Save $5 on a 3-Month Prepaid Paper Pumpkin Subscription

Save $5 on a 3-Month Prepaid Paper Pumpkin Subscription
During Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration, you can save $5 on a 3-month Prepaid Subscription to Paper Pumpkin, the papercrafting kit that comes in your mailbox once a month! AND you will qualify for a free Sale-A-Bration item! You can order JUST the prepaid subscription (although you will have to pay $6.95 shipping for your free Sale-A-Bration item) or add it to any Stampin’ Up! order. Even if you are doing the monthly subscription, if you want to get credit toward Hostess Dollars on your Stampin’ Up! order, you can purchase the prepaid subscription and your monthly subscription will continue after your prepaid is used up. Trust me, it works somehow! I should remember to do it that way more often myself!

The great news is that if you order one or more prepaid subscriptions today or tomorrow (by Jan. 10th) you will receive the January kit! The 10th of the month is the date to remember if you want to pause or cancel or START your Paper Pumpkin subscription. You can still sign up after the 10th and receive the next month’s kit.  Even if you have never stamped, you will find all the materials you need in the kit, including a clear block on which to mount the stamps in your very first kit.

Read all about Paper Pumpkin here or email me with questions. The kit is not always cards, but it is always a surprise each month and something to look forward to in your mailbox besides bills and junk mail! The December 2015 kit was a calendar on a little stand, which I intend to turn into a small photo album at the end of the year. Other kits have been cards, gift boxes, framed art, holiday treat bags, gift bags, etc. You can keep the stamp set and ink spot to use over and over, and sometimes you might have extra supplies to use on other projects. Follow the directions for the project (and watch the video!) or make your own version!

Put Paper Pumpkin on your Stampin’ Up! Order today (or tomorrow!) to receive the January kit!

Paper Pumpkin December 2015 Kit Calendar

Paper Pumpkin December 2015 Kit Calendar in Stand

I received my December 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit in the mail before Christmas and finally got around to making it!  I knew it was a calendar so I knew I better get it made! As cute as it is as a calendar, I don’t really need a calendar like this, so I looked for alternate ideas, which you can do with any of the Paper Pumpkin kits. I actually found a great idea on the Stampin’ Up! Blog HERE, to make the pages into a photo album rather than a calendar.  I can choose a photo for every month as the year goes along. For this project, I turned the calendar pages sideways rather than vertical as designed in the kit. And actually I can still have it sitting out as a decorative calendar for 2016 and make it into an album at the end of the year!

It was fun putting this calendar together and doing some stamping! Stampin’ Up! always provides a video showing how to assemble the project and all materials you need (except maybe glue and scissors) plus the instructions. With your first kit, you receive a clear block for mounting the photopolymer stamps that come in the kit. So each Paper Pumpkin kit has a set of stamps, an ink spot, and all the supplies to make the papercrafting project!

Here are the months for the calendar.

The Paper Pumpkin Kits are getting so popular that the refills for this kit sold out very quickly. To avoid seeing something you like but being unable to purchase it, you should become a Paper Pumpkin subscriber yourself! You can subscribe by the month, or you can add a subscription to your Stampin’ Up! order.

Stampin’ Up! will be offering a special on a 3-Month Prepaid Paper Pumpkin Subscription starting January 5th, when Sale-A-Bration starts! Instead of paying $59.85 for a 3-month subscription, you will only pay $55. And when you spend over $50, you instantly qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration item, just by purchasing the prepaid Paper Pumpkin Subscription for 3 months!

Do something special for yourself and get a Paper Pumpkin Kit! You will look forward to that red box showing up in your mailbox each month! Put a prepaid subscription on your Stampin’ Up! order between January 5-10 so that you receive the January kit!

Tree Punch Christmas Tree Tag

Tree Punch Christmas Tree Tag

Here is my Tree Punch Christmas Tree Tag, a sample tag I had made for our tag-making day last weekend.  The designer paper I used is retired, from last year I think, a paper stack called Festival of Prints. This was a sample to see if I liked the tree so it didn’t matter what I used. Of course you can use any paper or stamped card stock. I also had cut out circles of Gold Glimmer Paper to use as layers instead of the designer paper and that looked really pretty too – just didn’t take any photos. The tag base is Cherry Cobbler (because I was out of Real Red, if you can believe it!) The stars are stamped in Crushed Curry ink from the To You and Yours Too Stamp Set. This is the stamp set that coordinates with the To You & Yours Shaker Card Kit.

To make the tree, just punch two trees with the Tree Punch and either cut off the tree trunks and add one you cut yourself from a sliver of a scrap or leave the bottom one on.  Fold the trees in half lengthwise, open, then using the Stampin’ Up! cute Handheld Stapler, staple in the center longways on the fold.  This will hold the trees together but allow them to be separated and fluffed up to look 3D.  I guess no reason you couldn’t staple three trees together for more oomph!  Punch a hole in the top and string ribbon through for a tag or use it for an ornament!

