Pop of Pink Swirly Scribbles Polka Dot Scalloped Tag

Here is a quick and easy project to make a Pop of Pink Swirly Scribbles Polka Dot Scalloped Tag. I simply punched a tag with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch out of the polka dot pattern of one of the papers in the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper. I first was going to use some other die cut flowers, but then I thought it might be fun to see how the Swirly Scribbles die cuts might work. I chose three colors in the Brights family: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. I also die cut some green leaves.

The banner is stamped with the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set, both on Whisper White and Real Red so that the greeting cut be cut and adhered to the Real Red banner. These were punched with the Duet Banner Punch. You can purchase this stamp set and the punch in a Thoughtful Banners Bundle and save 10%!

Make a Paper Tassel with Stampin’ Up! Cardstock!

Did you ever think about making a paper tassel with your cardstock? I didn’t until I saw this idea in a magazine! Tassels seem to be the trendy thing right now, especially in jewelry. Why not add them to your papercrafting?!

I’m sure you can modify these instructions to suit the look you want as you play around with the idea.

Cut card stock 6″ x 10″.
Cut strips 1/2″ x 10″.
Measure the center of each strip and put a pencil mark (just if you want something closer to perfection! Otherwise just eyeball it!)
Lay the strips in a starburst pattern, glueing each one on top of the other. I used the Multiipurpose Liquid Glue (sometimes know as the “green” glue for the color of the bottle!). Let dry. (See photo below)
With the center of the starburst in the palm of one hand, gently cup the strips together to form the tassel.
Take a piece of ribbon and lay it through the inside of the tassel so that you can tie it on to something later if you want.
Take another strip of cardstock (I used Gold Foil Sheets) and make the piece that ties around the bundle about one inch down from the top of the tassel. I used Fast Fuse to adhere the ends of the Gold Foil sheet.
That’s it! Tie the tassel on to a package, a gift box, a banner, whatever you like!
Try variations like using different shades of the same color card stock or designer paper.

Here are the new Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals for you! These are good today through Monday, February 29. Wow! February is almost gone, and it is a Leap Year so we get an extra day in February!

This week we have a flower punch, the Flower Medallion Punch, that coordinates with the flower in Crazy About You. You can also use it to punch cardstock or designer paper to make a multitude of flowers! The Happy Heart Embossing Folder just got a workout for Valentine’s Day, but of course hearts aren’t just for Valentine’s Day! You can use it for any sweet card, birthdays, anniversaries, all occasions really. The Stars Framelits Dies are great to have on hand! I’m a big believer in having “stars” to use on all kinds of cards such as congratulations, graduation, kids’ cards, 4th of July, birthdays – you name it!

We also have the 2015-17 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers on sale! I use my markers a lot in various projects. And if you don’t own all the ink colors, you can get by with the markers. Just color directly on the stamp with the marker. And if you like buttons, we have the Classy Designer Buttons which are a vanilla color. Great neutral to use for many projects, but if you prefer, color them with Sharpies for a custom color.

January 2016 Paper Pumpkin Valentine Treats

I’m getting some Valentine treats ready made from my January 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit. This kit makes a banner for Valentine’s Day and these heart-shaped treat bags. All you need is some chocolate candy to put inside. (Candy purchased for professional purposes only, of course!!!) All supplies came in the kit including the strips of adhesive used to glue the sides of the hearts together. You can use the included stamp set to personalize your hearts and you can even write a messsage of love on the back!

Today is the day! If you would like to get the next Paper Pumpkin Kit in your mailbox in February, subscribe today or add a prepaid subscription to your Stampin’ Up! order. Don’t look if you haven’t received or opened your Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit yet!

Mine is still unopened in the box, but it was a busy week and I think this weekend might be a good time for some Paper Pumpkin time! Don’t delay too long with your kit as there is a time factor involved! And I have to remind myself of this, too — you can use the stamp set that comes in the kit for other stamping projects! I often use it for the kit project and then put it away! I missed out on using the greetings in one kit on other cards for a holiday because I just didn’t think about it! Some people store their photopolymer Paper Pumpkin stamps in the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Photo Pocket Pages and then in an album for easy access. I think I need to get organized and do that!

Keep in mind, with each kit you can follow the directions….or not! Sometimes you can make part of the kit as they describe and then make alternate projects with the remainder of the pieces. So besides reading the directions, you can also watch how to make the kit.

You can order extras for gifts! On the prepaid kits, you will receive an email from Stampin’ Up! telling you have to set up and activate your account with a special code.
