Paper Pumpkin Frights & Delights Extra Cards

After I made all the treat bags in my Paper Pumpkin Kit, I had just a few pieces left in the kit so I made these Paper Pumpkin Frights & Delights extra cards! It came with these really cute bats, pumpkins, and ghosts for the treat bag toppers and there was one of each left over plus some sticky words!

I made all the bag toppers when I got my kit but I wasn’t ready to fill them with candy yet, so I didn’t have them ready to be photographed! The little cello bags are so cute, printed with little Halloween images on them.

I saw the idea for the stamped background on these cards online somewhere (there are always alternative ideas for using your Paper Pumpkin Kit online if you don’t want to make the project exactly as designed). These stamps were in the exclusive stamp set that came in the Frights & Delights Kit for September. Sometimes I forget to use these stamp sets that come in Paper Pumpkin except for when I am making the project in the box, but it’s really a great way to pick up some extra stamps! (Since we all need to constantly add to our collection!!)

The Whisper White card layer has the random stamping and then I added a layered banner, just cut by hand. I stamped the greeting at the bottom of the banner and adhered the pumpkin, bat, and ghost with Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them up a bit. The two “Spooky” words came in the kit and were self-adhesive which was great! The “Boo” on the bat card is actually silver foil so it doesn’t photograph well.

WIth some of my own cardstock and a few leftover pieces from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit, I was able to make a few extra Halloween cards that turned out pretty cute! The stamp set that came in the kit was great to use!

Paper Pumpkin October 2018 Handmade Cards

I got started pretty soon on my October 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit after it arrived and made all the cards. I made some exactly as designed but changed some of them up a bit. You can do whatever you like with your Paper Pumpkin Kit each month!

I have to admit when I saw the package of the contents I wasn’t too thrilled. But once I started making the cards I really liked the kit! I especially loved the finishing touch of the sequins (although I forgot to put them on the white cards until after the photo)! I think that even though the pieces are feathers, to me they reminded me more of colored leaves!

In the above photo you can see all the pieces that come in the kit! I stamped a few of the pieces with the greetings and left some plain until I could see how I wanted to use everything. Each month there are plenty of alternative ideas online if you want to make something different with your kit and need some inspiration.

Even after making eight cards, I still had all these pieces left over in the kit! I already have some ideas of what I want to make with them. What I have in mind could serve as Thanksgiving cards with the right greeting…..or no greeting and just a note!

I’ve discovered that our new Take Your Pick Tool is great for using the tiny glue dots that come in the kit. They aren’t as easy to use as our usual Mini Glue Dots on the roll. In the past I have used my Paper-Piercing Tool to pick them up off the sheet, but I think I like the Take Your Pick Tool better! The Take Your Pick Tool has lots of uses, has two ends, and extra pieces to change out.

Making the September 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit Frights & Delights

This weekend I had fun making my September 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Frights & Delights! It all started with the spooky black box in my mailbox this month!

And when I opened it up, there was the exclusive stamp set and ink spot!

Inside the black tissue paper were all the pieces I would need for this project!

All I had to do was punch out the pieces and look at the directions.

Then the fun began of putting the pieces together! The kit makes 24 Halloween treat bags. You get the cute printed cello bags, a little piece of heavy paper to put in the bottom to make it flat, and all the pieces to make the cute toppers for the treat bags! I stamped the tags and adhered the adhesive-backed spooky words!

Next I tied the sparkly twine around the tag.

There are cute cutouts to adhere to the tags, the pumpkins and ghosts with a silver backing to show through. I used the new Take Your Pick Tool to help with the little glue dots that came in the kit.

It’s best to fold the tags on the score line so you can adhere the bats, ghosts, and pumpkins to the top of the tags. And that’s it for the tags!

All that is left to do is buy some treats later and fill the bags, then attach the cute bag toppers!! I think the trick-or-treaters or whoever I end up giving these treat bags to will love them!

As I write this, the full Frights & Delights Kit is still available in the Online Store as well as the Refill Kit if you already have the full kit or if you have your own Halloween stamp set you want to use. Cardmaking With the Paper Pumpkin August 2018 Kit

Wouldn’t you love to receive this cute red box in the mail once a month? This is the August 2018 Kit from Paper Pumpkin, the papercrafting kit that comes in the mail from Stampin’ Up! Each month is a different project and almost always a surprise. The majority of kits are for making cards, but sometimes a different kind of project is in store, like party favors or a piece of home decor.

Open the box and it’s like a gift just for you! Each kit comes with an exclusive stamp set, an ink spot, and all the materials you need for the project, even little glue dots and dimensionals if you need them. Your first kit comes with an acrylic block on which to mount the stamps.

Unwrap the tissue paper and find the package containing your new project!

It’s fun to open up the box and take out all the materials and see how many things you get in a kit. Sometimes there are extras leftover for more projects on your own. There are directions and even a video you can watch.

Make the project exactly as designed or if you don’t care for it, make something else! Within a few days of people receiving their kits, there are alternative ideas online you can find if you need suggestions. I very often make part of the kit as designed and then make a few things differently. That’s what I did with this kit. But if you are someone with no other craft supplies, just make the kit as designed and you will have everything you need!

All kits are easy enough for non-crafters, never-crafters, friends, grandchildren, college students, sons, daughters, little ones, big ones, professional crafters who like a break from designing and gathering materials. Just open the box and skip to the fun, as Paper Pumpkin says!

Halloween Favor Clear Tiny Treat Box

This Halloween Favor Clear Tiny Treat Box is so fun and easy to make if you need a little party favor or treat! It’s a good idea to always keep a package of these Clear Tiny Treat Boxes on hand for little gifts or treats. You never know when one might come in handy at the last minute! They are so easy and fun to decorate for whatever occasion, not just Halloween, of course!

These little clear plastic boxes come flat so you just assemble them by opening up and creasing the score lines to form the box. Be sure to take off the extra plastic that protects them. Then decorate away, inside or outside!

For this box, I just cut a strip of the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper, coming in the Holiday Catalog in September. I wrapped it around the box, barely creasing it on the corners, just to see how it would fit. You can start with the 12″ strip, however wide you would like it, and then see how much excess length you can cut off. Decide if you want that overlapping in the back of the box or in the front, hidden by whatever you decorate the front with. Then you can take it off and crease the folds with a Bone Folder to get a good, crisp crease.

For the front of my little Halloween favor box, I stamped the little bird ghost from the Trick or Tweet Stamp Set in the Holiday Catalog and colored it in with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. There are new colors coming in the Holiday Catalog, too! Love these!!! Then I punched him out and layered him on various circle punches and the small 1 1/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I could have done even more, maybe tied ribbon around the box or added a greeting, but I just stopped here and put some candy inside!

Another idea to consider for Halloween treats is to join Paper Pumpkin before September 10th to receive the September papercrafting kit that is definitely going to be Halloween but not too spooky! I cannot wait!
