Daffodil Afternoon Hello Sunshine Card

Daffodil Afternoon Hello Sunshine Card

Our weather here has turned into spring, at least by afternoon, so I thought this Daffodil Afternoon Hello Sunshine Card was appropriate for this week! When you think of spring you often think of daffodils, tulips, and other spring weather flowers. On this card, I only used the Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper, even cutting out the flowers from the paper. This paper will only be available during Sale-A-Bration, which, unfortunately, is going to end on February 28.

The card base is a color I have barely used – Evening Evergreen cardstock. I added a layer of Basic White so the designer paper would show up a little better. I already had these strips cut as scraps and I wanted to use this background of strips of designer paper for the background card design. All I had to do was trim them to 3 3/4″ inches long. They were already 1 1/2″ wide. To get more patterns than three on this card I would have to make the strips narrower. I didn’t really do any math, just placed the strips on the Basic White so they were spaced evenly. I think the middle strip breaks up the strong flower designs of the other papers.

The center piece is one of the die cuts from the Scalloped Contours Dies in Evening Evergreen. Separately, I cut just a Basic White rectangle with the Paper Trimmer to fit inside the die-cut. Then I cut out by hand some of the daffodils in the designer paper and some stems and leaves to arrange on that Basic White center. First I stamped the greeting in the Special Moments Stamp Set. This is a stamp set you can earn with a $100 Sale-A-Bration purchase. It is great as it has so many good sentiments in it. This tiny sentiment fit perfectly in the small space I had for it.

The daffodils are just placed in a pleasing way with a few stems and leaves. Two of the flowers are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The other one and the stems and leaves are glued down with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Before I adhered the center piece, I thought it would also make a pretty tag on its own!

This Daffodil Afternoon paper is very pretty and easy to work with to make lots of cards, scrapbook pages, or other projects! Be sure you get some if you like it before it is gone in less than two weeks! Wow!

Hello Friend Greeting Card

Hello Friend Greeting Card

This Friendly Hello Stamp Set and the coordinating Friendly Hello Designer Paper go together to make all kinds of pretty cards for many occasions and you can get them both FREE during Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration with a $100 purchase! Sale-A-Bration is the annual promotion Stampin’ Up! has that we all love! One month is just about over but you still have February to get your free goodies!

I was playing with this set and several different easy card designs just came to me! This was one of them, even though I didn’t start off thinking I would use this greeting! The card base is Basic White, although the other cards I was making had colored cardstock bases. Just add a layer of the Pool Party patterned paper with the flowers and birds.

The greeting is stamped in Pool Party ink on Basic White and then die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies. The white paper and the little scalloped edge stand out just fine from the busy background so I didn’t need another layer behind the greeting.

For a little extra decoration, I stamped the two flowers in the set in Pool Party ink also, then cut them out by hand (easy enough!). I popped those flowers up on Stampin’ Dimensionals® covering part of the bottom of the greeting. It’s easy to just stamp these flowers in colored ink for the monochromatic look that you don’t have to color in!

The Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels were a great finishing touch as any sparkly embellishment is! I added two larger rhinestones to the flowers and then put three more of the smallest rhinestones on other parts of the card front. Can’t have too many jewels on a card! (Well, yes you can, but it’s hard to stop once you get started!!)

You can check out the Friendly Hello Bundle with the stamp set and Friendly Hello 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure on pages 12-13 or in the Online Store. You’ll see several pretty card samples there as well! AND the designer paper is meant to be stamped on with certain outline images if you want to play!

Don’t let Sale-A-Bration pass you by! You know time flies if it is already the end of January and it seems like Christmas was just over a week or so ago!! If you have a $100 order, choose this Friendly Hello Bundle and make something like this Hello Friend Greeting Card and lots more!

Awesome Otters Fish Birthday Card

Awesome Otters Fish Birthday Card

Make a fun birthday card for a fisherman, like this Awesome Otters Fish Birthday Card! This whimsical otter is swimming and having fun while catching a fish right in his paws! Perfect for the fisherman in your life! The best part is you can earn this Awesome Otters Stamp Set FREE during Sale-A-Bration this month and next with a $50 Stampin’ Up! purchase!

This card has just a Basic White card base with a layer of this paper that kind of suggests water in the Sunshine & Rainbows 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, another freebie during Sale-A-Bration you could choose! The Basic White textured rectangle was in with my paper and seemed like the right size I could use on this card. It was die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and then embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

To make it look like the otter is swimming in the water in a pond, perhaps, I die cut the center of that embossed piece with the largest die in the Tasteful Labels Dies. I popped this piece up with Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

The otter is stamped with Memento Ink and colored in with Stampin’ Blends markers. I used Soft Suede on the otter with Crumb Cake for his middle. The fish was colored with a couple of different colors so make yours whatever colors you like if you know what a certain fish looks like! I also stamped and colored in the little birthday hat. The otter and his birthday hat are then cut out and popped up on Dimensionals “in the water”.

The greeting is in the stamp set and is die cut with another of the Tasteful Labels Dies. I adhered a small little bow made with the Linen Thread. On the inside of the card, I stamped a birthday greeting from another set and also stamped another otter, the one who is swimming, in the lower corner in Pool Party ink.

