Beautiful Stampin’ Up! Fabric Projects

At the Leadership Conference in San Antonio last month there were some beautiful Stampin' Up! fabric projects on display.  Stampin' Up! doesn't JUST do stamps, ink, and paper right!  They do fabric, too!

Fashionable Hearts Valentine Card

I noticed I had a few stacks of die cut hearts from the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit Die #125596 in the Occasions Mini just sitting on my table….

Fashionable Hearts Sizzlit

so of course I thought "I should make something with those!"

Fashionable Hearts Card

So here's a simple card you could make for Valentine's Day or really any occasion!  This is a 4 1/4"x 4 1/4" card and I just glued on some of the smallest and next size up hearts on to the card.  At the end I had to use a little bling by putting on some basic Rhinestones.  This would even be cute as a very small 3"x 3" gift card or note card. So here is one!

Fashionable Hearts 3x3 Gift Card

Isn't that fun??!  You could do the same with a heart punch….but what a versatile idea!

Check my Online Store and place your order so you, too, can make hearts!

Just some stamping and some punching with the Large Lace Ribbon Border Punch #122362 and a little blink with a small rhinestone jewel.

Cake Decorating with Stampin’ Up! Tools

IMG_0105

Not sure I can explain this yet without looking back at all my photos and notes, but one part of an afternoon stamping demonstration at Stampin' Up! Leadership showed us how to use our stamping tools in baking/cake decorating – type projects! It was so creative!  Here she is using her Aquapainter on stamped fondant or something to color in.  Somehow in there, vodka was involved!!  Talk about a WOW project!

Here are some more photos.  I can't figure out how to get all my photos onto my laptop yet, just this afternoon group appears right now.

Star Wars Punch Art Birthday Card

Star Wars Birthday Card

Here is a Star Wars punch art birthday card with Darth Vader and Yoda I made for my favorite son-in-law.  Yes, he's my favorite….well, he's my only son-in-law, but he's still my favorite!  :) Apparently I hit a home run with it because my daughter says he really liked it!  He's a big Star Wars and all-kinds-of-other-stuff fan so I thought this idea would be perfect.

Of course, it is not my original idea because I can't come up with creative things like this!  Fortunately, other demonstrators can and they share and it is okay to copy ideas!  I found this idea in our Stampin' Up! demonstrator website called "Stampin' Connection". (So if you want to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator but feel you are not creative, this is one of many resources provided by Stampin' Up!)  A demonstrator from Canada, Rose Marie Coleman, had made these Star Wars punch art figures and I was able to figure out what she did! I'll add her blog link at the end.

I have to tell you about my greeting on the front!  I didn't have much space left for one and I got the idea to have it be something Yoda would say. Would you believe there is a website that will translate anything you write into "Yoda-speak"?!  http://www.yodaspeak.co.uk/  Just type in what you want to say, and it will translate it for you!  Try several versions until you get something interesting!

Then I used several different stamps from On Your Birthday #111664, cut the words apart after I stamped them on scrap paper, and pasted them in order to make my own greeting!

My card is made with a Basic Black card base with a Brushed Silver card stock layer on the front (which doesn't photograph very well!). Here is the inside:

If you need to add to your collection of punches so you can make interesting characters like this at a moment's notice, just Shop Online at my Stampin' Up! website.

Here is a link to Rose's blog post about how she made these characters…because I already don't remember how I did it and someone is sure to ask!  http://www.stampingwithrose.com/2010/05/star-wars-card-instructions-and-winner.html

Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps from Stampin’ Up!

Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps!! Who would have thought that besides talking about stamps, paper and ink we would also be talking about baking at Stampin' Up!?

We were surprised at Convention last summer to hear that the cookie stamps would be coming out!  We even got to sample them at lunch one day when Stampin' Up! gave us a surprise dessert!  What fun!

Listen to Shelli's daughter, Sara, talk about the new Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps. I'm putting them on my order today and can't wait to try them! Yum!

"Take your love of stamping into the kitchen! Create fun and tasty stamped cookies for any occasion. Fit a silicone stamp over the bottom of the wooden handle and press into dough—it's that easy! Let the kids help! Food-safe, easy-to-clean and dishwasher safe. Each set includes 3 silicone stamps, 1 handle, and 2 great cookie recipes."

