Florals In Bloom Foldover Birthday Card

Florals In Bloom Foldover Birthday Card

IMPORTANT ABOUT THIS SALE: The Online Cart computer will not think like our (my!) brain thinks so in getting the BOGO 50% off price, think in terms of similarly priced items. The Cart will discount the lowest priced item(s) of Suites in your cart. If you order two Suites, you get 50% off the lower-priced Suite. If you order ribbon in a Suite and add it on the same order as the Suites, the Cart will discount the ribbon since it is the lowest-priced item, not the second Suite that you were “pairing” in your mind with the first Suite as the one you wanted as a discount. If you order two Suites and two rolls of ribbon, the Cart will discount the two rolls of ribbon, not one Suite and one roll of ribbon. Get it?! It’s still a great sale, we just have to have our thinking caps on and I did not until I saw this in a forum online! But you can add items NOT in Suites because they won’t qualify to be discounted anyway. ALSO: The Last Chance list has been updated so you might find more discounts. Go check! The Sale includes Annual Catalog Suites, Online Exclusives Suites (and preorder of new ones for Demos), and Last Chance Suites.

Today, June 3rd, is the first day of the Stampin’ Up! Suite Sale – BOGO Suite or Suite product and get one Suite or Suite product 50% off with the lower price discounted! This special new promotion from Stampin’ Up! started today but goes the whole month of June! You can read more of the details on my blog post yesterday HERE.

I made this Florals In Bloom Foldover Birthday Card to commemorate this new special for all of us. For example, if you loved this designer series paper in the Florals In Bloom Suite and you also wanted one of the Bundles, you could buy the Bundle and get the designer paper 50% off! Or you could purchase the whole Florals In Bloom Suite and then choose another Suite 50% off! Mixing and matching is allowed as long as they are Suites or products within a Suite. So you can buy one pack of designer paper in one suite and choose another designer paper in another suite and get the lower-priced one 50% off! So even though the sale is about “Suites”, it’s all pretty flexible as long as the product is contained in a Suite or the Suite itself.

This card has a Darling Duckling cardstock base. Darling Duckling is one of the new In Colors for 2025-2027. But this card is folded a little differently just to make it interesting! The card base is cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ as usual. Instead of scoring in the middle, this card has an extra little side fold. I don’t know what the correct term is if there is one, but I’m calling it the “Foldover” card. Score at 1 1/4″ and 5 1/4″. Fold and crease the score lines. This will give you a fold over on the right which meets the front of the card. That narrow fold can overlap the card front or tuck under. For my card, I will tuck it under the focal point of the card with the greeting. You can do it either way.

The Florals In Bloom Designer Series Paper is cut at 3″ x 5 1/4″ for the front of the card. The fold on the right side has the other side of the patterned paper and is cut at 1″ x 5 1/4″. If you want to put a Basic White cardstock inside, it would be cut at 3 3/4″ 5 1/4″.

For the focal point of the card, I diecut a large circle in the Spotlight On Nature Dies in Basic White cardstock. I love these dies with the bordered edge designs! I cut out several of the flowers with my Paper Snips scissors to decorate the diecut. The greeting is stamped in Strawberry Slush ink and diecut using the More Messages Bundle. You can do one greeting at a time or stamp the whole stamp at one time and cut out all the messages at one time, then save them. I also added a few of the Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink Gems. The greeting is popped up on the diecut circle and the circle is also popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. If you want the side fold to tuck under the circle, it might be better to not pop it up with Dimensionals, but it is okay.

Wildflower Birthday Tag Card

Wildflower Birthday Tag Card

I wish I could express to you how easy this card was to make! I had no plans in mind except to use the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper and out came this Wildflower Birthday Tag Card. I had forgotten about the two sheets of paper in the package that are full of individual tags and images that you can cut apart and use on your cards and projects. You also get two sheets of diecuts which are so fun to use! This designer paper is so pretty for a birthday but lots of other occasions as well. It is definitely not all birthday.

This card has a base of Basic White cardstock and a layer of Peach Pie cardstock. The green dotted designer paper is “the other side” of one of the themed papers in the Wildflower Birthday package. It’s so soft and pretty.

The tag is cut out of the sheet of tags and images I mentioned that also come in this Specialty paper. There are flowers, cakes, and balloons plus others. Just cut them apart and use them on your project. I chose this floral bouquet with a Peach Pie top of the tag. That’s why I added a thin layer of Peach Pie underneath the designer paper. That’s the only thing that took me any time – deciding on just the designer paper on the card base and on which color? White or Peach Pie? I just left a narrow margin of the Peach Pie peeking out under the Soft Sea Foam designer paper pattern and I liked the white card base. However, using Peach Pie for the card base was pretty too!

