Maybe you would like to see a card that isn’t Halloween, fall, or Christmas! This Velvet Meadow Thinking of You Card is very simple to make because of the paper’s pattern. I hadn’t used this Velvet Meadow Specialty Designer Series Paper in awhile, but when I came across it among my designer papers, I couldn’t resist the soft flocking! That gives the paper such a special touch! And you will want to touch it!
This card is made with the sheet of paper that can be cut into six sections because the floral pattern is at the top and the bottom of the paper. Therefore, you can cut the paper into 4″ strips and then cut from each end at 5 1/4″ length, omitting the extra “plain” section in the middle. You can use those six panels for six different cards!
I used Peaceful Pine cardstock for this card and made it a top fold just for fun. A side fold works fine too. The greeting is stamped in Peaceful Pine ink on Basic White cardstock. The greeting is in the Scalloped Blooms Stamp Set. It fits perfectly cut out with one of the Nested Essentials Dies. For the Peaaceful Pine layer underneath, I also used a larger Nested Essentials Die, but I trimmed it down just inside the pierced “stitching” around the edge. I didn’t want to take up any more space on the card.
For a little embellishment, I added a pink bow with the 1/8″ wide ribbon. I forget exactly which ribbon it is, but you can use what you have or some twine. There are also a few white Moody Palette Dots on the card front. These dots are great for mailing because they are almost flat. This paper is still available in the Stampin’ Up! Online Store so grab it while you can.
Here is another card I made by cutting out the flowers from the paper and popping them up over “the other side” of one of the papers.