Stampin’ Up! Heat Tool: A Handy Dandy Tool to Own!

Heat tool

You probably are familiar with the Stampin' Up! Heat Tool #100005 for embossing or using Heat & Stick powder.  Sometimes it is used for quickly drying ink, particularly craft ink.  I've also told you how handy it is to unstick Sticky Strip on a project like in this old post HERE.

Well, today I used my Heat Tool to unstick self-adhesive postage stamps! Over a year ago when I was putting postage on wedding invitations and putting on too much, I pulled off the extra stamps and tried to save them (at $.44 each!). I stuck them on to the sort of waxy envelope from the post office that the stamps came in, hoping they wouldn't stick for good on there.  I've pulled off as many of the stamps as I easily could the past year, but now I'm down to the ones that seemed really stuck on.  So today I turned on my Heat Tool and blasted a stamp…..it came off easily and I was able to reuse it on my current mail!  Just to be on the safe side, I used a drop of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to make sure the stamp didn't come off the envelope.

So Stampin' Up! supplies aren't just for stamping anymore!

Need a high quality Heat Tool?  Here's the Stampin' Up! one!  And you might want to pick up some of our great embossing powders, too HERE.

Stampin’ Up! Cookie Stamps!

Stampin' Up! Cookie Stamps

Just in time for holiday baking, Stampin' Up! has introduced a new product called Cookie Stamps!  You get three cookie stamps with a wooden handle to decorate your cookies. This works best with a shortbread recipe so the stamped image will not become distorted while baking. Demonstrators were treated to these stamped cookies at our Stampin' Up! Convention this summer!

Check them out here or click on the image above.

And after you bake the cookies, use Stampin' Up! products for decorative packaging!  Make a cute tag with a pretty Stampin' Up! ribbon….or use our new Kraft Gift Boxes.  You can make great gifts any time of year!!

To order these brand new Cookie Stamps, just email me or go to my Online Store.  Be sure to check the Clearance Rack while you are there for some great bargains!

Simply Scored Paper Flowers

Paper flowers have been "in style" for awhile now, but now with the new Stampin' Up! Simply Scored scoring tool this accordion-folded style is so easy to make!  It's another one of those "bet you can't make just one" things!  Here are some of my most recent paper flowers, often called lollies!

Spice Cake Accordion Flower Antique Brad close up

Made with Spice Cake Designer Series Paper #124003 with an Antique Brad #117273 in the center.

This one is tied with Baker's Twine Early Espresso/White #123124.

Accordion Flower adhering dowel

This one I adhered a wooden skewer to the back of the flower.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue #110755 to attach the stick, then put Stampin' Dimensionals #104430 (two stacked together) on each side of the stick to attach the large circle punch to hide the stick.

It's fun making paper flowers…or should I say lollies?!

New Clear Block Cleaning Cloth

IMG_8420

I finally tried out my new Stampin' Up! Clear Block Cleaning Cloth as long as I was cleaning everything else in my new kitchen!

First of all, I have to say I love the color of the cloth!  Not that that has anything to do with anything, but I like it!  We should all have a jacket or something made out of that fabric!  :)

It is a microfiber cloth, 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" inches, designed to clean off fingerprints, ink and dust from the Clear Blocks. When you feel the cloth itself is dirty, just handwash and dry flat.

I don't even know what some of that dirt was on my clear blocks, but it is gone now, thanks to my new cleaning cloth!

Be sure to put one on your next order! It's a great addition to your stamping tools and accessories.

How to Mix Glitter

Flower Glitter Holder

Here's a tip I learned from a Stampin' Up! video:  Using one of the flowers from the Flower Folds Die #115970, bend up the petals to make a little cup.  I was mixing some Fine Supernova Glitter with the Champagne Glass Glitter, dipping and stirring with my Bone Folder #102300. When you are ready to dump your glitter on your project, you can lower one of the petals for a little spout!  I happened to have this flower already cut and laying out, but I would suggest using card stock rather than designer paper.  Just a unique way to use our Stampin' Up! products!
