Yes, the month of June has flown by! School is out and vacations are underway! When you have a minute, click on the photos above to see the entire flyer of Designer Series Papers that are discounted by 15%. You’ll find these papers on pages 129 – 132 in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog PLUS the Hello, Irresistible DSP in the Online Exclusives. Thirteen papers in total to choose from!

Here’s my take on these papers!

  • Bright & Beautiful: These are 6″ x 6″ sheets, 4 each of 12 double-sided designs. Very festive, lots of colors, use them for lots of occasions and projects.
  • Countryside Inn: Perfect for “blue” lovers with 4 different colors of blue! Pretty florals and I love the pages with the bunnies, foxes, birds, and trees. Something different!
  • Delightfully Eclectic: This is a HUGE pack of 12″ x 12″ paper, 48 sheets! All kinds of pretty and fun designs….like PRETZELS! Also, a little alphabet, swans, geometric designs, florals, and more! Some images coordinate with the Inked & Tiled Punch Pack.
  • Earthen Elegance: Beautiful, rich colors of the earth! Some images are photos of hand-glazed pottery. These new colors and designs evoke feelings and images of nature.
  • Fresh As a Daisy: What is there to say? Everyone likes daisies! Beautiful color combinations! One sheet has multiple individual designs that you can cut apart for multiple card designs out of one sheet!
  • Glorious Gingham: These 6″ x 6″ sheets are perfect for multiple projects and come in some of the new colors in the Color Refresh. I think Gingham has a “happy” look to it!
  • Inked Botanicals: This paper was designed by Stampin’ Up! artists by pressing actual inked flowers onto the paper! So many pretty colors, botanicals, and various patterns in this pack of designer paper!
  • Let’s Go Fishing: An obvious choice for the fisherman in your life, a great masculine choice we are always on the lookout for, but not exclusively for men, of course! My girlfriend caught the only fish of the day recently out with her husband with her fishing pole just dangling over the side of the boat!
  • Les Shoppes: Build your little scene or town with these buildings and authentic shops, plus pastries, books, and food! Something different and fun to play with!
  • Masterfully Made: These papers are really different and SO interesting! The torn paper look adds lots of texture and color to your project. Add on a little torn paper of your own and the recipient will wonder which is real and which is printed! Lots of watercolor looks as well.
  • Stargazing: This one is certainly different than we have ever had and quite something! The papers have spectacular designs of the galaxy and cosmos and paired with the rest of the Suite you have so many creative possibilities! I could see this being a theme for a birthday party for kids! And I’ve always been interested in space, growing up during the early days of space exploration.
  • Zoo Crew: Too cute and fun for words! Get it!
  • Hello, Irresistible: Not shown in the catalog but online only, but I fall in love with the paper more and more! So soft and pretty with embossed-look designs! Get it while it lasts.

Tomorrow, Friday, June 30th, is the VERY LAST DAY of this sale! Don’t forget!

Wrap Gifts With Designer Paper

Wrap Gifts With Designer Paper

If you happen to run out of wrapping paper as you wrap your Christmas gifts, or gifts any time of year, consider this idea: Wrap Gifts With Designer Paper!

This is a gift for my son and this particular pattern of paper in the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper I thought would be a fun one for him since he sees some of these animals when he is out hiking where he lives. This paper was in the Holiday Mini Catalog LAST year but surprisingly was carried over to this year. Right now it is discounted on the Year-End Closeout by Stampin’ Up! so it really is a good deal. There is even some “official” Toile Tidings wrapping paper discounted over 50% off on the Clearance Rack right now.

I did not make a box, I just adhered this paper on to the box the gift is packed in. He’s going to have to rip the paper off to get inside the box! I only had one full sheet of this animal paper and another partial sheet so I had to piece it together somewhat. The top is not really a lid, it is another sheet of paper with the checked design folded over the top and that is also just adhered to the box, not really a lift-off lid. I used the Stampin’ Seal+ adhesive for a good strong bond.

The reason I am posting this gift-wrapping idea is to give you a reason to use up your designer paper (maybe especially retired paper that we all hoard!), maybe look for some paper that makes the gift more personalized, and keep you from rushing out to the store for more wrapping paper! You can use some of your old ribbon (or new!) as well.

Now yesterday at the same time I was getting ready to wrap this package, Sara Douglass, Stampin’ Up! CEO was going live on Facebook showing an easy way to make designer paper gift boxes with NO CUTTING! I felt like we were both a little bit on the same wavelength! I just sort of tried her method when I made the lid of my box, although, as I said, it’s not a lid that lifts off, it is glued down. But I did the corners as she did!

