Top Note Thanksgiving Cello Bag Treat

If you haven’t had time yet to make some kind of Thanksgiving treat or table favor, here is something easy. Put your candy or treat into a cello bag and decorate with a topper made with the always popular Top Note Die and Big Shot. Just fold it in half and decorate! I stamped some leaves from the Fall Fest Photopolymer Bundle and cut out with the matching framelits, both of which come in a Bundle so you can save 15% if you buy the stamps and framelits together. The words are from a stamp in the For All Things Stamp Set, only the words I wanted colored in with an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker and punched out with the Extra-Large Oval Punch.

It’s so much fun to wake up on Tuesday mornings and check and see what Stampin’ Up! has put on the Weekly Deal!  These are the products available at a discount for Tuesday, October 7 through Monday, October 13. Great items again!  Punches and framelits are always good! Stock up on Silver Glimmer Paper, especially with the holidays coming up, but it’s good for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, anything pretty! The Natural 5/8″ Chevron Ribbon can be used on the Chevron side OR the plain side!  Two for the price of one! Pick up some of the This And That Epic Day Journals and decorate for Christmas gifts or any other gifts. And you just saw me use the Geometrical Wood Stamp Set the other day to make a Halloween card in this post. It’s a fun stamp set to have.

Geometrical Halloween Pumpkin Card

Look at the cute Halloween pumpkin card I made on World Cardmaking Day using the Oval Framelits and surprisingly, the Geometrical Stamp Set. I didn’t even know what card I was going to make until I went to my shelf of stamp sets, and for some reason, the Geometrical Stamp Set jumped out at me and I got the idea to use the images to make a pumpkin face!  Now you might have other stamps with pumpkin face features in the set, but I don’t have a current one.  This whole moment reminded me of a teacher I worked with years ago who told me her mother always said, “If it speaks to you, you must buy it!” Of course that became my mantra for shopping, but in today’s case the Geometrical Stamp Set “spoke” to me and I used it!  I cut out three ovals with the Oval Framelits and sponged the edges.  I think that makes a big difference. I didn’t get my triangles exactly centered, but then no pumpkin needs to be perfect!

I used my Fringe Scissors to cut some narrow strips of Old Olive card stock for the vines, curled them up, and just hand cut a little stem.

I thought the card required a moon, so I used the 2″ Circle Punch (could have even used a larger one!) to punch a piece of Crushed Curry, sponged the edges, and stamped a little bat from Freaky Friends.  The greeting is from the stamp set Good Greetings.  Right now you can get that stamp set free with a $300 order of your own or hosting a $300 workshop with friends through the end of October.

As I mentioned, today is World Cardmaking Day! So take a few minutes today and make a card! Or make two of the same cards, keep one and ACTUALLY MAIL the other card to someone!  Think how special you will make their day to get a surprise handmade card in the mailbox!  Or make three cards, keep one and send two cards to two people as a surprise!  You know you have someone who needs a card! I often say that when you make one card, go ahead and make a couple more of the same card while you have the idea and the supplies out!

On the Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals this week, the cute and versatile stamp set For The Birds is on sale! It’s a great stamp set because the images are adorable and the sentiments cover lots of occasions.  You can even just cover the sentiment if you want to just use the image.

This set is great for “coloring in” with markers or blender pens or now with the new Blendabilities, if you use Memento Black Ink. But if you do not like coloring, you can just stamp the image in one color and make a monochromatic card. It will look fine!
