This card starts with a card base of Real Red cardstock and a layer of Basic White cardstock. It has a top fold just for something different. I had a 2″ scrap of Real Red that I cut down to 5 1/4″ to fit on the Basic White layer and embossed it with the Seasonal Cheer candy canes embossing folder. This set of embossing folders has the candy canes, autumn leaves, and Halloween bats. They are narrow folders, not full size. I hadn’t even remembered to use mine but I thought they were good for lots of designs.
Once you have your basic card ready to design, pull out your Season of Celebration Ephemera Pack and see what you have. You can punch out lots of pieces, play around with different ones, and see what design you end up with! Once you lay out your design, take a picture of the design with your phone so you can put the pieces back in the proper places that you have chosen after moving them to adhere them. These particular ephemera pieces have adhesive on the back, so you can just peel off the backing and use them like stickers. If you want to pop something up, just leave on the backing and use Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I decided to use two of the gifts and a plaid circle for a little extra something in the background. I even chose a greeting that was in the package and popped that up with Dimensionals. You could pop up one or more of the packages if you wanted. I also added two greenery pieces to the side of the greeting. You could also stamp a greeting and not use ephemera for that if you liked. For a final touch, I added three silver sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Sequins for a little sparkle.
In case you were waiting for the Season of Celebration Ephemera Pack to be back in stock, I have good news! As of yesterday, the ephemera pack was back in stock! If you ever want to order something or think you might want to order something that is “currently unavailable,” go ahead and fill out the email form that will be right there on the screen so that you will be notified as soon as it is available again. This is a great system. If you know a product is super popular, it would be wise to order right away when you get that email notification because some things go right back out of stock.
Ephemera packs are great for cardmaking, especially for beginners, and certainly for scrapbooking. Even if you don’t use this pack for cardmaking, you can prepare some scrapbook pages or small album pages ahead of time and add these cute ephemera pieces!