The tag is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals with a Peach Pie 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon bow adhered to the top. I don’t usually like things placed on an angle, but I liked it on this card! The greeting practically fell out of the package of words in the Saying Something Ephemera Pack so I figured it was the greeting to use! I also added a few Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink Gems in the clear color. Even though the name mentions two colors, there is actually three colors in the package!

If you don’t already own the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper I’d recommend putting it on your shopping list because you can make lots of cards or scrapbook pages with it!

Please don’t hesitate to ask if you need more information that I can provide! The Retreat is a ways off in July but depending on interest, the kits Stampin’ Up! has prepared could sell out as they only have a limited amount of kits. They went on sale yesterday so check it out! When you are finished with the retreat, you will have a two-page spread for each month of the year….and of course, you can modify your pages as you go! If you prefer the layout or colors on the February spread to be for April, just change the month. No Scrapbooking Police will be checking on how you make your own pages! 🙂

Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog Cover 2025-2026

Here are a few more videos from Stampin’ Up! that you might enjoy! I love looking at these to see the new products showcased so well! Have you worn out your new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog yet from looking through it over and over again? I think every time I page through it I find something new. Besides the new catalog, we also have many products in the Online Exclusives. Even though it’s a little inconvenient to not have all our products in one catalog, the advantage is we don’t have to wait for the next catalog to get new products. Stampin’ Up! can release new Online Exclusives every two months for us! And rather than the Clearance Rack or even immediate Retirement Lists, we have the Last Chance List where products will stay while supplies last. Some are discounted and prices may be adjusted over time, but it’s nice to have those items still available longer even though they are “retiring”.

One of my favorite products, in recent catalogs, are the Ephemera Packs. This video showcases the newest cards & envelopes plus ephemera packs, all of the things you can Mix & Match!

Stampin’ Up! has recently returned to an emphasis on scrapbooking with lots of new products and kits. Of course, products for scrapbooking and cardmaking are almost always interchangeable, but it’s nice for scrapbookers to have more choices these days. I think the older we get and we look back at our own family and ancestors, the more we realize the importance of memory-keeping in whatever form it takes. Whether you make very detailed, exquisite pages for your photos in fantastic albums, or you make some easy pages decorated with photos and (very importantly) journaling! Someday somebody is going to look through these pages and be so happy that family events or even just images of our daily lives are recorded. Enjoy this video about specific scrapbooking products in the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

And popular with a lot of people, who like to make things but don’t have as many supplies as many of us have, or just want to open a box and have a fun project to make, easy enough for anyone, even beginning crafters, are the Kits in the Kits Collection! Two or maybe sometimes three new Kits are released every month! Here are videos about the two Kits released in May 2025.

Enjoy the weekend by relaxing with your new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog whether you have a hard copy in your hands or like to browse online! If you missed a previous post with other videos of the new products, CLICK HERE to see them!

Floral Impressions Yellow Daisies Thank You Card

Floral Impressions Yellow Daisies Thank You Card

The design of this card came from the layout of one I saw online, but it’s the paper and products that I used that makes it different. All I had to do was look through one of the floral papers and the exact idea came to me for this Floral Impressions Yellow Daisies Thank You Card. You will find this paper in the Online Exclusives, one of the new May 2025 additions.

The card base is Garden Green with a layer of paper with foliage designs and a few smaller flowers. This Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper has many pretty images to choose from in lots of different ways. I chose this particular pattern because I hoped that I could also use the large flowers on another one of the papers to make the focal point of the card. Do you like it or is it too busy? I think I like it.

To help the large yellow daisies stand out, I die cut one of the long shapes in the Nested Essentials Dies. It is cut out of Garden Green cardstock although I also tried other colors too. I thought maybe the generic side of the yellow flowers paper would look good but it would have gotten lost with all the background foliage and being mostly covered by the flowers.

The large yellow flowers, I presume they are daisies or something similar, are hand-cut (fussy-cut) right out of the paper using my Paper Snips. When I do this, I try to choose something near the edges of the paper because, of course, we hate to waste any bit of our beautiful designer papers! Don’t try and cut out one flower out of the entire sheet of paper. Cut roughly around what image you want to cut out, and then more precisely cut out from the small piece of paper with only that image. Move the paper instead of your scissors, as they say! If you hate cutting images out of paper, you can get the Impressions Abloom Bundle or just the Impressions Abloom Dies, also in the Online Exclusives. Or get the entire Floral Impressions Suite Collection. Then you’ll have everything!

After adhering the foliage designer paper to the card base and the Garden Green diecut to the left side of the card, I played around with placing the flowers I had cut out, some little flowers also, and a few leaves. Finally I decided on this placement, took a photo with my phone so I would remember the layout, and then glued everything to the card. Two of the yellow daisies are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, the rest are glued down flat on the card.

