Heartfelt Hexagon St. Patrick’s Day Card

Heartfelt Hexagon St. Patrick's Day Card

If you want to make a St. Patrick’s Day card for someone, this Heartfelt Hexagon St. Patrick’s Day Card shows you how to make one with what you have! I wanted to make a St. Patrick’s Day card but wasn’t quite sure what to use. I knew hearts made good shamrocks. One of the first stamp sets I came across was the Heartfelt Hexagon, and it had a little heart stamp in it! At that point, I decided to make my own designer series paper for the card!

The card base is Granny Apple Green cardstock. The “designer paper” layer is Basic White stamped randomly all over with hearts and pretty foliage! First I used the little hearts to stamp with Granny Apple Green ink all over the card, going in different directions. I left some spaces because I knew the greeting would cover up some space anyway. When you are doing random stamping like this, be sure you stamp off the edges and maybe the corners. You don’t usually need every image to be fully on the card. To make the shamrock after stamping the hearts, I just drew in a little stem with the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend Marker.

Then I took a chance and stamped the foliage sprig in the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set as best I could fit it in between all the hearts. I think it’s because the foliage stamp is so delicate it fits in fine and adds more green for St. Patrick’s Day!

The greeting is stamped from the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set. I stamped the border first on both Basic White and Granny Apple Green, and then the greeting in the center of the Basic White. I punched out both with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. If you don’t have this punch, just use whatever punch or die works for you. Or just cut out your own square or rectangle. I cut the Granny Apple Green hexagon piece in half horizontally to place under the top and bottom of the greeting piece to look like a layer to set it off a little from the rest of the card. After that was all layered, I popped up the greeting with Dimensionals.

After gluing everything down, I got the idea to use the Gold & Vanilla 3/8″ Satin Edged Ribbon underneath the greeting. Luckily the greeting was already popped up so I could slide a piece of ribbon underneath and flagged the ends. I was able to stick a Dimensional under each side to hold the ribbon down.

Since gold goes with St. Patrick’s Day, besides the ribbon, I also added some Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins in gold around the card.

Here’s another way to make a St. Patrick’s Day card with hearts from a little while back!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day March 17th!

St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Card With Hearts

St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Card With Hearts

If you are looking for a card for St. Patrick’s Day, which is tomorrow, this St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Card With Hearts card may give you an idea. It certainly wasn’t my first idea, but after several failures of what I thought was going to be an easy idea, I came up with this and I like it a lot! In fact, I believe you could give it to anybody for any occasion where you wanted to wish them some luck!

The card base is Garden Green cardstock, and the front is stamped with the Hand-Drawn Dots background stamp. It’s the first time I’ve used it! It’s in the Spring Mini Catalog on page 28. I must have seen some cute idea that I had to have it for, but who knows now what that was! Anyway, it’s a good background stamp to have just for a little interest and pizzazz! You can make it as bold or as subtle as you like by using different colors or even stamping off for a very light image. I need to play with it more!

I cut the center layers smaller so the dotted background would still show a little bit. The designer paper I used is in the Hues of Happiness package in the Annual Catalog and is on the opposite side of one of the floral patterns. I cut it so that mostly the green area would show. This designer paper is cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″. Then I used a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock for a layer under that to help it stand out. It is cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″.

The shamrock for St. Patrick’s Day is made of three hearts. I originally planned to just punch out three hearts out of Garden Green cardstock, but these look a lot more interesting. I used the Country Bouquet Stamp Set and Garden Green ink on Garden Green cardstock. I punched out the hearts with the Country Bouquet Punch. (This punch is due back in stock around April 17th.) The stem I just cut myself. The hearts are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

For a little gold, I embossed the greeting with Gold Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool. The greeting is in the Country Bouquet Stamp Set and as I said, with a simple greeting like this, I think you can use this card on a day other than St. Patrick’s Day. If you want a stamp set that is “officially” for St. Pat’s, the Lucky Clover Stamp Set is perfect for you!

And for just a little more gold, I used my new package of the Gold Faceted Adhesive-Backed Sequins. You get little moon shapes, some large teardrop shapes, and two sizes of circle sequins. You’ll find these on page 43 in the Spring Mini Catalog.

Whether you are Irish or not, have fun making a little something for St. Patrick’s Day with some heart shamrocks!

St. Patrick’s Day Glittery Shamrocks Card

St. Patrick's Day Glittery Shamrocks Card

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I had several other ideas for St. Patrick’s Day cards but ended up with this St. Patrick’s Day Glittery Shamrocks Card. I think it is so fun to make a shamrock with hearts! I knew I had several kinds of glimmery paper so I thought I would use that somehow!

This is just a simple card, just some die-cutting involved. If you don’t have any heart dies you can use a heart punch or just cut them out by hand. I used the Sweet Hearts Dies in the Spring Mini Catalog to die cut all the glittery hearts. I used the Rainbow Glimmer Paper. I had just enough greenish edge scraps to die cut all my hearts! This paper is so fun!

The card base is Granny Apple Green, which is one of the coordinating colors with the Rainbow Glimmer Paper. The layer is Basic White. Before I glued on the shamrocks, I randomly stamped the dots in the Color & Contour Stamp Set with Granny Apple Green ink. The stems of the shamrocks are just cut out by hand, tiny little strips of green.

I looked through a lot of stamp sets and decided on the word “Celebrate” in the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set. I didn’t want to stamp the whole thing so I just used the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Write Marker in the Brights family to color only the word I wanted and then stamped. I just stamped it on a Basic White scrap, trimmed it down and adhered it to another scrap of the greenish Rainbow Glimmer Paper.

For even more glitter and glimmer, I decided to add some kind of rhinestones or jewels. I decided to try the Evening Evergreen green jewels in the 2021-23 In Color Jewels. They don’t show up in the photo but in the right light, they are green rhinestones!

Don’t forget to wear green today and have fun celebrating St. Patrick’s Day!

St. Pat’s Day Shamrock Heart Punch Card

St. Pat's Day Shamrock Heart Punch Card

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, maybe you want to make card something like this St. Pat’s Day Shamrock Heart Punch Card. You’re probably not going out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day today so you might as well STAMP! I think this card could even be one to send someone any time because hearts are good at any time whether they are making up shamrocks or just a leafy plant!

I started with a card base of Old Olive and a layer of Whisper White. I didn’t even know exactly what I was going to make except that it had to be green for St. Pat’s. I settled on using the Heart Punch with the scalloped edge in the Heart Punch Pack. You get two punches in this pack, a plain edge heart and a scalloped edge heart. As a bonus, you can layer the hearts! You can use hearts any time, not just for Valentine’s Day or St. Patrick’s Day! You will find them in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

For something more interesting, I looked through my designer paper until I found a “solid” green I could use. I found this green in the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper. Don’t forget to look at the backsides of the pretty patterned papers! Often there is something very interesting on both sides of the designer paper! I punched three hearts out of this paper and just cut a little curved strip for the stem. Although the paper color is basically a solid green, you can see that there are color variations in it that make it interesting and appealing! I think this greenery can be any kind of leafy plant with heart-shaped leaves!

For pizzazz, I dug out some gold sequins and clustered them in the center of the plant rather than placing them around on the card. I liked that look. The greeting is stamped in Old Olive ink from the Heartfelt Stamp Set. This stamp set can also be used for more than Valentine’s Day so you might want to grab it during Sale-A-Bration.

You probably can’t go out to the “pubs” today to celebrate, but if you are staying home you can celebrate by stamping or creating a St. Patrick’s Day project like this St. Pat’s Day Shamrock Heart Punch Card!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
