Beautiful Bouquet May Day Card

Happy May Day! It’s May 1st and here is a Beautiful Bouquet May Day Card to celebrate! Back in the “olden days” May Day was celebrated by gathering a bouquet of flowers and making a little basket with which to hang them on a neighbor’s or friend’s door. There used to also be a Maypole, a tall wooden pole decorated with flowers with long ribbons attached at the top that people would hold onto and dance around the maypole. Sounds like a lovely tradition somehow!

In honor of May Day, I made this card with the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set and the Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies. It was very easy. I just stamped several flowers of each kind in different colors and then die cut them with Beautiful Bunch dies. Some are adhered flat on the card front and some are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flower stems are one die cut out of Granny Apple Green Cardstock. I added a bow made with the Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon. I didn’t add a greeting yet because I could use this card for many occasions and will add a greeting later.

The card base is Daffodil Delight Cardstock. The flowers are stamped in Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, and Gorgeous Grape. I just chose four colors from the Brights Family for the flowers. Quick and easy!

Paper Pumpkin February 2019 Grown With Kindness Cards

Many people got quite excited about the February 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit because, for one thing, Stampin’ Up! gave us some hints and a preview, and for another, succulents seem to be a trendy thing nowadays. These are the Paper Pumpkin Grown With Kindness Cards that I made pretty much like the directions with the kit. I even stamped the envelope with an extra stamp in the set of a cup holding a succulent.

The Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin design team actually went out and purchased succulents, then brought them back to the office and photographed them. This is how the photographic images on the front of the cards came about. I think it makes the cards even more interesting to know how they were created! But I always like “behind the scenes” stories!

The kit made nine cards and they were easy to assemble. I left a couple of cards without sentiments so I could add my own when I need them. Since I was on a roll, I just made all the cards as designed. Sometimes I save a few for alternative ideas I might find other people posting on the internet. But I liked these cards just fine, especially those photographic images, so I just made them as is. The choice is completely up to you when you are making your kit!

Behind the Scenes of the February Paper Pumpkin Papercrafting Kit

See a little hint in the banner above about the upcoming February Paper Pumpkin Kit? Usually Stampin’ Up! keeps the kit a complete surprise, but this time they have been giving us lots of behind-the-scenes glimpses of how the artists plan a kit. I think it has been fun and I’m excited to get my kit as soon as it comes out (and the post office feels like delivering it!).

Here are a few more photos of how the Stampin’ Up! artists worked on their concept for the kit!

If you are thinking maybe they are sending us all succulents…..probably not!! Although my daughter sent me one last year for my birthday or Mother’s Day, so I am already trendy! Succulents are trendy so be sure you are “hip” and subscribe to Paper Pumpkin today!

So what are they doing with all this dirt and succulents?? Taking photographs from all angles to get the best look from each succulent!

Then they will take the photographs and use them to design papers to use in the kit!

If you want to know if the Paper Pumpkin kit is cards or some other project, just ask me! Usually, we don’t know and I don’t want to spoil the surprise for anyone. Funny how some people don’t like surprises and really want to know each month what the kit is going to be and other people love the surprise of opening the box and seeing what is inside! Either way, even if you know, I think it is still a fun surprise to receive the Paper Pumpkin red box in your mailbox and then open it and actually see the contents! Everything is included, even adhesives, plus an exclusive stamp set and ink spot. If you don’t like the project, use the materials to make something else. There are always alternative ideas posted online after people have a chance to work on their kit.

Precious Parcel Sale-A-Bration 2019 Card Kit

Sale-A-Bration is the biggest promotion Stampin’ Up! has during the year and the one that everyone gets the most excited about, because who doesn’t like free stuff like this Precious Parcel Card Kit?! With every $50 you spend on any Stampin’ Up! products, you may choose a FREE Sale-A-Bration item! This promotion goes on through the end of March and a few new SAB items to choose from will be available February 15th.

One of the choices this year in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure is this Precious Parcel Card Kit. It makes eight beautiful cards, four each of two designs. And they are unusual cards with the special card that is inserted in the slot on the front of the card where you can write or stamp a note or greeting plus the card actually opens with plenty of room for a personal greeting.

Everything is included in the kit and adhesive strips are already applied to the inside of the card. I have to say this is probably the easiest card kit I have ever put together and it looks so nice when finished! The only hard part is remembering to tie on the little twine bow through the front holes of the card before adhering the folded portion of the card! But even then I was able to reach inside and insert the twine through those poked holes! And if not, I could have just tied the bow and glued it to the front! The little gold foil accents to look like metal pieces for the corners of the card as so cute. And I love the little clip and stamp that is attached to the inserted card in the “mailbox”. The whole thing is very cute and I loved making these cards!

This Precious Parcel Card Kit has been very popular so if you are planning to order and really want this kit, you might consider getting it soon so that it doesn’t go on backorder just when you want it. This and the Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets are both in danger of backorder. Might not happen, but both of these items are really great!

This video gives you an inside look at this creative process through the eyes of the designer and concept artist themselves; plus, it gives you a taste of the themes, colors, and elements you can expect to see when kits arrive in February. The video won’t spoil any surprise, really.

Each kit contains all the supplies you need for the project right there in the box! With your first kit, if you are a new subscriber, you will receive a special acrylic block on which to mount the stamps, so you will have everything you need even if you are not a big stamper or crafter. I haven’t seen the kit, of course, but if you don’t need treats, I bet you will think of other ideas to do with the materials. And if you don’t think of them, soon after kits arrive in subscribers’ homes, alternate ideas for using the kit will appear on the internet to give you more ideas! Sometimes I make half my kit as designed and half using alternate ideas!

This particular kit coordinates with the Animal Expedition Suite in the Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog on pages 26-27. This doesn’t mean you have to own the suite to use the kit……it just gives you more opportunities for creativity with Stampin’ Up! products.