The greeting is in the More Messages Stamp Set. Honestly, I took the lazy way out on this one! I decided on the “thanks a lot” greeting, but I didn’t want to mount the entire stamp on the largest block just to get that one phrase. So instead, I inked up the words I wanted with the full ink pad, laid the strip of Basic White cardstock over the inked words and hoped I was getting it fairly straight. I tried holding it in place while also rubbing it to get the ink transferred. I got lucky because it worked on the first try and I only had to trim the ends by hand. Using a Stampin’ Write Marker for those words would have worked also, but I just grabbed the ink pad. A Stampin’ Ink Spot would be perfect, too. But I went for the quickest way and then just wiped off the stamp, still in the case, with my purple Simply Shammy. I got ink on my fingers but it worked out!

Here is another card I made with the Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper. As you can see, I don’t mind cutting out flowers from the designer paper! At least as long as I have my trusty Paper Snips!

Beautiful Bokeh Just Because Paper Scraps Card

Beautiful Bokeh Just Because Paper Scraps Card

I was busy making some other cards with this paper and ended up with some scraps. They all looked so pretty together in a little pile that I decided to make something with them, and that’s how this Beautiful Bokeh Just Because Paper Scraps Card was designed! It’s an easy card to make, of course. When you make a card like this take some time to just play around with the pieces until you feel like you have everything in place how you like it. You can even take a picture with your phone so you can look back at how you laid everything out if you need to move things around to glue them down.

This card begins with just a Basic White cardstock card base. For the layer, I used a piece of the Beautiful Bokeh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper cut at 5″ x 3 3/4″. Then I cut some of the scraps from all different colors of the Beautiful Bokeh paper into strips that are 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ and arranged them at slightly different angles. They are all glued down flat, but you could pop some up on Dimensionals if you wanted to.

The Bokeh Effect is soft, blurry circles in the background, often seen in photography. However, it was a “thing” we all were making a few years ago using an acetate stencil to give the impression of all these soft-colored circles on a background paper. However, now we can just buy the paper with the same effect! Here is another card I made using the Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper.

The greeting is stamped in Berry Burst ink on a strip of Basic White cardstock (another scrap). It is in the Blooming Phrases Stamp Set. I did pop up the strip with Stampin’ Dimensionals. And of course I added some colorful sequins for a little sparkle! Use whatever you have.

I don’t necessarily advocate saving every single piece of paper that is leftover from a project, but when you do have a little collection of scraps and feel inspired, see what beautiful project you can create with the scraps!

Beautiful Gallery Boats Father’s Day Card

Beautiful Gallery Boats Father's Day Card

Now that Mother’s Day is over, it seems I am already hearing about Father’s Day! Father’s Day this year is Sunday, June 15th. That’s only a month away. I didn’t intend to make a Father’s Day card, but as I looked through the Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, when I came across this scene with the boats on the water, I got the idea to make a Father’s Day card out of it. This Beautiful Gallery Boats Father’s Day Card would be perfect for the man in your life on Father’s Day or any other masculine occasion.

Because of the boat scene on the paper, I thought making a “slimline” card would make the best use of this pattern. I got out a regular envelope that you might use for paying bills or sending a note and measured that to make sure my card would fit. To make the card base, I cut a piece of the Secret Sea cardstock, one of the new In Colors, at 7″ x 6 1/4″. Folded in half, the card base is 3 1/2″ x 6 1/4″. The Cloud Cover cardstock (another new In Color) layer measures 3 1/4″ x 6″.

The designer paper is the Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. This paper will remind you of an old-world art gallery with landscape scenes, florals, still life art, and more. You. may be inclined to frame quite a few of the squares of the designer paper and use it for a decorative item in your home! For this card, the designer paper is cut at 6″ x 3″. Obviously, you can’t just cut the paper anywhere. You need to trim the top, bottom, and sides so that the part of the paper you want is the focal point of the card.

The greeting is stamped on a narrow strip of Cloud Cover cardstock in Secret Sea ink. This greeting is in the Memorable Blooms Stamp Set. I think it works well for a Father’s Day card. I added a narrow strip of Crumb Cake cardstock offset underneath the greeting although it doesn’t show up very much.

On the inside of the card, since the card base is such a dark color, I added a layer of Basic White for a stamped or written greeting. It measures 6″ x 3 1/4″. Since I had a little strip of the DSP leftover, I adhered that to the bottom of the white layer inside It was 1/4″ x 6″. It’s fun to add a little something inside the card.

I really encourage you to check out this Beautiful Gallery Designer Paper, even if at first you think it’s not your style. If nothing else, you could frame some of the papers and give them as gifts!