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Monthly Papercrafting Kit

It’s time to remind you about Paper Pumpkin!  The 10th of the month is always the date to be signed up by to receive that month’s kit. Sign up today or tomorrow and get the December kit in the mail around mid-month. Order extras and give as a gift or give it to yourself as a gift for all you are doing for everyone else right now in this busy season! Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription from Stampin’ Up! with a surprise inside that comes in the mail.  Each month is a new papercrafting/stamping kit complete with all the supplies for the project except for basic adhesive and scissors (if even needed). You receive a set of photopolymer stamps, a small ink spot, and all the supplies for the project.  It might be cards or gift boxes or a mini album or a decor piece or party favor or candy holder — it’s always a surprise! Paper Pumpkin has gotten tons better since it started so if you tried it way back when, you really need to try again and see how it has improved.  Lots more stuff!!  Make the project the way it is designed or do it your own way. No obligation, stop when you need to or just pause your subscription for a month or two.

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Monthly Papercrafting Kit

Click for more information or to join!

Stampin’ Up! offers monthly papercrafting kits called Paper Pumpkin that come to you in the mail!  Everything is included in the kit (stamps, ink, paper, and accessories) to create the surprise project. Past kits have included cards, mini album, framed piece, treat bags, gift boxes, and more! Every month is a surprise and a treat for you!

Treat yourself to a little bit of crafting time that you don’t even have to think about! Last summer we had a lot of trouble with our electricity going off and one Sunday it was off all day with 90+ degree temperatures outside. After lunch I got out my recent Paper Pumpkin Kit to assemble and it was great! No designing of a project, no jumping up and down to get my supplies, no thinking outside the box (no pun intended).  It was all right there, no need to exert myself in the un-airconditioned heat.  I could just work and take my mind off the extreme heat! Stamping is something you can do with no electricity, unlike many other things!

With the first kit, you will also receive a clear block on which to mount the stamps each month that come in the kit.  You can use these stamps in the future, not just with the kit.  Sometimes kits have leftover supplies that you can use another time. You can follow the directions that come with the kit or strike out on your own doing your own thing. Do a little of both. That’s what I sometimes do.

Stampin’ Up! always provides a link to a video that you can watch for each month’s kit if you would like a little more visual guidance.  Here is the one for these really cute treat bags that could be used for Halloween or for fall or Thanksgiving.

The important thing to know is that to receive this month’s kit (November) you need to sign up by November 10th.  After that, the kits start being shipped out so that they are received about mid-month.  You will be thrilled to find the Paper Pumpkin red box in your mailbox! If you sign up after the 10th, you will start with the next month’s kit.

Each month is just $19.95 which includes shipping. If you prefer, you can also add Prepaid subscriptions to your regular Stampin’ Up! order.  You can also give these as gifts.  Change the quantity of your order any month or even pause your subscription if you choose.  If Paper Pumpkin is not for you, just cancel.  No risk, no obligation.

More About BCRF

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) advances the world’s most promising research to eradicate breast cancer. Founded by Evelyn H. Lauder in 1993, BCRF has raised more than $550 million to fuel discoveries in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, survivorship and metastasis, making it one of the largest non-governmental funders of breast cancer research in the world. This year BCRF has invested $58.6 million in research, to support over 235 researchers at leading medical institutions across six continents, including $11.6 million to the international Evelyn H. Lauder Founder’s Fund focused on metastasis. By spending 91 cents of every dollar on research and public awareness programs, BCRF remains one of the nation’s most fiscally responsible nonprofits. BCRF is the only breast cancer organization with an “A+” from CharityWatch, and has been awarded Charity Navigator’s highest rating of four stars 13 times since 2002. For more information, please visit: www.bcrfcure.org.
Mini spoiler alert! The October project inside the pink box is just as awesome as always, but we should probably let you know that it is not a pink project. That’s all we’re saying. 😉

How to Make a Bra Card

Stampin' Up! Bra Card

Today I am going to give you some ideas on how to make a Bra Card! This is an idea from a long time ago and I haven’t seen it recently. I thought it might be fun to bring up the idea again with it being October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

To make the card base, fold paper in half and place Heart Framelit Die (I used the second largest die). The Heart Framelit Die is retired now but if you already own it you can use it or at least it will give you the idea! You can make your own heart shape just out of paper and trace around it. Anyway, leave the fold at the top untouched so that the card will open.

Bra Card Big Shot

Next, cut a similar piece just out of one layer of card stock which will become the actual bra piece or at least the template if you want to keep it to make more.

Bra Card Template

Bra Card Template Cut out

With this piece, I folded it in half and then contoured it just freehand with my scissors in the bra shape I wanted.  Nothing scientific about this, you know they come in lots of shapes so you can make it wide or narrow or straight or rounded, however you want.  I used this piece for a template to cut out the pink card stock.

