Celebrate Sunflowers Thanks a Bunch Card

Celebrate Sunflowers Thanks a Bunch Card

I think a lot of us are going to miss making our sunflower cards after this stamp set retires so I thought I would make this Celebrate Sunflowers Thanks a Bunch Card. One house in our neighborhood had sunflowers growing tall in their backyard and peeking over the wooden privacy fence in the summertime. They were so pretty! I hope they come back this year.

When this Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set came out there were all kinds of examples of colors you could use to color in the stamped sunflower. The die was a little difficult to line up, but certainly nice to have to cut out all the edges of this flower! The Sunflower Dies are discounted during the Last Chance Sale and the Stamp Set is regular price.

I stamped this sunflower in Memento Ink and then colored it with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. You can choose whatever colors you like. I used the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Blends to color the petals with a little Pumpkin Pie thrown in! The center is Soft Suede, both Light and Dark. The leaves are stamped and colored with a little bit of Daffodil Delight (someone who painted told me one time to always have a little yellow in with green), then colored with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green. You could use Old Olive or any green colors you like for leaves.

To make the card, I used a card base of Night of Navy cardstock and then chose the dark blue pattern in the Regency Park 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper for the front layer. The sunflower is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and the three leaves are just adhered flat to the card.

The greeting is stamped in Night of Navy ink on a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock, then cut out with one of the retiring Stitched Rectangles Dies. These dies are discounted on the Last Chance List. I wish they were staying around.

For some glitz, I added three gold sequins in the Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins. To see another card I made when this Sunflower Bundle first came out in 2020, click HERE to see my post.

I think the dark blue and bright yellow on this card really make it stand out! If you like sunflowers, don’t miss out on this stamp set and the dies as well!
