My Digital Studio….4th of July Page!

My Digital Studio makes it so easy to digitally scrapbook your recent photos! Here's my kind of crazy fireworks page from last night.  The fireworks photos aren't taken with great photographic skills at all, just good enough to get the idea of fireworks in the sky!  The consensus was that they weren't as good as past years at this location and the traffic getting out was way worse than usual…..but…it's all how about making memories with your friends and family!

Again I started with a template already in the program, took some elements out, added more photo boxes, added some star punches and a 4th of July greeting.  The more you work with the program, the easier it gets.  It's really fun to see what you come up with!

To check out the My Digital Studio software, just click HERE.  If you prefer, there is now a downloadable version available, too!

Happy July 4th!!

What a fun and what an easy way to create using My Digital Studio!  I started with this card: (hardly appropriate for the 4th of July!)

Valentine MDS Card

and changed it into this:

July 4th MDS card

Simple enough to take any template already in the program and change as little or as much as you want to make your own project!  No muss, no fuss….just fun!

Hope you are having a wonderful 4th of July with your friends or family! Our usual fireworks display hasn't been cancelled (as many have) due to the drought since it is over a lake so we will be able to watch fireworks in person with our neighbors!

Happy 4th of July!

Memorial Day

Arlington

Memorial Day is a national holiday celebrated on the last Monday of May. It was originally a day to honor the dead of the Civil War by decorating their graves and was known as Decoration Day. In 1966 President Lyndon Johnson designated Waterloo, NY as the birthplace of Memorial Day because starting back in 1866 the town had made the day an annual event where businesses closed and soldiers' graves were decorated with flags and flowers.  Memorial Day is a day to honor all veterans who have given their lives in America's wars. At Arlington National Cemetary, a certain unit called The Old Guard place American flags one foot and centered, in front of the gravestones and columbarium niches of every service member. This tradition is called "Flags-In".

Each one of us can participate in a "National Moment of Remembrance" at 3:00 PM local time wherever you are to reflect on the true meaning of the day, a congressional resolution passed in 2000.  We might also think about our ancestry and family history as we perhaps gather with relatives for a family picnic or a Memorial Day parade. And be sure to fly your American flag, although it should be at half-staff until noon.

Stampin’ Up! Digital Scrapbooking: My Digital Studio Graduation Scrapbook Page

SchoolPage_2-001

You'll need a scrapbook page for that graduation photo so of course one easy way to make one is to use the Stampin' Up! program, My Digital Studio.  I began with a designer template for this page but changed the background paper color and added several graduation stamps….the cap, the sentiment, and the feet.  Imagine the photo going right above the graduation feet!  With My Digital Studio you can easily make an entire album or just a few pages with minimal thinking and designing….or you can start and work completely from scratch.  You could even use this idea as your design and then make it out of paper and stamps.

Digital Scrapbooking with My Digital Studio: Mother’s Day

My Digital Studio Wedding Heritage Page

Images copyright Stampin' Up! 2011

Mother's Day is here!  I noticed people on Facebook changing their profile photos to their mother's photo, and I guess that gave one of my friends the idea to post her mother's beautiful wedding portrait.  That gave me the idea to scan a photo of my mother in her wedding gown and make a scrapbook page.  One easy way to make a scrapbook page is to do it digitally.  Stampin' Up! has a fabulous digital program called My Digital Studio.  The nice part of a digital program is that you can change colors, sizes, embellishments, whatever with just the click of your mouse.  No wasted paper!  If I want, I can have this page printed or I could even now duplicate it with paper, ink and stamps.

Happy Mother's Day!

Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, Kiss Cam, George and Barbara Bush

What do the Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, the Kiss Cam, George and Barbara Bush all have in common??  If you live in Houston, Texas you probably know!

My husband got baseball tickets from work for last night's game at Minute Maid Park which was between the Houston Astros and the St. Louis Cardinals.  We love to go to the ballgame when we can, especially when the Cards are here since we both grew up in St. Louis and will always be Cardinal fans in our hearts (although after 28 years here I guess we are legitimate Astros fans as well!)  Attendance at the game was pretty low and we didn't have many people around us, except for the other couple who got the other pair of tickets from work.  So I KNEW this was going to happen!  I just knew it. When they did the "Kiss Cam" between innings, toward the end, if not the end of it, I was stunned to see my husband up on the big new screen, then me and a glimpse of the lady next to us in orange and the big heart!  I think they were trying to get all four of us in the shot, I'm not sure, but we kissed just in case!

To add to the fun of the night, President and Mrs. Bush (George and Barbara) were in attendance in their seats behind homeplate.  Barbara had her scorecard and kept score during the game while chatting with her husband!  They have lived in Houston since they left the White House and frequently attend Astros games!  Another time when we were at a game, they put the Kiss Cam camera on them!  It was very cute!

Here's an easy card to make in My Digital Studio with a bit of a baseball game feel!

Baseball-001

Oh, and the game got very exciting, the Astros even loaded the bases after the Cardinals had taken the lead and we got some runs but no grand slam homer….if an Astro had hit a grand slam that inning a lucky family would have won $25,000 from Sonic!!  I bet they were on the edge of their seats! The game was tied in the ninth, but finally the Astros prevailed with a win!  Just goes to show, always still until the end of a baseball game!!