And to make the water sparkle a bit, I added some Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Whatever card you make, just have fun with these Awesome Otters!

Awesome Otters Hello Card

Awesome Otters Hello Card

These Awesome Otters are going to be a fun stamp set for you to stamp with! You can even earn it as a free product during Sale-A-Bration this month and next with a $50 purchase! You get three otters doing different things. like this one doing a little swimming! On my Awesome Otters Hello Card he is swimming with the foliage around the pond! And wait until you see what you can get to go with the otters!

I wanted to use the swimming otter but I didn’t have quite the right thing to look like water so I placed him in the center of this Heart & Home Doily. Then I embossed some foliage on the Basic White to look like the weeds and grass around his swimming hole!

The card base is Misty Moonlight to match the blue doily. The doilies are part of the Heart & Home Suite and come in three colors (Basic Gray, Cinnamon Cider, and Misty Moonlight) plus white on the back of all of them! It also has a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock underneath the Basic White card front.

The swimming otter in the Awesome Otters Stamp Set is just stamped on a scrap of Basic White cardstock with Memento Ink. The otter and the water are colored in with Stampin’ Blends. I couldn’t leave the background just plain white so I went for an interesting sky! I think I scribbled in a bit of Pale Papaya and then colored over lightly with Pool Party. You can play and experiment with colors you like or leave it plain! I added a double bow of Linen thread.

The Basic White cardstock is embossed with one of the Greenery Embossing Folders. Then I colored lightly over the leaves and berries with Stampin’ Blend markers. I adhered that layer to the front of the card on top of the Crumb Cake cardstock, then popped up the doily on Dimensionals. The greeting “Hello” is in the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set and stamped with Misty Moonlight ink on a strip of Basic White. It seems like just the right size to go with the otter! Then I added two white dots of the new Classic Matte Dots on each side of the greeting.

Remember, you can get the Awesome Otters Stamp Set FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase! And if you want to, you can purchase some Otter postage stamps at the post office! I ordered mine online and they came the other day! These are the Otters In Snow Stamps!

Make some Awesome Otters cards and then use an Otter Stamp on your envelope! How fun is that!

Sunshine & Rainbows Birthday Wishes Card

Sunshine & Rainbows Birthday Wishes Card

Here’s a bright and happy card to start the New Year, this Sunshine & Rainbows Birthday Wishes Card. With things still disorganized at my house from moving things around for Christmas, I don’t even know what new products I have or where they are! I found one little pile and this paper was in it!

Beginning Tuesday, January 4 (yes, tomorrow!) the new Stampin’ Up! Spring Mini Catalog goes live plus our Sale-A-Bration promotion! Spend $50, get one free Sale-A-Bration product! This is everyone’s favorite promotion because who doesn’t like free product! This paper is used on this card is a Sale-A-Bration product that you can earn for free with a $50 purchase! It’s the Sunshine & Rainbows 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and it coordinates with the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle in the Spring Mini Catalog. Some images coordinate with the dies and the new punch.

I was surprised to find this polka dot paper in the package, I was thinking it was all going to be rainbows on the “front” side of the paper, but when I saw this colorful polka dot, I had to use it! The bottom striped portion is the opposite side of the polka dots side!

The card base is Magenta Madness. I cut one of the pieces of designer paper a little longer so that they could overlap and not just meet, although that would have worked out okay, I didn’t know which ribbon I was using at first. The striped bottom piece is 5 1/4″ x 1 3/4″ and the polka dot pattern is 5 1/4″ x 2 1/2″ so the two papers can overlap by about 1/4″. The ribbon I used is the White 3/4″ Frayed Ribbon in the Spring Mini.

The greeting is found in the Little Delights Stamp Set, stamped in Magenta Madness ink on Basic White cardstock, and die cut with a die in the Painted Labels Dies. Then the greeting is layered on one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies in Magenta Madness. It is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals over the wide ribbon. This stamp set is retiring from the Holiday Mini so TODAY is the LAST DAY for the great stamp set! Get it while you can!

To finish off this card, since the die cut behind the greeting was rather large, I felt like I should add something. Of course, that something was some jewels! I used the new Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels and a couple of the Gilded Gems from the Annual Catalog on each side of the Magenta Madness die cut. I’m not sure I love the placement of the gems, I didn’t feel like I was getting it right, but it’s right enough, so I decided to leave well enough alone! Sometimes you have to know when to stop!

*** Remember: Today is the last day for the LAST CHANCE PRODUCTS, the products retiring from the July-December 2021 Holiday Mini Catalog! Take a final look at your list and especially check in the Online Store to see what is still available! Check the Clearance Rack, too, as long as you are looking! There are a few things you could even use for making Valentine projects soon, plus punches, embossing folders, great dies, Gold Mini Pizza Boxes (great for treats, little 3″ x 3″ cards, small gift)

One more day until the new January-June 2022 Spring Mini Catalog AND Sale-A-Bration! Sleep well so you are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed tomorrow!! Happy New Year and Shopping!
