I was busy making some other cards with this paper and ended up with some scraps. They all looked so pretty together in a little pile that I decided to make something with them, and that’s how this Beautiful Bokeh Just Because Paper Scraps Card was designed! It’s an easy card to make, of course. When you make a card like this take some time to just play around with the pieces until you feel like you have everything in place how you like it. You can even take a picture with your phone so you can look back at how you laid everything out if you need to move things around to glue them down.
This card begins with just a Basic White cardstock card base. For the layer, I used a piece of the Beautiful Bokeh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper cut at 5″ x 3 3/4″. Then I cut some of the scraps from all different colors of the Beautiful Bokeh paper into strips that are 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ and arranged them at slightly different angles. They are all glued down flat, but you could pop some up on Dimensionals if you wanted to.
The Bokeh Effect is soft, blurry circles in the background, often seen in photography. However, it was a “thing” we all were making a few years ago using an acetate stencil to give the impression of all these soft-colored circles on a background paper. However, now we can just buy the paper with the same effect! Here is another card I made using the Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper.
The greeting is stamped in Berry Burst ink on a strip of Basic White cardstock (another scrap). It is in the Blooming Phrases Stamp Set. I did pop up the strip with Stampin’ Dimensionals. And of course I added some colorful sequins for a little sparkle! Use whatever you have.
I don’t necessarily advocate saving every single piece of paper that is leftover from a project, but when you do have a little collection of scraps and feel inspired, see what beautiful project you can create with the scraps!
