Tangerine Tango Snow Swirled Christmas Card

Tangerine Tango Snow Swirled Christmas Card

Why would I make a Christmas card using Stampin' Up! Tangerine Tango card stock?? It's because Tangerine Tango is quite an important and newsworthy color! Pantone has chosen Tangerine Tango as its top color for 2012 for fashion, beauty and home!  And Stampin' Up! already has it! Pantone Color Institute creates color standards that we all use everyday.

So I wondered, in light of this news, if I could create a Christmas card using the unlikely color of Tangerine Tango.  This is what I came up with using the beautiful Snow Swirled tree and the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder for the Big Shot.

Maybe we'll be seeing a lot of Tangerine Tango in the New Year!

Did you know you can sort by color when you go to my Stampin' Up! Online Store?  In the left column at my store, just click "Shop By Color", then choose the color group and then the specific color if you want.

Don't forget to check the Clearance Rack Blitz going on now until Jan. 5!!

Season of Joy Christmas Tree Gift Bag for the Holidays!

Season of Joy Christmas Tree Gift Bag

Using this tree from Season of Joy #110384 and the Top Note Die to decorate a gift bag for Christmas is one of the quickest projects I have ever done.  Use those shopping bags you accumulate from stores and decorate with your own creative touch!  Fancy gift bag for free!

  • Ink tree from Season of Joy in Old Olive.  Wipe off star at top and use Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker to color in. "Huff" on stamp to remoisten and stamp on Whisper White Top Note die cut. Stamp greeting in Cherry Cobbler ink.
  • Cut along scored border to trim die cut and layer on Cherry Cobbler Top Note Die cut.  This makes a border in the same shape!
  • Adhere a piece of Cherry Cobbler 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon across the bag using SNAIL in the center.  Tie the sides with Linen Thread.  Trim ends and adhere with Mini Glue Dots.

  • Adhere Christmas Tree piece over ribbon using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Add some Rhinestone Jewels to the tree if you like or to the star on top!

If you are still looking for Christmas ideas or ways to wrap those Christmas presents, try this gift bag idea with whatever stamps, ribbon, and embellishments you have on hand.

If you need some stamping supplies, you can always go to my Stampin' Up! Online Store 24/7 and choose whatever you need!

Petal Cone Die Santa….Cute, Cute, Cute!!!!

Petal Cone Die Santa

Is this Petal Cone Die Santa not the cutest thing??!!!!  There are many versions online and I copied one of them.  We made this in our stamp camp this past weekend and I think everyone loved it.  Just imagine having one at each place setting at your holiday dinner either as a place card or filled with candy or treats as a Christmas party favor!

The box is made with the Petal Cone Die #121810 with Real Red card stock.  His beard is another cut with the Petal Cone Die but I trimmed just one triangle section and then embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I cut it off about half way so that some of the red box would show for Santa's hat.

The moustache is from the Bird Builder Punch #117191 (the wings!) as are the green holly leaves with part of the stem cut off. Just punch some small circles for the berries and a larger one for Santa's nose.

The Silver Glimmer Paper #124005 hat fur is a little tricky.  First punch a little bit out with the Scallop Oval Punch #119856 to get the bottom part, then punch with the Scallop Punch #119854  to get the top edge. Place it on Santa's head where it fits the best.  His face is Blushing Bride card stock cut with the Large Oval Punch #119859. I chose to just color in his eyes with a black marker and add the little highlights with our Signo Gel Pen #105021.

The little pom pom on top of his hat is punched from the Boho Blossoms Punch #119858.

Once you sit down to make this Petal Cone Die Santa, you will see that he is very easy and fun.  You can change up a lot of the design to make it your own or substitute for what supplies you don't have.

If you need any of these supplies, just contact me or visit my Online Store for all your Stampin' Up! supplies!  Still time to get them before Christmas!

Have fun!!!

Punch Art Snowman Christmas Card

Punch Art Snowman Christmas Card

This punch art snowman Christmas card is inspired from one in an old papercrafting magazine. No directions were given but I thought it would be easy to duplicate with our Stampin' Up! punches.

Punches: Extra-Large Oval Punch #119859:  Snowman face and hat (cut in half); 1 3/4" Circle Punch #119850:  Snowman body; Small Oval Punch #120908:  Snowman hands

  • The card base is Wisteria Wonder, the card layer is Marina Mist card stock. The hat and bow are Baja Breeze
  • The little snowflake on top of his hat is from the Northern Frost die #120901 with a little rhinestone added to the center.  The band on the hat is pretty much hand cut with lines drawn with the Wisteria Wonder Stampin' Write Marker
  • The carrot nose is cut from a scrap.
  • You won't be able to guess how I made the bowtie I bet!  It's the bottom half of the Butterfly Punch #119848 turned upside down!
  • The greeting is from Season of Joy #110384.
  • The snowflakes (from Serene Snowflakes #115438) in the background are stamped in White Craft Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.
  • The little whimsical lines are just drawn freehand on some of the pieces with a black Sharpie pen.

All so easy, and what a happy little card!

If you need any of these stamping supplies, I would be pleased if you would order them from my Stampin' Up! Online Store

A Petal Cone Die Snowman

Petal Cone Die Snowman

On someone's blog, I saw a Santa made out of the Petal Cone Die #121810, and it made me think that I could make a snowman the same way!

