Since I was playing with the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Pack (Occasions Mini #117161) I decided to make some cards with it.  This is not just a package of designer paper, it is a big stack of coordinating paper, 2 each of 24 double-sided designs 12×12.  The bird is made with the fun new Extra-Large Two-Step Bird Punch (#117191), also in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The "thank you" is from "Thank You Kindly" (#111700) in the Idea Book & Catalog.

Stampin’ Up!’s New Color Renovation!

WOW!  Stampin' Up! really knows how to knock our socks off!  They have surprised us with a "Color Renovation" which is a new updated color palette comprised of 25 current colors, 10 returning In Colors, plus 5 new Core Colors!!!!  AND there will be 5 more new In Colors in July!  They have put two years of study and research into this using focus groups of demonstrators, Stampin' Up! artists, other color professionals, and sales data. Consideration and concern for every demonstrator and customer is behind all the decisions Stampin' Up! makes so you can be assured that a lot of thought and research went into this color change.  This Color Renovation will take effect July 1st with the new Idea book & Catalog.  Stampin' Up! Demonstrators will be able to get our hands on the new colors in June with preorders, so there's a tip……if you want to get in on this early, you should become a Demonstrator right now!!  It only takes minutes, so contact me if you are interested!

My Digital Studio Azalea Page

My Digital Studio Azalea Page

Just playing around with My Digital Studio and my azalea pictures from the other day! This is the azalea bush in our front yard which has burst into bloom this week!  For the background I selected a photo of the azaleas but changed the opacity down to 40.  Then I added photo boxes and chose the photos to go in them, added a mat and a drop shadow to each.  For the mat color, I decided to use the "Color Picker" with which you can select a color from your photo to use as your mat. I did that for the first photo but then wondered how I would get the exact same color for the other mats.  I was able to do that by putting that color in my Favorites and then choose that color for the other photos! The words came from the Designer Kit "Sunny Day".  And then I added some digital Garden Green Grosgrain Ribbon and Knots.  To make this a hybrid scrapbook page I could leave off the ribbon and knots, print out the page and then attach my own real ribbon!  

You can do so much with this My Digital Studio software!Every time I use it is a new adventure to see what I will find!  SHOP NOW and see whether you would like the My Digital Studio software or just the downloads if you already have a digital program.  Just think how easy it would be to scrapbook your Easter pictures if you had My Digital Studio!

 

 

Easter Baskets Galore!

Here are some easy little Easter baskets that you can make any size you want, just start with a square.  Then I used various "punch art" I'd seen on the internet to decorate the baskets.

To make it easy, I used sheets of patterned paper from various Stampin' Up! paper packs I had in my stash.  They came 6×6 so all I had to do was score, cut and assemble.  See THIS POST for how I made these baskets.  Click on the photos to enlarge them.  

These baskets really are fun to make and easy!  Instead of the punch art just decorate your basket with ribbon or buttons or flowers or a sentiment. Just start and you will see how addicting they are!  Let me know if you have a question!

My Digital Studio Easter Card

Make this easy Easter card with My Digital Studio!
 

I just made this Easter card using My Digital Studio (#118108) I started with a designer template included in the papercrafting software and deleted the "thank you" and other embellishments on the top half of the card.  I kept the hearts you see, the ribbon and the bottom Designer Series Paper.  I changed the top half to Pink Passion and used the Holiday Blitz Stamp Set included in the software for the bunny. I put a layer of Whisper White behind the bunny and a layer of Tempting Turquoise behind that.  You can make a project like this in a matter of minutes…..the only extra time it takes is usually you find yourself playing around with all the elements in the software more than you anticipated! Today I even discovered a Search feature so I could easily find the "Easter Wishes" sentiment without looking through all the stamp sets!

The International Space Station Over Houston

The other night we were able to see the International Space Station flying over Houston in the night sky.  It's not the first time we have seen it, but it is exciting every time!  I grew up with the space program so I've always been interested in it even though I'm not a scientist or engineer!  While this rocket from the stamp set "Pun Fun" (#115054) does not look like the International Space Station, I was inspired to make this card just for fun after seeing the Space Station go over.

Cute Little Stampin’ Up! Chocolate Bunnies

Today I was looking online and saw where someone had made templates of Easter bunny shapes, and you could use that template to draw and cut out bunnies that would stand up as a card.  However, Stampin' Up! already has a really cute stamp in the Occasions Mini, sold as a single stamp, called "Chocolate Bunny" (#116980)!  It's been very popular and fun to make things with.  So I decided I could do nearly the same thing by just stamping the bunny on a piece of card stock, putting his "rear" on the fold, and cutting out the shape!

I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig (#101049) to get the right placement on the fold.

Cut out around the shape of the bunny leaving the fold intact.  This is what the little bunny card looks like opened.  I love using my Paper Snips (#103579) for cutting like this.  Believe me, they are a great investment!

Next I put a little bling on my Chocolate Bunny with the self-adhesive rhinestones in the Eggscellent Eggs Kit from the Occasions Mini and a little "love" tag from the Tiny Tags stamp set (#118592 clear mount), tied on with some Linen Thread (#104199).  The tiny tag is punched out with the new Medium Jewelry Tag Punch (#117190).  Unfortunately, the Eggscellent Eggs Kit is sold out and no longer available!  Next time you see a seasonable item you really like, be sure to purchase it right away!

Now if my other craft supplies were better organized, I would find a little pom pom to put on the bunny for his cottontail.  Maybe later!
