Stampin’ Up! Convention Highlights

Even though the Stampin' Up! Convention ended on Saturday afternoon, it was still a fun trip home yesterday (except for my suitcase being 6 lbs over the weight limit and having to put my new SU catalog binder, a stamp set and shoes in my carryon and still check a second bag…my laptop bag (from last year's convention!)…to get the weight down….and except for having to rush through the Denver airport even in the same concourse across a couple of "people-movers" to get to my next gate with only a thirty minute layover…while carrying the heavy carryon bag and purse!…and no time for lunch) …because I still was meeting Stampin' Up! Demonstrators at the airport in Salt Lake and on the plane and looking at swaps the demo had sitting next to me.  Part of the fun of Convention is that Stampin' Up! Demonstrators are everywhere so it is easy to start chatting right away.  In fact, at the gate in Salt Lake City, a lady sat down next to me and I didn't see any signs of SU on her so assumed she was NOT a demo.  Then another demo came along and sat down and started talking about going through security with both of us, so I assumed she knew this lady next to me…but no, she could see MY SU paraphenalia and assumed this lady was with ME!  Finally, I realized this lady next to me was NOT with Stampin' Up! and didn't know what we were talking about!  We told her she should be one of us!  Guess we should have tried harder to recruit her!

Slowly reality settled in that the wonderful Stampin' Up! Convention and all its fun and all its perks had come to a close and I was returning to normal life again.  But, Stampin' Up! already had a highlight video which captures lots of the moments and experiences of Convention, almost up to the last minute (no video of Spencer Willis singing "The Candy Man" with his children right after Carrie Cudney's candy-themed demonstration!).  Just to hear the music brings it all back!

If you would like to be a part of all this excitement and fun, please consider joining us at Stampin' Up! as a Demonstrator!  During July only, you can purchase this $99 Starter Kit and be a demo in minutes, plus get a free project to make (it is gorgous!!).  Just click HERE to see what you get for $99.  It will be the start of a new business and the start of new friendships and fun!

Turning Back Into a Pumpkin!

The Stampin' Up! Convention is over so just a few more hours to bask in all of the excitement as I try to pack everything in my suitcase and carryon.  Of course I have my "valuables"…better than jewels…my Make & Takes (that I didn't make), my swaps, my new stamp sets, my purchases from Memento Mall, my free stamp set for attending five classes (why wouldn't you??), my pack of Holiday Minis (oh wait till you see it!!!), my new catalog in a Stampin' Up! binder with dividers for categories, my new bag…and maybe even a leftover cookie from the class last night!

I don't know where to start but I'll post a few photos that I just downloaded that I took today of the displays. ENJOY!!

Last Day of the Stampin’ Up! Convention

Last day of the Stampin' Up! Convention. How sad! But I'm sure it will be a fun day! I just downloaded the 700 photos I took yesterday! Get ready! Well, I don't have time to post them right now but over the next weeks! Have I already said three times that the displays are fantastic?! I haven't won anything yet….usually after a demonstration on stage they have "Prize Patrol" where they put up a wristband color and those people jump up and holler, dance and scream until an SU employee brings them their prize! The music plays and everyone is applauding…pure excitement and fun! Now if we just would all win! 🙂 Two classes this morning, lunch and then last General Session this afternoon. I think I have one last card to swap.

Trust me…..

For a GOOD TIME……….Join Stampin' Up!….and come to Convention!!! We got a great preview of the new Holiday Mini today….to die for…comes out Sept. 1….who can wait that long??….demonstrators don't have to….we get preview stuff Aug. 1. I don't even remember what we can divulge and what we can't. Classes this afternoon and another general session, with Shelli's daughter Sara doing a spectacular job demo-ing….and had her daughter come up on stage…who couldn't possibly get a Simply Sent Kit without "everyone" getting one…..so we all got one!! We love free stuff!! Another trip to Memento Mall and a quick dinner and back for Awards Night. Anybody want to earn a trip to….Fiji??!!! Become a demonstrator! Now I have to finish up some swaps for tomorrow and mount some stamps for Make & Takes tomorrow and maybe get some sleep! Haven't even downloaded photos yet. Sorry! Really….I don't know where else there are this many nice people all in one place!!

Check out my website HERE under the Join the Fun button and also the Promotions button where you can get the Starter Kit for only $99….AND in July you get that box you will see….I guarantee you, that photo does not do it justice! You should see it in person…when you make your own….sign up!!

At the Stampin’ Up! Convention!!!!!!!!!

I tried to post from my phone yesterday on my way but I guess it didn't work! I arrived here yesterday and went right over to the Convention Center. I love the bag this year (don't we say that every year?) and the displays are fabulous! Just as I thought…lots of paper flowers and a gardening theme. Last night was the Kick-Off party and it was fun. Lots going on, prizes, games and displays. As my downline Priscilla and I walked around, we saw Shelli and there wasn't yet a line a mile long….so we got pictures and she signed our name tags! Then we walked around and watched the demonstrators demonstrating…..just like cooking shows with the overhead mirror so you can from the back. Gotta eat breakfast and head over there! General Session starts today.

Pennant Christmas Trees

The new Pennant Parade stamp set and the Petite Pennants Builder Punch are both so versatile you've got to have them!  On this card I used the punch to make the trees plus our new Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper and card stock.  I could have stamped images from the Pennant Parade stamp set and punched them out, also.  The word Merry and the star are from the stamp set.

Christmas Tree Pennant Card

Here's the card I made (a little ink boo-boo!).  I hope to redo it a little and perhaps take it as a swap to the Stampin' Up! Convention…if I can just find enough time!

