Here’s My Stamp Lamp!

Many, many years ago I went to a Stampin’ Up! convention in Salt Lake City and we got to take a side trip to Riverton, UT to see the Stampin’ Up! home office. It was great to tour the home office and see the shipping area. In the first part of the tour, there were different displays, the history of Stampin’ Up!, decorative things, I don’t remember what all. But one idea I saw was this lamp with a clear base filled with stamps! Back then we probably only had the wood-mount stamps. Just like many creative ideas I see, I HAD to have a lamp like that filled with stamps.

Eventually I found this lamp, probably on Amazon, maybe it was even before Amazon! Anyway, I bought the lamp and then, like many things, for all these years, any minute now I was going to put the stamps in it. FINALLY FINALLY the other day as I was sorting through my very old wood-mount stamps, I selected some stamps that I thought would look good inside this lamp. I thought I would just toss them inside the lamp. But it was the bottom of the lamp that was removable AND there is a rod through the middle holding the cord going to the light bulb. So there wasn’t a big open space inside the lamp base and I had to reconsider which stamps would really fit inside. It was NOT an easy job trying to fit the wood blocks inside in a curved container, keeping the center rod straight, and trying to keep the wood blocks where I was putting them! But I did get the lamp filled and arranged pretty well! I only have one boo-boo. Do you see where it is? I had to save the rest of the stamps in their cases and remember that those are the sets where the missing stamps are in the lamp.

So after all these years, here are photos of my stamp lamp with these stamps artfully (?) arranged inside as best I could! I do like it and it’s perfect in the room with all my craft stuff and retired stamp sets, paper, etc.

And yes, you can buy a lamp like this one on Amazon! Just search for something like “clear glass base table lamp fillable”. I’ve seen people fill lamps like this with seashells, so you can certainly fill one with stamps!! Maybe I should buy another one and fill it with markers for a very colorful lamp!! Or all my leftover ribbon or embellishments! So many possibilities! LOL!

Nutcracker Tags Made From the Kit

I knew I wanted this Nutcracker Tags Kit the minute I saw it in the Stampin’ Up! Online Store! I could tell the tags would be so cute for Christmas gifts and maybe even to make into a card. Each nutcracker image is printed and diecut in bright festive colors. To embellish them, just adhere pieces of their costume with Dimensionals to the tag. Tie them onto a background striped tag and all you have to do is write your “To: From:” on the back when you add them to a gift. No stamping is required. Just add the pieces, the sentiments, and tie the tags together with the black baker’s twine. The tags and sentiments even have gold glitter to make it look extra festive and high-quality.

The Stampin’ Up! Kits Collection is great for anyone to make! I had the opportunity to stamp with my great-niece and worked along with her as we made cards from three different kits and she could easily do it. In fact, after a little while she didn’t even want to follow the directions, she just wanted to make her own creation with the contents in the kit! And that’s fine! The Kit is yours! So many choices! But here is a Kit I would buy right now! It’s the Haunted Home Kit! I made my kit this past weekend and I was SO happy with how cute it is! My daughter was here and she liked it and even my husband commented that he liked it!! So you know it’s GOOD! It’s not teeny tiny either! Also, I used the cardboard that backed the package of supplies, covered it with some greenish designer series paper to look like grass and used that as a base for my Haunted Home! I can set the fence on that as well, but the tree has to go separately. I did use hot glue to assemble the house as the kit suggests. I also used it on the base of the house to adhere to the grassy base I just mentioned, but now I’m thinking maybe I should have left it unattached so I could put a flameless candle inside to like it up from the inside which would show through the yellow vellum windows.

It’s not difficult to make, except maybe for the roof! The roof is in two parts – the main roof and the little roof on top of the top window. I just watched the video a couple of times until I got it!

Here is the back side. Even on the back side it is cute with all the windows and shutters!

Although I can’t believe Saturday will be October, it’s time for this fun event with Stampin’ Up! You can still order the Handmade & Heartfelt Kit. The month of August has really flown by, if you ask me! This is your reminder that the Stampin’ Up! 2025-2027 In Color Product Sale is going on! It seems like yesterday that we had a WHOLE MONTH for this sale, but the sale ends Sunday August 31!

You might think this sale is only about the In Color cardstock and ink pads BUT it is also about other random products that have In Colors in them! You just have to check the Stampin’ Up! Online Store on the sale page and see what is included!

If you don’t have already have some In Color cardstock, I would get the 8 1/2″ x 11″ assorted package of all the colors. That way you can try them out and then order more of the ones you like. Or more assorted packages! Lots of Two-Tone cardstock assortments are on the sale as well.