  • Just glue your two Petal Cone pieces together, close up the bottom and put the point at the top.
  • Punch out a large  1 3/4" Circle for the face, sponge a little Bashful Blue around the edges and make his face.
  • For the hat, just punch or cut a square, then use the Word Window Punch for the brim and put a little strip of red.
  • I fancied up his little lump of coal buttons with the Itty Bitty Shapes flower shape.
  • The arms are the Snowflake Punch, trimmed.  I folded the ends and glued onto the sides of the snowman.

Really, you don't need directions!  Just use your "snowman imagination" and go for it! Put some candies inside and make one as a Christmas party favor for everybody for your holiday table!

If you need more punches or other stamping supplies to make this Petal Cone Die Snowman, I would be happy to have you order them HERE!  Thanks!

A Week of Halloween–Halloween Fancy Favor Bag

Halloween Fancy Favor Bag

The Bigz Fancy Favor Die for the Big Shot is so useful for all sorts of projects.  Here I have a made a cute little Halloween Fancy Favor Bag (or box). Just fill it with some crinkled paper and a Halloween treat and decorate the outside how you like.

Supplies I used:

Stamps:  Wicked Cool, Sooky Bingo Bits

Ink:  Stazon Black, Wisteria Wonder, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green

Paper:  Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper

Accessories:  Fancy Favor Die, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Sponge, Paper Snips, Paper Piercer

***********

I crumbled and sponged the First Edition DSP with several colors of ink. For the pumpkin I punched the 1 3/4" circle and the placed the punched oval over the center.  For the pumpkin vines, I cut slivers of card stock and curled around my paper piercer.  Just stamp and cut out the witch's feet!

Just have fun with it!  For stamping supplies, order here.

A Week of Halloween–Petite Pocket Halloween Treat

The Petite Pocket Bigz Die is a new one this year, and now that I have finally played with it, I think I am loving it!  You can make cute little gift card holders, cards, candy holders, treats for any occasion with it!  Here is a Petite Pocket Halloween Treat that I just made.

Petite Pocket Halloween Treat

I started by die-cutting a piece of Pick Your Poison Designer Series Paper #124001.  It's about 10 inches long.

Petite Pocket Pick Your Poison

Folded up and decorated, with a little pull-out card inside, this is what it looks like.

Petite Pocket Halloween Treat card

Do you know how I made the ghosts?  I punched a heart and then cut it in half!  The features are just colored in with a black marker. The Scallop Oval Punch #119856 is placed and glued so that it holds the flap shut behind it.  Only put glue at the bottom of the oval.  The letters are die cut with the Naturally Serif Decorative Strip Die #113453.

The little pull-out card you can either cut with the die cut and trim down a hair or just cut something narrow that will fit inside.  It is stamped with images from Spooky Bingo Bits and the greeting from Grateful Greetings.  For a little tab to pull out, I punched a 1" circle, folded in half and stapled on with a little bit of ribbon.

Try this Petite Pocket Die!  It really holds lots of possibilities!

Make a Fall Paper Pumpkin Ornament!

Paper Pumpkin Ornament

Do you want to make an easy paper pumpkin for a fall decoration? You can easily make a pumpkin ornament to hang on your fall or Halloween tree perhaps or anywhere.

This pumpkin is about four inches in diameter and is made with a coaster! Just take a coaster you might get at a restaurant or buy at a craft store and cover with paper.  I cut a square of Pumpkin Pie card stock and adhered the paper to the coaster using a Stampin' Up! Anywhere Glue Stick (I put the glue on both the paper and the coaster). Then I just cut off the excess card stock with my Paper Snips….not that you can't use any scissors, but the Stampin' Up! Paper Snips are really the best for certain cutting jobs.  If you need to smooth the edge, just use a Designer Sanding Block.  Before adhering paper to the back of the coaster, I used a Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker on the side of the brush end to color the side of the coaster….not absolutely necessary, but it covers the color of the coaster. Then, if you want, cover the back side of the coaster.

I decided to add extra layers to make my pumpkin more lifelike.  If you make a small one, you can punch oval shapes for this part, but of course this coaster is too large.  So I just folded a piece of paper in half and drew freehand the smaller pumpkin layers….much like you would draw half a heart on a folded piece of paper to make valentines that were equal on both sides.  I didn't worry about the top and bottom….they extended past the coaster, but I just cut those off later with my Paper Snips.  Before adhering, I sponged the edges with some Cajun Craze ink.

For the top of the pumpkin, I used the Round Tab Punch to punch a piece of Lucky Limeade card stock and folded in half.  You can just run your string or ribbon underneath the folded tab or you can punch a hole with a Crop-A-Dile.  I even inserted an old retired green eyelet.

For the pumpkin vines, I used my Big Shot and the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlit Die.  You could add leaves if you wanted or omit the vines.

This is an easy project to add to your fall decor.  It's time to be decorating for fall and then decorating for Halloween!  Start making some new decorations right now to add a little seasonal pizzazz to your home! I think I'll go make another one!

For paper and supplies, you can conveniently order from Stampin' Up! online HERE.
