Sunny Days Thanks Card

Sunny Days Thanks Card

It’s just four days, counting today, to get your FREE products from Stampin’ Up! during Sale-A-Bration 2024! With every $50 purchase, you can choose one of the special products in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure or the list of MORE products to Sale-A-Brate. This Sunny Days Thanks Card is made with one of those products, the Sunny Days 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

This paper is so pretty with its bright colored flowers in Poppy Parade, Petal Pink, and White. Other papers include clouds, rainbows, butterflies, suns, strawberries, and cherries plus some generic patterns that are great for backgrounds.

This easy card starts with a card base of Poppy Parade cardstock. For the layer on the card, I chose this floral pattern of the Sunny Days DSP because it is so “happy” as my friend would say! Before adhering the paper to the card, I wrapped around a piece of Pool Party 3/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. After that ribbon is adhered to the designer paper, you can adhere the paper to the card base.

The greeting is in the Sentimental Park Stamp Set. It is stamped in Pool Party ink on Basic White and then diecut with one of the Perennial Postage Dies. I was going to layer it on another larger Perennial Postage Die but I didn’t want to take up too much space over the pretty flowers. I just cut a rectangle layer in Pool Party myself to fit under the greeting. This was popped up over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For some embellishment, I tied a separate bow with the Pool Party ribbon and adhered it with Mini Glue Dots. I also added a glue dot underneath the ribbon under the bow to hold it all in place. On the greeting itself, I added a couple of Pool Party flowers in the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers. That’s a fun package of embellishments!

This is a very simple card design, but when you have paper you want to show off, a simple card is just the thing!

Remember, this is the last week, until Thursday, February 29th, to place an order of $50 or more at Stampin’ Up! and earn a free product!

Flight & Airy Just a Note Card in Fresh Freesia

Flight & Airy Just a Note Card in Fresh Freesia

I enjoyed making this Flight & Airy Just a Note Card in Fresh Freesia so much yesterday! It just came together very easily. If you already have this Sale-A-Bration paper, you know how beautiful it is. And if you don’t have it yet, you should get it!

If you haven’t heard of Sale-A-Bration, with every $50 order or more at Stampin’ Up!, you can choose a FREE product in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. Spend $100 and choose between two free products or one special product for the $100 level. We all love to get new stamping supplies and FREE makes it lots of fun!

This Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper is one of the Sale-A-Bration choices on page 6 of the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. It has watercolor images of birds and branches, birds and flowers, watercolor wash backgrounds, and floral patterns. The papers are all so pretty! I’m sure you will love them too! There is a long list of coordinating colors with these papers.

This card has a card base of Fresh Freesia. The designer paper layer I chose has smaller birds and branches so you might not want to be fussy cutting these birds from the paper, but you certainly can from some of the other patterns. I like the look of the numerous bluebirds and flowers on this paper.

For the focal point of the card, I used the Radiating Stitches Dies to cut out one Basic White rectangle and one larger Fresh Freesia rectangle. The bird on the flowery branch is cut out by hand from another sheet of the Flight & Airy Designer Paper. You might think that fussy cutting a design like this would be really difficult but it is not! Just cut around the edges, wiggling your scissors in and out. As you can see, since this whole image is very “dense” you’re not really going to cut way into it at all. Just cut around the edges of the flowers and leaves and then around the little bird. I glued everything flat to the card, but you could pop up the cutout bird and branch with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For an embellishment, I simply tied a bow out of two strands of Linen Thread and adhered it will a Mini Glue Dot.

The greeting is stamped with the Go To Greetings Stamp Set. You could use almost any greeting with this card, from a happy occasion like a birthday to a greeting expressing sympathy. It is stamped in Fresh Freesia ink.

If you don’t own the Radiating Stitches Dies, just choose another die that would work or cut out your rectangles with the Paper Trimmer. The edges of these two rectangles are very pretty, but plain rectangles would look nice as well. You could even add a few pearls or jewels of some kind to this card, but I think it is fine as is!

When you shop at Stampin’ Up! during Sale-A-Bration, think in terms of $50 increments so you can get a free Sale-A-Bration product. If you are just a little bit short, check the Clearance Rack for something that might put you over the top.