Here is the link to Sara’s video on Facebook (if it works!). Don’t forget other gift-wrapping ideas you can use rather than spending a lot of money on wrapping paper or rather than running out to the store.

  • Use designer paper or cardstock to make small gift bags.
  • Use designer paper or cardstock to make small gift boxes.
  • Use gift bags you already have from shopping and decorate the front right over the store printing.
  • Stamp on plain white computer paper or cardstock to make your own designer paper to wrap a gift.
  • Decorate kraft or white lunch sacks you may have in your pantry to hold a gift.
  • Stamp on or use brown packing paper you might receive in shipped gifts and then embellish the package with Stampin’ Up! ribbon and embellishments.
  • Make your own gift tags with kits, punches, or die-cut squares, rectangles or circles.

Those are just a few ideas I hope you will find helpful as we all get pressed for time! I think we all have designer paper that we can spare for wrapping gifts that will make a high quality gift presentation! Keep that idea in mind of wrapping gifts with designer paper whether for Christmas now or future occasions!

New Stampin’ Up! Catalog Products Coming Soon!

New Catalog Products 1

I was lucky enough to receive my Stampin’ Up! preorder, available to Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators during May, on Friday high and dry! With all the rain we were having since Tuesday, I was worried that my box of beautiful new catalog products could be getting wet and damaged one way or another before it arrived on my porch! But fortunately, it wasn’t pouring down rain when the box arrived and all is well!

However, with all the weekend hoopla with rain and Mother’s Day, I haven’t gotten to play with anything yet, but I did get these photos taken. The lighting isn’t great but they will give you an idea of how lovely some of these new designer papers are.

The top photo shows the new In Color ink pads. You might notice one color is missing. There is a quality control issue with the Purple Posy ink so that one is delayed right now. Hopefully, they will get it all corrected soon. The new In Colors 2019-2021 are Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, and Terracotta Tile as I have them lined up in the photo. I also got the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack of Mossy Meadow Linen Thread and 3/8″ Linen Ribbon with white edges. Over on the right side is beautiful 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim in Very Vanilla and below it the beautiful 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon in Petal Pink. The dies on the left are the Magnolia Memory Dies. On the right are the Stitched Nested Labels.

New Catalog Products Punches

I chose these two punches (to start with!). The one on the left is the Perennial Flower Punch that goes with the Floral Essence Stamp Set. You can punch several of these petals and stack them to make a 3D flower. The one on the right is the Hot Air Balloon Punch which I bought because I’ve seen samples of magnolia flowers made with the punch (rather than a hot air balloon!).

New Catalog Products Bird Ballad DSP

This is the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, and even though I am not into birds, I love this paper! The images are so cute and pretty. It goes with the Bird Ballad Suite and Free As a Bird Stamp Set.

New Catalog Products Bird Ballad DSP2

This is the other side of the Bird Ballad papers.

New Catalog Products Garden Lane DSP

This paper (lighting not very good!) is the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper. It’s very pretty so I couldn’t pass it up!

New Catalog Products Garden Lane DSP2

This is the other side of the Garden Lane Designer Paper. So pretty!

New Catalog Products Magnolia Lane DSP

This paper is in the Magnolia Lane Suite, the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. I bet this suite is going to be one of the most popular products

New Catalog Products Magnolia Lane DSP2

Here is the opposite side of the Magnolia Lane papers. Also pretty!

New Catalog Products Perennial Essence DSP

THIS PAPER! The Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper is hand-painted impressionistic imagery in rich colors, the catalog says. This photo doesn’t do it justice and I’m not sure it is a paper most people would just pick out on their own. But I’ve seen some gorgeous samples using this paper so I had to have it.

New Catalog Products Perennial Essence DSP2

This is the opposite side of the Perennial Essence Designer Paper. Also beautiful.

New Catalog Stamp Sets

Here are the stamp sets I chose just to start in my pre-order! Just couldn’t have everything at once!

I also bought a package of the new In Colors cardstock but forgot to photograph it. We only had select products to choose from in our pre-order, not the whole catalog. Probably just as well because it was hard enough to choose from the pre-order! If I was super-rich, I would want it all, of course!

The new catalog goes live on June 4th. Even if you don’t have a copy, you will be able to see it online. If you are interested in Stampin’ Up! products and do not have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator you are working with, email me at Karen@Karenstamps.com with your contact information. Let me know if you are a new stamper or experienced and what you are most interested in making. If you would like a copy of the new catalog I would be happy to mail you a complimentary copy and be your Demonstrator.

In the meantime, be sure to shop the Last-Chance List of retiring products. It’s best to go to the Online Store and see what is available rather than read through the list. Also, for some fun bargains, don’t miss the Clearance Rack!
