Do you ever look through your packs of designer series paper and say, “Oh, I forgot I had this paper!” or “Oh, I haven’t used this one in a long time!” That’s how I came across this paper, so I made this Painted Patch Pumpkins Hello Card with the Painted Patch Designer Series Paper. I love this paper! It has so many interesting patterns in it, and although I have used it, I haven’t used it enough!
I didn’t go crazy thinking of a hundred different cards I could make with this and which paper I should use, etc. I just jumped in with the first patterns that caught my eye. The card base is one of the new In Colors, Golden Glow. I thought this pattern of the Painted Patch DSP with a Golden Glow background, with leaf shapes that are not filled in with color or design, looked nice for a background of pumpkins!
Although this paper is part of the Painted Patch Suite Collection, and the designer series paper and stamp set include dies that cut out certain pumpkins and other elements, I don’t own the dies, so I fussy-cut the pumpkins from one of the sheets of designer paper. I have the new Detail Scissors, which took the place of the scissors we have used for years. I just played around a little bit arranging the colorful pumpkins and thinking about a greeting until I had them positioned how I liked them. All but the pumpkin in the back are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting is stamped in Cajun Craze ink on a piece of Very Vanilla. This was diecut with one of the Sweet Words & Labels Dies. The sentiment is from the Simply Leaves Stamp Set. For a finishing touch, I added some Painted Patch Dots randomly around the card.
If you want to see another card made with the Painted Patch DSP, check out this one and this one.
Check out your supply of designer series papers and see what paper you have neglected for a while! I bet you will find something you will enjoy!
