stamps, old and new, and see what you can use. Don’t forget stars – stars are great for any celebration!

The greeting is in the Blossoms In Bloom Stamp Set. I used Real Red for the diecut from the Ornate Frames Dies as a layer under the greeting. I originally planned to use the Playful Alphabet Dies to spell out USA but I ran out of room. I just used a Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Marker and wrote in USA at the bottom of the greeting plus added some little blue stars! And for extra bling, besides the Gilded Leafing, I added some In Color Jewels randomly on the card.

I won’t be sending this card since the 4th is tomorrow, but I will set it out somewhere with some 4th of July decorations! I like my little fireworks with the Gilded Leafing to spiff it up!

Have a Happy 4th of July tomorrow and this weekend to celebrate our wonderful country! Hope you get to see some fireworks or stamp your own on a card like my 4th of July Fireworks USA Birthday Card.

Sweet Ice Cream 4th of July Bars

Sweet Ice Cream 4th of July Bars

Finally, I got to play with the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set and since it’s so close to the holiday, I made them into Sweet Ice Cream 4th of July Bars! I got the idea from a t-shirt design I saw online! You never know where inspiration will come from! As I played around with stamping the ice cream bars, I ended up with five of them and by golly, I was determined to use all five on this card!

The card base is Pacific Point Cardstock. You could certainly use another color of blue. The layer is, of course, Real Red. The ice cream bars were stamped on Basic White and then cut out by hand and adhered to the top Basic White layer of the card.

The Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set comes with ice cream bar shapes, ice cream cones, and scoops of ice cream, sprinkles, and wonderful greetings to use for many occasions. The ice cream bars have a kind of a textured look to the stamp and are actually two-step stamping as you put the top and bottom of the ice cream bar (or popsicle) together. I tried to leave some white area on the bars so I would have red, white, and blue. Even on these bars, it was good to put a few sprinkles with red or blue for some added interest.

To ink up these stamps, I used regular ink pads and sometimes also Stampin’ Write Markers in Real Red and Pacific Point. These markers are good for coloring right on the stamp however you like to put the color where you want it. I even colored on my own stripes using these markers, just drawing them in after I stamped the ice cream bar. The little popsicle sticks are stamped by coloring the edge with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker and then coloring in with the same color. I just glued the sticks to the back of the ice cream with a dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The three background ice cream bars are adhered right to the card. The two front ice cream bars are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is in the stamp set and is stamped in Real Red Ink. I love the greeting on this card!

And that’s it! Now you have a patriotic card in red, white, and blue for the 4th of July holiday! Here’s another card I made YEARS AGO for July 4th!

Stitched Stars 4th of July Patriotic Card

Stitched Stars 4th of July Patriotic Card

Let’s celebrate with this Stitched Stars 4th of July Patriotic Card because that special day when we celebrate our country is coming up on Saturday! It seems amazing that it is July already! The weather outside does tell me that it is July, though! This year we aren’t having our fireworks displays here so we just have to create our own fireworks by making cards and other 4th of July projects! Use them for decorations in your home!

This red, white, and blue card is designed to make us think of fireworks and patriotism for our country with colors and gleam from the foil paper. The card base is my favorite color, Real Red, with a blue layer of one of the new In Colors, Misty Moonlight. Night of Navy would be another good choice or even Pacific Point. The stars are arranged on a layer of Whisper White.

The stars are all die-cut with the Stitched Stars Dies which first came out in the last holiday catalog. There was also a coordinating stamp set, So Many Stars, in case you still have that. That stamp set retired but the dies survived! I have always said stars, whether stamps or dies are so handy to have to all kinds of congratulatory or celebratory cards and projects.

I die-cut the “flourish” in the die set out of both Gold Foil and Silver Foil Sheets and saved all the stars that poked out of that. That way I could adhere the gold foil flourish to the front of the card and also use the silver foil stars on the card. Then I also die-cut a few red and blue stars out of the set to add to the card. If I would think ahead, it would be a good idea to use Adhesive Sheets before die-cutting on the back of the paper so they would already have adhesive on the back like a sticker. Then there would be no messy glueing with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue! But if you are really careful and put the teeny tiniest dots of glue on these thin lines, you can use it successfully.

The greeting is from the Many Mates Stamp Set, which I’m finding I turn to a lot for sentiments since it has such a good assortment! You might want to add it to your list! The greeting is stamped with the Misty Moonlight In Color Ink and layered on a scrap of Real Red punched at one end with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch.

I added a Gold Glitter Enamel Dot to the punched piece, but I couldn’t stop myself! I added some more to the card area around the stars with the next larger size of dots. I think that was the finishing touch!

Colorful Seasons 4th of July Card

Colorful Seasons 4th of July Card

It’s time for fireworks so here is a Colorful Seasons 4th of July Card all ready to inspire you to make some kind of fun card for the 4th of July! Can you believe it is July 1st already?!

I don’t have a “4th of July” stamp set so I had to use what I had. I looked through some stamp sets looking for something I could use for fireworks. I noticed these little stamps in the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set that I stamped in Real Red and Night of Navy Inks. I used the stamp that was half that image but stamped it on both sides to make the firework, but I also see in the stamp set there is one stamp that would have made a full image! Oh well. I think mine came out all right! The Crushed Curry fireworks are actually the tops of palm trees from the Waterfront Stamp Set!

The chairs are stamped from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set. Originally I was going to die cut the Adirondack style chairs in the set of Seasonal Layers Dies but then I changed my mind and stamped these cloth folding chairs, something more like we will take to watch fireworks Thursday night.

The background on the card is stamped with images from the Waterfront Stamp Set for the grass and some blue sky. I used my Aqua Painter to soften the ink a little bit, although you can’t use much water on Whisper White Cardstock. You could also just sponge on some ink for a background. I do love that Waterfront Stamp Set after ignoring it when it first came out!

I didn’t add a greeting, mainly because there wasn’t any good space to put one! Maybe I will add one later or just stamp something on Whisper White cardstock inside the card.

And Stampin’ Up! has a July special! BONUS DAYS!