On the pink card stock, I stamped with Versamark the flourish from Everything Eleanor and then embossed with Stampin’ White Embossing Powder  and the Heat Tool to look lacy.  And I added a bit of Venetian Crochet Trim for a bit of lace.  For the straps, I just cut two thin scraps.  For the necklace, I drew on a silver chain with a Sharpie and added a Rhinestone Jewel.

You can make these bra cards with designer paper or plain card stock blinged up with rhinestones or pearls or embossing, both heat and with the Big Shot folders or with stamping a design.  So many creative choices!  Glue it on a larger card if you prefer!

Stampin’ Up! is helping in the fight against breast cancer by donating to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF.org) for each Paper Pumpkin subscription.

Stampin’ Up! will donate $1 for every active Paper Pumpkin subscriber by October 10th

plus, an additional $1 for every new subscriber.

Witching Decor Project Kit Witch Hat

If you are interested in this Witching Decor Project Kit, order it right away! Stampin’ Up! says demand is growing the closer we get to fall and Halloween and once they run out there will not be time to order more.  I LOVE this kit and made my witch’s hat in probably about two hours, if that.  It is not difficult.  The most time-consuming part is punching out the die-cut leaves, stamping a little texture (nothing exact) on them, crumpling and stringing. You will also need the Witches’ Night Stamp Set if you want to stamp the Halloween label on the front. But if you want, you can make up something with whatever stamps you have.  But I do love that label as is!

If you like Halloween like I do, you DO want this kit!  But I strongly suggest you order it as soon as possible so you can get one!  I think it is one of the best kits Stampin’ Up! has done.

Paper Pumpkin Kits to the Rescue!

Paper Pumpkin August 2015 Kit ProjectsI have to say my Paper Pumpkin kits saved my sanity yesterday! Pictured above are just some of the projects in the August Paper Pumpkin Kit. I stopped with those in case I wanted to make anything different with the remaining materials. I would vote the August Paper Pumpkin Kit probably the easiest and prettiest kit to date. There were lots of other kits I also loved, but this one was really so easy and turned out so nicely. And that’s what I needed yesterday!

Our power went off yesterday at 8:30 am, not due to any storm or anything wrong that I could see.  I even thought we had a new transformer or something for our part of the neighborhood put in recently due to the frequent outages we were having. In the many, many years we have lived here in Houston, we have never had the power go off as much as it did there for awhile a couple months ago.  Even after hurricanes and tropical storms, OUR power came back on in a few hours, even if others’ didn’t for a couple weeks.  Maybe this is payback!

Thank goodness now for email notifications from the electric company telling us what was going on (or not going on!). As we passed the first estimated time of repair and another couple hours was estimated, I suddenly realized the air-conditioner was not running and would not be and it was going to get HOT in here! For lunch I went to Subway and picked up sandwiches and a cold, icy Coke since we couldn’t open the refrigerator with the power off. As the next email said “repairs were taking longer than estimated”, but, by golly, they were trying really hard to fix it, the temperature climbed to 93 degrees outside, according to my phone. Now that’s cool compared to what we had not long ago, 100+, so I should be grateful. We closed all the blinds to keep the heat out, didn’t talk or move much.

Finally I decided I needed something to do to take my mind off how hot it was getting inside, so I got out my new August Paper Pumpkin Kit that just arrived the other day! What a blessing that kit was, this one in particular! I really liked it from seeing the kit and it was oh so easy to make! It was too hot to think about designing something or even copying something, too hot to be hopping up and down for supplies. The Paper Pumpkin kit made it easy. I didn’t have to think about what to make, I liked what I was making, and everything I needed was right there in the box except for scissors to cut the ribbon. The cards and gift boxes went together quickly. When I was finished with that kit, I moved on another kit I hadn’t worked on yet. Again, it was cute, easy to make, and everything was right there.  No need to get sweaty making a card!

Paper Pumpkin Kits Power Off

To wind up my power outage story, we went out for dinner to cool off and went somewhere where I could sit by an electric plug to recharge my laptop. That was all great and while we were gone it rained at home so maybe it cooled off a bit. As we sat here in the dark in the evening, and the latest repair estimate of 9 pm came and went, we decided maybe it was time to head to a hotel for the night.  Good news!  As we began throwing a few things into a suitcase, in the dark with flashlights, the power came back on!!! Perfect timing, and saved us at least $100 to stay cool for the night. The power was off for 13 hours, but we survived.

My Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Kits really came in handy yesterday to keep me occupied during a stressful time (and who doesn’t have stressful times even with the power on?!) and gave me a sense of accomplishment knowing I got something done even without electricity! Stamping is something we can do even without power. And maybe it’s a good idea to keep at least one Paper Pumpkin kit on the shelf for just such an occasion when you need it!
