Hues of Happiness Trio of Flowers

Hues of Happiness Trio of Flowers

Is this Hues of Happiness Trio of Flowers card bright enough with all the colors??! I was actually making some other cards using the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper with all the flowers, and when I turned one piece over to apply glue I saw this dark blue pattern with the tiny flowers! I loved it and wanted to make something with that pattern.

I just started assembling the card itself without knowing what I was going to put on it! I decided on a Daffodil Delight card base, then a piece of the designer paper, plus Sweet Sorbet for the bottom portion. To cover the seam where the two pieces overlap I used a strip of Granny Apple Green. By then it was looking pretty bright!

I thought I would add some of my extra diecut flowers from the designer paper, but the ones I had cut out looked a little pale against the colors I had already used for the card. What to do? Cut out more flowers in deeper colors! I played around with those and thought the card design called for a more whimsical look. I happened to put these three single smaller flowers across the top and I liked that look! They are just glued down flat but they could have been popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. It would also be fun to use the Wink of Stella brush on them to give them a little sparkle.

The greeting is in the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set. I only used part of it, covering up the rest with a piece of washi tape (and remembered to remove it before stamping!!). Then I diecut it with a banner die in the Stylish Shapes Dies. I also wrapped the new In Color 2022-2024 Baker’s Twine in Sweet Sorbet around the middle of the card layer three times and added a separate bow tied with two pieces of the twine.

This is really an easy, basic card design but I think the bright colors make it stand out. A strip of Parakeet Party cardstock across the seam would have been even brighter but I thought I liked the look of the Granny Apple Green color better. You could use this same background paper with some other fun image on the top or middle portion of the card for a different look. Just play with your paper and stamps and you will always come up with something as I did with this Hues of Happiness Trio of Flowers card.

Sweet Sorbet Cup of Tea Card

Sweet Sorbet Cup of Tea Card

After waiting ALL day Saturday for UPS to deliver my Stampin’ Up! preorder, it finally arrived after 9:00 PM but at least it got here! I present to you my first card out of all the things! I couldn’t wait to see and use the new In Colors so I chose this stamp set and designer paper to make my Sweet Sorbet Cup of Tea Card. There are dies in the Tea Boutique Suite but for this first card, I kept it rather simple.

The card base is the very pretty color I love already, Sweet Sorbet. I also really wanted to use the new Tea Boutique 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, so I simply picked the pretty teacup print on the top of the package! I decided to simply cut a strip about 2″ wide by 5 1/4″ to put on the left side of the card.

The striped teacup is stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink on a scalloped rectangle in Basic White in the Scalloped Contours Dies. After the cup was stamped, I stamped the leafy stems with the new Parakeet Party ink. I dared to stamp the row of little flowers without much thought in Petal Pink ink but didn’t get it lined up right. If I didn’t mention it, you probably wouldn’t notice it or think that it was “wrong”. There are several greetings in the Cup of Tea Stamp Set, some larger and some really small to fit on the little tag stamp and die! I just stamped the greeting next to the cup. Now that I see the sizes of things, I would probably stamp the cup a little lower on the diecut. The diecut piece is layered on the new Starry Sky dark blue In Color. The whole piece is then popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

On the inside of the card, I added a layer of Basic White with a 1″ strip of the “other side” of this same designer paper on the left side of the white layer. That way it is easier to write a message or stamp on the inside of the card.

This Tea Boutique Suite is going to offer lots of great cardmaking opportunities! There is even a matching set of Tea Boutique Cards and Envelopes to which you can add stamping, paper, and/or die cuts.

Who doesn’t enjoy a cup of tea now and then so they will certainly enjoy a Cup of Tea card!

New Catalog Goes Live May 3rd!

Here Are the New Stampin’ Up! In Colors 2022-2024!

SU New In Colors 2022-2024 Collage

Introducing the new Stampin’ Up! In Colors 2022-2024! Thanks to another Demonstrator for creating this graphic to show off all the new colors and even a bit of Stampin’ Up! artwork to show how they all work together! These new In Colors will be available in the next Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog beginning May 3, 2022.

Stampin’ Up! provided a little quiz each day in our Demonstrator Facebook Group to give us clues as to each new In Color. Then at the end of the day, they would reveal the name and show the color. I was amazed at how easily some of the Demos guessed the names!

It will be fun to see how these colors compare to past colors we have had or even our current ones. I will be eager to see the colors in person and see if I like them. Of course, you almost have to work with them a while to see what you think! There will be new Stampin’ Blends for each color (of course ink pads and reinkers) plus, of course, things like embellishments, ribbon, and designer paper. Fun!

Here is an example of the kind of clues they provided: “I’m a delicious treat on the tip of your tongue. Creamy yet dairy-free is the life for me. Strawberries, watermelon, raspberries, oh my! Just blend a little fruit juice, water, and sugar for a frozen surprise. What’s my name?”

Remember the Last-Chance Sale began yesterday afternoon with retiring products! Not everything is discounted of course but I hope you find some bargains you would like! The Last Chance product list is impossible to read unless you zoom in online or print it and wear your very best reading glasses. But it really is best to just look online in the Store and see what is still available, what is “Low Inventory”, etc. That will be up-to-date. Remember, the Spring Mini Catalog is not retiring yet. That January-June catalog will be live through June 30. Some products will carry over into the new catalog, which you will see when you get the catalog! As much as I love new things, I’m always happy to see products I already have carry over to the new catalog!