Pennants are IN so you better have some way to use them on your cards, scrapbook pages and projects!  Shop Online HERE.

Flower Fest 6×6 Card or Scrapbook Pages

Flower Fest 6x6 Card

Gotta love this Flower Fest stamp set!  And I suddenly went crazy for Poppy Parade, a year after that In Color came out!  Better late than never!

We made this 6"x6" card in a workshop this weekend.  When I do a workshop and don't know if I have scrapbookers attending, sometimes I like to make this 6×6 project….it can be used as is as a card, perhaps adding some photos to the front or inside…or it can be cut apart and you have two 6"x6" scrapbook pages!  If you work with larger scrapbook pages, you can always add this 6×6 piece to a larger piece of paper, adding more photo boxes or journaling or embellishments.  Very easy.  You could also frame this, if you didn't want it for a card or a scrapbook page.

Flower Fest 6x6 Card Inside

Here is the inside, just stamped with Poppy Parade ink, and a So Saffron Flower Fest flower cut and punched and sponged with Poppy Parade ink.  I forgot we actually have a punch for this flower…I made the ladies cut out the bottom flower by hand!  Oops!  They would have rather had a punch I'm sure.  But it is okay to cut with a scissors and not get worried about perfection!

Flower Fest Butterfly Card

Flower Fest Butterfly Card

I saw this little card in the Summer Mini Catalog on page 20 and decided to make it.  Mine is almost the same but not quite.  I must have made mine smaller than the one in the catalog because they have a larger piece of designer paper on the side; mine is just 3×3.  But it works!  I didn't emboss, just stamped, using markers to color in the three "Hello"s from the stamp set Happy Greetings, also in the Summer Mini.  The butterfly is stamped with the Flower Fest stamp set.  This stamp set first appeared in the Summer Mini but is also currently in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  I also took my Paper Piercing Tool (a must have!) to punch the little holes indicating the flight of the butterfly.  And then I just added a Bitty Button and piece of Baker's Twine for an accent!

Have you placed your order yet from the new Stampin' Up! Catalog??

You can do it online by clicking HERE.

Stamp and Help Ronald McDonald Charities

Every year Stampin' Up! designs a special stamp set to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  This year it is Turtle & Co., available in wood-mount or clear.  Stampin' Up! donates $3 for the sale of every set to RMHC.  You can have fun stamping and know that you are helping a worthy cause at the same time!

Something Exciting at the Stampin’ Up! Convention!

We don't, of course, really know what Stampin' Up! has up its sleeve for Convention next week, but they sent a hint today in part of an email!  They are going to have a new product showcase that will blow us away, apparently….again….perhaps like the candy shoppe theme from last year! I'm telling you, that display alone was probably worth the price of admission!!  Here are some photos from Convention last year to refresh your memory…and perhaps whet your appetite to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator so you can attend Convention next year! Remember, there is a special Starter Kit right now during July for only $99 to get you started in your business!

Enjoy!

Oh my gosh!!  Aren't those the cutest ideas????!  Can't wait to see what they've done THIS YEAR!!

You really should be a part of Stampin' Up!

New Stampin’ Up! Hostess Benefits: Summer Mini Hostess Sets

Stampin' Up! has a new Hostess Benefits program that will give hostesses more flexibility in their choices of rewards!  In the past, hostesses would choose a hostess level stamp set according to their workshop sales and get hostess dollars to spend on merchandise.  NOW hostesses will get more hostess dollars with the opportunity (but not requirement) to choose exclusive hostess stamp sets with their dollars and/or select other merchandise from the catalog.

In addition, with a $400 workshop, hostesses may choose to purchase any item out of the catalog for 50% off! (This will not count toward workshop sales and hostess dollars may not be applied.  The discount will be taken off the full catalog price.)

Because of this new program starting July 1st, the Hostess stamp sets in the Summer Mini Catalog have been modified to reflect this value.

Summer Mini Hostess Benefits Revised

Free Stamp Sets!!

One of the great things about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator are the many perks, one being earning free stamp sets for Sale-A-Bration sales and for recruiting.  Stampin' Up! even allows us now to wait to choose until the new Idea Book & Catalog comes out so we can choose one of the new stamp sets if we want…and especially not to choose one that will retire soon.  So I thought today I would finally make that tough decision of which stamp set to order for my SAB sales….and I chose Spooky Bingo Bits on page 25 of the new catalog.  I love Halloween and thought this would give me lots of cute Halloween images and words to use, not just for bingo cards!

How exciting is that to get to pick a FREE new stamp set from Stampin' Up!???  The only thing MORE exciting would be to click the ordering page and find out that I was entitled to TWO MORE FREE STAMP SETS for recruiting!  Holy cow!!  So for those two sets I finally chose Creative Elements and the new alphabet set Letter It.

If you love stamping and would like to earn free stamp sets and have all kinds of fun, why not consider the $99 Starter Kit Promotion going on right now?!  You'll be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in minutes if you sign up on my site HERE.

My Digital Studio….4th of July Page!

My Digital Studio makes it so easy to digitally scrapbook your recent photos! Here's my kind of crazy fireworks page from last night.  The fireworks photos aren't taken with great photographic skills at all, just good enough to get the idea of fireworks in the sky!  The consensus was that they weren't as good as past years at this location and the traffic getting out was way worse than usual…..but…it's all how about making memories with your friends and family!

Again I started with a template already in the program, took some elements out, added more photo boxes, added some star punches and a 4th of July greeting.  The more you work with the program, the easier it gets.  It's really fun to see what you come up with!

To check out the My Digital Studio software, just click HERE.  If you prefer, there is now a downloadable version available, too!
