This Begonia Belle Celebrate Hot Foil Card sort of grew and grew in its design as I worked on it! I could think it is too busy and I overdid it, or I could think it turned out great! Better than I ever planned! Mainly what I wanted to do was stamp and do some hot foiling with the leafy Botanical Glow Bundle. But then I kept adding things!
The card base is Basic White and the top layer is also Basic White. You could certainly use some colored cardstock for the card base. I stamped the Botanical Glow leaf stamp in Lost Lagoon ink. Then I used the Botanical Glow Hot Foil Die to add the Gold Foil leaves. The stamp set and hot foil die do not match up, so you don’t even have to try to get everything even.
After doing the leaves in hot foil, I used my Water Painter brush to add some green color. I forgot which ink I used, plus I tried adding a little yellow and orange. That didn’t show up as I thought it would, but I’ll try using several colors to make them look like fall leaves another time. You may think it would be tedious to do each leaf, but somehow it is easy and fun! The foil pretty much resists the ink, but you can always dab it with a paper towel if you get too much ink and water inside the leaf.
When the leaves were all finished, I spotted some stamped flowers from the Begonia Belle Stamp Set, a Product of the Month recently. If you haven’t ordered it before and if it is still available, you can choose it with a $75 order. I thought maybe a begonia would look nice with all the leaves in the background. I stamped one with Melon Mambo, doing some stamping off once or twice with the two-step stamps and the leaves. I fussy-cut the flower and leaves and popped the flower up on Stampin’ Dimensionals with the leaves stuck underneath.
For the greeting, I chose one of the words hot foiled in gold from the Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies. I love these for the font, the words, and how beautiful they look foiled and diecut. I popped up the greeting on Stampin’ Dimensionals also.
For a little sparkle, I added some retired Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink Gems to go with the flower. As I said, I partly thought maybe I did too much on this card, but I also partly thought I loved it! What do you think?

I have to say, doing this hot foiling is really something else! Every single time you peel off the foil and see what you have just made, it is amazing how beautiful it is! Also, remember, if there is a stamp set you like that is in the hot foil category, you can still buy just the stamp set and use it without hot foiling. They are just regular photopolymer stamp sets you can use any time!
