Scalloped Christmas Cheer Christmas Card

Tis the Season Christmas Card

It’s time to be making Christmas cards if you want to avoid stress later in December! Now is the time to ENJOY our hobby of cardmaking and papercrafting without trying to beat the mailman coming down the street! This Scalloped Christmas Cheer Christmas Card is actually pretty basic and easy when you look at it.

The card base is Real Red with a green plaid layer from the designer series paper, A Stitched Season. Even if you don’t care for the quilt-look of one side of the papers, the “other side” has good generic patterns that you can use on a card like this. To add a little red, I added a strip of this red print paper cut at 1″ x 5 1/4″.

For the focal point of the card, I diecut a piece of Basic White cardstock with the Scalloped Christmas Cheer Dies. I love this set of dies and hope Stampin’ Up! keeps them around for a while despite the word Christmas in the name. We had similar dies a few years ago, but with small scallops. These seem more fun! The greeting is stamped in Real Red ink using the sentiment in the Scalloped Christmas Cheer Stamp Set. You can purchase the stamp set and dies together in a Bundle and save 10%. The holly leaves are stamped in the corner with Peaceful Pine ink and the berries in Real Red ink. I love the large font for the greeting! On the inside of the card, I added a Basic White layer so I could stamp the “making spirits bright” greeting in the same stamp set.

For a little bling, I couldn’t resist adding three sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Sequins. These should be back in stock the week of November 16. Fill out the email notification form on the page for the sequins so you know when you can order them. You will want these for your holiday cards!
