Valentine Hearts Box

I used the Bitty Box & Envelope Die #115967 to cut out this box with my Big Shot and punched the heart with my Full Heart Punch #119883, and then it sat undecorated on my table for several days.  Then I got the idea to punch out a bunch of little colored hearts with my Heart to Heart Punch #119881 to decorate the box!

Valentine Hearts Box

It was fun to play around with all the hearts and colors until I had a pleasing layout.  I also needed a small greeting, so I stamped "Happy Valentine's Day" from Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370.  Talk about a useful stamp set with its variety of sentiments!  I just cut the words out and played them a little off-kelter on the box and there you have it! Behind the lid I adhered a small piece of window sheet to close the heart opening. Now it is ready for candy or small notes or whatever treat I choose for Valentine's Day!

(To punch the large heart in the center of the lid you do have to fold up the box flap in the front or the punch won't slide all the way in.  But you are able to just clear that flap in order to punch the heart, so it works!)

If you need these heart punches for Valentines, just click HERE to order. Be sure you are on my demonstrator business website for best pricing.

Watercolor Wonder Crayons

I've owned the Stampin' Up! Watercolor Wonder Crayons since they first came out.  At that time, they sold all the colors in one long tin, which I liked because I could just open the lid and have access to all the colors at one time.  Later Stampin' Up! changed to smaller tins within the color families.  Now with the new colors, we've needed new Watercolor Wonder Crayons to fill in the gaps, but there was a delay in getting them.  Finally now I have my new colors in Watercolor Wonder Crayons (WWC)!  They came with the four tins so I had to make a decision….keep them in my one big tin or be up-to-date (and more portable) in the smaller tins.  Well, I opted to try the new smaller tins!  I found a file a demonstrator on my favorite online group for demonstrators, SUDSOL, had prepared to insert into the lid of the tins to identify the colors.  I scribbled a little bit of color beside each color name and stuck the chart inside the lid of each tin.  Now my WWC are ready to go!  I love coloring with them!

More Stampin’ Up! Valentines on Display!

And here are a few more Valentine ideas for cards that I photographed at the Stampin' Up! Convention last summer in Salt Lake City. Stampin' Up! puts up row upon row of display boards of all kinds of stamping projects, and it is always a pretty popular area as you can imagine!  It's best to find an off-time to photograph all these displays!

Valentines on Display at the Stampin’ Up! Convention 2010

While I am still waiting to get my furniture all moved back now that the Christmas tree is down so that I can stamp a little easier, I thought I would share some photos from the Stampin' Up! Convention displays last July.  I've told you before that every single thing about a Stampin' Up! Convention is fun, but if I were only allowed to look at the display boards there, even if I never got to stamp a thing, I would be in heaven!  I love all the ideas!!  Here are some of the ideas for Valentine's Day cards and scrapbook pages and projects that I'm sure you will enjoy!

Seems like only yesterday that we were all so excited with the fabulous new products in this year's Holiday Mini!  Stampin' Up! introduced a new Designer Fabric line that coordinated with other products…Deck the Halls and Candy Cane Christmas.  We had new Glass Glitter for that vintage look along with Waffle Paper both for Halloween and Christmas…and occasions beyond!  Seam binding as ribbon.  Mini Lunch Sacks you had to feel to believe the good quality.  Gorgeous autumn stamp set in "Day of Gratitude" (although perfectly versatile for any other occasion as well) and matching Specialty Designer Series Paper Autumn Spice!  The cute Bingo Card and Jolly Bingo Bits. New buttons, new Big Shot dies, embossing folders, Glimmer Brads, the Design-a-House, new punches!  I still am excited to pick up my Holiday Mini and hate to see it go…..but it is! Today, Jan. 3, 2011 is the LAST DAY!!!  Dig out your copy and look through it a few more times and make sure you have what you want.  A few items will carry over, but certainly not everything, so don't be filled with regret tomorrow that you didn't place your order TODAY!  Let me know if you have any questions!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My Digital Studio New Year Card

I've spent some of my holiday "off" time (does that exist?!) playing with My Digital Studio and pretty easily made this for New Year's.  It actually is a post card template so is a little wider than usual.  I added the Rhinestones and love them digitally almost as much as the real ones!

Here's to a happy, healthy and full-of-stamping New Year!!

Catching Up with Stampin’ Up!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas as we did with our children home.  No white Christmas here in Houston, although we did get a rainstorm and colder weather on Christmas Eve.  Then the weather warmed up a bit and now today is a rainy, stormy day.  Good day to stay in and maybe bake some Christmas cookies that I didn't have time for earlier!  And maybe to get back in the swing of things and start posting again on my blog!

Let's see what is going on in the Stampin' Up! world………

  • Last day to order from the fabulous Holiday Mini Catalog is January 3rd!  Check it over again and make sure you have everything you want before it is gone!  You can place an order HERE online yourself at my Online Store or you can contact me with your order and I'll place it for you.
  • If you are ready to move on to Valentine's Day, get a jump start with the "Filled with Love" Promotion.  Click on that link to read all about it!  You can shop for it HERE.
  • The Occasions Mini Catalog will have all new things for spring!  It begins January 4th.  Perhaps you have received your copy in the mail over the holidays.  Make sure you pull it out of your Christmas cards and holiday mail and sit down and savor it!
  • Sale-A-Bration is coming!!  Stampin' Up!'s biggest promotion begins January 25, 2011.  More information coming soon!  Contact me if you want to book a fun workshop with your friends where everyone can get a free Sale-A-Bration product with a $50 purchase!

Christmas Gift Wrapping

In case you need a nice presentation for a gift, here's an old idea, back from when I first became a demo.  Just decorate (or not) your gift bag that has handles.  Take a sheet of card stock and cut a slit in the middle, just wide enough to fit over those gift bag handles.  Fold in half, decorate, and slip over the handles.  Voila!  Nice gift bag!  Easy to open, easy to close, easy to hide the gift inside.

Christmas Gift Bag

I think this bag has been around a few years, but it still looks nice.  The bag was wheeled, making it real easy to decorate!

Santa Claus Bread!

This post has nothing to do with stamping, but look what I found at Whole Foods in Sugar Land today!

Santa Bread from Whole Foods

It's still wrapped in cellophane, so not the best picture, but thought I would share!  It is bread shaped into a Santa Claus head!  The checker said she heard it was sweet bread, so we shall see.  It was so cute and different that I had to buy it!

Merry Christmas!!

Easy Snowman Gift Tag

VintageSnowmanTag

Here's an easy Christmas tag I made for several gifts the other day.  To get away from coloring the snowman from Jolly Old Saint Nick, I just stamped him in the same color as the paper, Marina Mist.  Then a punched Snowflake with a little Rhinestone bling added a little extra!  Write the "to" and "from" in the lower right corner.  I took the photo before I punched a hole and tied on some ribbon, but you get the idea.  You could also use this for a card!

Have fun wrapping!!