Softly Stippled Hello Card

Softly Stippled Hello Card

Make a nice card, like this Softly Stippled Hello Card with the free designer series paper you can earn at Stampin’ Up! during Sale-A-Bration. This card may have a few extra layers than you are used to making but it still is an easy card and the pretty paper does the work! Just add a greeting and a little embellishment.

Earn this paper during Sale-A-Bration at Stampin’ Up with a $50 purchase. When you spend $50 or more during Sale-A-Bration (ends February 29) you may choose a free product in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. If you spend $100 or more you may choose two free products at the $50 Level or one extra-special product at the $100 Level.

For this card, I chose Calypso Coral for the card base, one of the coordinating colors with this Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper. Then I chose two patterns of the paper that I wanted to use. The monochromatic floral layer on the card base makes a pretty background without competing with the center layers.

The center Calypso Coral layer is 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″. The floral layer on this piece is one with Calypso Coral and other colors of flowers and foliage. It is cut at 2 1/2″ x 4″. Before adhering it to the card front, I adhered some ribbon and a bow around it. The bow is tied separately and adhered with Mini Glue Dots. I used the Pecan Pie 3/8″ Center Stripe Ribbon which you will find in the Online Exclusives. (I had to search for it myself!) It is part of the Meandering Meadow Suite which was released a little while ago in the Online Exclusives category. The Suite is not available at the moment due to the Dragonflies & Birds embellishments not being available until February 5th. However, you can order everything else separately.

The greeting is stamped on Basic White in Calypso Coral ink, then die cut with a small square in the Stylish Shaped Dies in the Annual Catalog. The next size up in the squares was bigger than I wanted to I just cut a square myself out of the Calypso Coral paper to be the layer under the greeting. The greeting is in the Circle Sayings Stamp Set. I liked using the word “Warm” on such a cold day in Houston and probably where you are too! To the greeting, I added three Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots. They technically are not the correct color but it sure looks close to me so it’s fine. I love those dots!

You could pop up any of these layers or leave them flat as I did. Change the designer paper layers to your liking. Here is another card I made last year with the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper in the Annual Catalog. I just copied my own card with this designer paper! I think it is a nice card design and easy to make to showcase pretty designer series paper.

Trusty Toolbox Thank You Card

Trusty Toolbox Thank You Card

This Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper is going to be a fun one to use and great for masculine cards, like Father’s Day! This Trusty Toolbox Thank You Card was a good one to make. We all probably have times when we need a handyman, maybe just a friend or relative who can help us out at the last minute, or when we don’t know how to fix something. You can make an easy thank you card to give or send that person for helping you out!

You can earn this Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper FREE during Sale-A-Bration with just a $50 purchase! You’ll find it on page 11 of the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. Also, it coordinates with the Trusty Tools Bundle in the Spring Mini Catalog. So there will be lots of things to make with the Bundle and the Designer Paper.

When I see a workbench and tools, even represented on paper and a card, it makes me think about my dad, my grandpa, and my brother. I remember the workbench my grandpa had built for himself in his basement. I loved getting the thing of chalked string and taking it outside on the sidewalk to make a hopscotch. He helped my dad build a workbench in our basement and I remember how the glass jars of screws, bolts, and all the things all hung somehow from the lid. My grandpa also built a small workbench for my brother in our basement, complete with tools of all kinds, maybe some child-size. I liked to play with him at his workbench. Sometimes we would try to make something. I think he had a toy saw that would cut through styrofoam. It was all fun. I can still see that workbench near my dad’s and my brother used it for years. It paid off well because my brother can fix and make anything after learning from our dad.

To make this card, I made a card base of Gray Granite with a layer of Poppy Parade. On the left side of the card, I used the paper that looks like a pegboard and cut it at 3 1/4″ x 3 3/4″. On the right side is a piece of Basic White measuring 1 5/8″ x 3 3/4″. On this paper, I stamped a greeting from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set in Gray Granite ink. I think this would be perfect for someone you wanted to thank who fixed something for you! For the tools hung up on the pegboard, I cut them out by hand from the designer paper with ALL the tools on it! It was fun deciding which tools to use and what would look good on this card.

If you need to make some masculine cards or have a handyman in your life, you might want to choose this Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper as your free gift with a $50 purchase. There are lots of great choices and no limit to how many products you can earn with every $50 purchase.