Please enjoy a few of the new videos from Stampin’ Up! about the great products in the new Stampin’ Up! 2025-2026 Annual Catalog!

I love watching these!

This video gives an overview of all the Suites in the new catalog. No need to put in each product number, just enter the one number for the whole suite. Or choose the products individually that you want right now (and come back later for the rest!).

Be sure to catch where some of the patterns in the Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper come from! I always love hearing any “behind the scenes” information! And learn about the new Kinsugi paper!

Often it’s the final embellishments you add to a card that really makes it pop! Just that extra little spot of color or sparkle is what your card or project really needs!

If any of these products really “spoke” to you, be sure to order them as soon as possible to avoid any delays with backorders. I used to work with a teacher who said, in her little bit of a Southern accent say that her mother told her, “If it speaks to you, you must buy it!” All-righty then! I’ve remembered that for years and it works for shopping! 🙂 It’s my shopping motto everywhere!

Floral Impressions Flowers Card

Floral Impressions Flowers Card

This Floral Impressions Flowers Card is somewhat inspired by a card on the cover of the front of the new Stampin’ Up!® 2025-2026 Annual Catalog, although I thought I saw one like it on the inside of the catalog as well. The floral card on the front of the catalog is made with products in the Annual Catalog whereas my card is made with paper in the May Online Exclusives!

My card is made with flowers I cut out, by hand, from the Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper. This paper and other products come in the Floral Impressions Suite Collection in the Online Exclusives, as I said. I ordered a couple of other products in the Suite but not everything. I got the Foiled Frames & Labels Ephemera Pack and of course, the Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink Gems.

I get the Floral Impressions Paper in the Online Exclusives mixed up with the Florals In Bloom Designer Series Paper in the Annual Catalog on page 117. They look very similar to me and when I got my second pre-order, I thought I had ordered a duplicate of the first paper I got! I’ll get it straight eventually, but right now I have to look at each one to get it right!

My card uses Basic White cardstock for the card base with a layer of Strawberry Slush cardstock. As I paged through the papers, I was struck by the “other side” of the floral paper with this Darling Duckling yellow grid pattern, so I had to use that. I cut a strip 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ with the yellow side up across the card. I only put glue across the middle in case I wanted to stick any flowers underneath the strip.

The flowers are all cut out with Paper Snips scissors from the designer series paper. Some of you may hate to do that, but I find it rather relaxing. These were a little more challenging that I usually like to do but I like the look. In fact, I cut out some extras so I am saving those for another card. I just played around with them until I liked the placement then either glued them down flat or popped a few up with Stampin Dimensionals.

The tricky part was where to put the greeting since I didn’t really leave space. I used the Blooming Phrases Stamp Set in the May Online Exclusives. The cute part of this stamp set is the long tail from the cursive writing of each word, but due to space, I had to cut mine shorter. In the end, I popped it up over a few of the flowers. As you might expect, to embellish the card even more, I used the 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls in Darling Duckling on the background and two Strawberry Slush pearls on the greeting. These are nice because they don’t stick up very much for mailing.

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day so I think, just in case, you should treat yourself today to a Stampin’ Up! order just in case “some people” do not show you enough appreciationg! LOL! It happens!

Beautiful Gallery White Bouquet Card

Beautiful Gallery White Bouquet Card

This Beautiful Gallery White Bouquet Card is made with one of the new and very interesting designer series papers in the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. You can’t even imagine all of the different designs on those papers in the Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. A lot, maybe most of these papers would be beautiful framed for home decor (hence the name, “Beautiful Gallery”!) so you can use these for framing, cut the papers down for cards and projects, or even use them for scrapbooking. These papers feature exclusive designs by in-house Stampin’ Up! artists. That makes them even more special.

To make this card, I did have to cut down a 6″ x 6″ beautiful paper! However, I am very happy with the card so it’s fine! Why do we hate to use our designer papers so much! I remember someone years ago saying she bought three packs of every designer paper….one to use, one in case she needed more, and one to keep!

The card base is Mossy Meadow, and I added a layer of Basic Beige. I have barely used that Basic Beige color but it goes well on this card as the flowers are not a pure or solid white. I think having the extra layer of Basic Beige makes the flowers stand out more. For the greeting I used one in the Memorable Blooms Stamp Set and stamped it with Mossy Meadow Ink on a scrap of Basic Beige. It is diecut with one of the Textured Notes Dies. I really like these dies! You will find them in the Online Exclusives.

For some embellishment, I made a little “nest” of Gold Twisted Thread and adhered it to the back of the greeting. The gold thread is one of the Last Chance products but isn’t discounted. Then the greeting is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also added a few Iridescent Foil Gems, which have been one of my favorite gems to use since they came out!

Here is the link to page through the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog if you haven’t seen it yet.
