Scenic Season Card

This is a beautiful stamp set, Scenic Season #115354, from the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog, page 36, that allows you to make an easy and elegant Christmas card.  Just stamp the trees and a greeting, add a little Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and maybe a snowflake from the die cut Northern Frost #120901 in the corner.  Layer on whatever cardstock colors you select.  I used Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler.

November 2nd – Election Day!

Just a quick little 3" x 3" card in honor of Election Day today. Stampin' Up! makes it so easy to make a cute little card for any occasion.  You can express yourself with just colors or punches and generic stamps sometimes….you don't always have to have exactly the right occasion stamp.

Vote on Election Day!

Here I used Whisper White, Real Red, and Marina Mist card stock, plus the Decorative Label Punch #120907 and the Sizzix Naturally Serif Alphabet #113453 die cut with the Big Shot #113439.  For a little pizzazz, I put down a strip of Sticky Strip #104294 and sprinkled with Chunky Essentials Glitter #108797

Daffodil Delight Box #2

Happy New Stampin' Up! Year!  Yes, today is the day for the new 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog!!  Out with the old and in with the new! Right this minute Stampin' Up! is changing everything over online to the new catalog, so if you wait until this afternoon ( 1 pm Central time) you will be able to shop online and view all the new catalogs.

Here is a project I made with the new products!  I used the Big Shot (#113439) to die cut the Box #2 (#114518) out of the new card stock Daffodil Delight (#119683) and then decorated it with the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper (#117167).  I used the same sheet, both sides, for the little band of paper around the middle and from the other side I cut out several flowers and leaves with my Paper Snips (#103579) (which make such cutting easy!).  You MUST put this Greenhouse Gala DSP on your first order from the new catalog because it is beautiful!  It will put you in a good mood just to look at it!  For a finishing touch, I added a little of the new 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (#119254).  When I first saw this ribbon I wasn't sure I liked it because it is so very narrow, but when I used it today I just loved it!

Daffodil Delight #2 Box

Such a fun little project that just brightens up your day to make it!  Think what it would do for someone if you put a little treat inside and gave it away!

Check back later when Stampin' Up! is up and running with new, new, new products!!!!

Beautiful Vintage Wallpaper Card

I love this new Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder that we were able to preorder in June and you will be able to order in July in the new Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.

First I used the Bigz Clear Scallop Square Die #115950 to cut the card shape.  It would cut the scallop edge on all four sides, but since I wanted it for a folding card I had to lay the folded card stock just below the top scallop on the die so it would not cut the fold.

Next I ran the front of the card through the Big Shot #113439 using the new Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder #120175.  It's beautiful on the Baja Breeze card stock, one of the "old" In Colors being brought back as one of the core colors in the Subtles collection.

Here is the finished card, using some 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon and a new stamp set Perfect Punches, as well as the Scallop Oval Punch #114889 and the Wide Oval Punch #112082.

Summer Tropical Fancy Favor Bag

Today is the first day of summer, although it has seemed quite hot for awhile now in Houston.  Who would have thought we didn't have the first day of summer yet??!  So in honor of the first day of summer, I made this quick and easy Fancy Favor Bag.

Tropical Favor Bag

Love, love, love this Island Oasis Designer Series Paper #117173 from Stampin' Up!  It really makes you think of summer and the tropics!  I used the Bigz XL Stampin' Up! Fancy Favor Die #115965 to make the bag and put on some tropical flowers made with the Island Floral Die #118871, also in the Summer Mini Catalog.  These would be so fun and easy to make for a party favor this summer or little gift bag!

Don't forget to check the Last Chance items you want from the outgoing Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog, good only until June 30th!

Flip Album for a Graduation Gift

I have just LOVED these flip albums ever since I saw my first one!  I've made several for gifts and this one was for a graduation gift.  I left it rather generic so she could use it any way she wanted to, whether for graduation pictures or college or family or friends or anything.  The first one I ever made I thought was incredibly complicated, but they really are pretty simple and this one went together easily.  I won't go into detail on how I made it because there are a lot of directions out there, but if you have questions, leave a comment or email me.  I did use retired Designer Series Paper, Bella Birds but I think everything else is current…..at least for June!!

When you make one of these albums, you can hardly stop yourself from flipping all the pages back and forth!  The Big Shot and our Stampin' Up! punches really help to make interesting elements in the album.

Mother’s Day Stair Step Card

This was my first attempt at a "stair step" card, and it was very easy to make.  (If I could find the measurements I used I would post them! Maybe later!)  All you really do is fold your card stock in a series of accordion folds.  If you want the side panel like I have on this card, you cut a slit to separate it from the rest of the folds.  Then you just add whatever fanciness you want to each stair step!  On this card I used the Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper #113976 and the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die #118138 to make the butterflies.

Another Build-a-Bear Birthday Paint Can!

Here is the other Build-A-Bear can I decorated for someone.  These are so fun to make.  I think it makes a great gift container for whatever you want to put in it….and then the recipient can still use it afterwards!  I got lots of use out of my Big Shot with these Paint Can projects!

I used some retired Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper and ribbons on this project, but I was looking for paper I thought the recipient would enjoy.

Once you start on a project like this, you'll find that it is so much fun just to play with it and your creativity will come!

BUILD-A-BEAR Paint Can

The other day I showed you some Build-A-Bear gals I had made.  Well, they were going on the sides of gallon paint cans that I decorated as a gift container.  It is so much fun to use the Big Shot (#113439) and an assortment of dies to do projects like this!  Be sure to check pages 194-202 in the current Stampin' UP! Idea Book & Catalog for information on all the Big Shot products as well as in the mini catalogs.

Some of the Designer Series Paper is Tea Party from the current catalog and some may be retired.  The ribbons are assorted ones I had on hand.

It is easy to do these paint cans.  I used Stampin' Up! Glue Sticks on both the can and paper to adhere.  The rest of the decorations were adhered with whatever was appropriate, either Tombow Multi, Mini Glue Dots or Stampin' Dimensionals.  You do need two sheets of paper, preferably Designer Series Paper since it is thinner than card stock.  You can make your own pattern by using copy paper first, just fitting around and really indenting where the handle things are on the paper.  Then use a hole punch of the appropriate size to punch where you see the "indentation" in the paper.  Cut a slit to slip over the handle.  Easier than it sounds.

This really is a fun project, once you get the paper on the can VERY SIMPLE to decorate to any theme, and plenty of room for a gift inside.  Try it!!  Let me know if you have questions!

Recipe Album 6×6

These are some more pages I put together for a recipe album using a Stampin' Up! Linen Album (#104509).  I used various stamp sets, the Big Shot, Designer Series papers, ribbon, punches, sometimes made my own designer paper!  Some of the pages have pockets into which recipes can be inserted or they can just be pasted on the page. Since I don't know exactly how the recipient will use the album, I wanted to make it versatile.

More Big Shot Fabric Flower Fold Die Pins

Granted, the fabric was still laying out and I still had a lot of precut flowers handy, but I made these two flowers yesterday in practically no time while I was waiting for dinner to finish cooking.  Recently, I went to a resale shop and bought a pair of jeans for only $3 so I would have some denim material to add to the flowers.  You could purchase all of your fabric this way, just purchase clothing at a resale or thrift shop….and you might get some nice buttons to use out of the deal as well!  I think the different textured fabrics make the most interesting pins.  All you need is a Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439) and the Flower Folds Die (115970), some glue or needle and thread, and a button or one of our Stampin' Up! Corduroy Buttons.

Paper Flower

These paper flowers of all types seem to be the hottest thing right now so I wanted to try one!  This one is very easy…..just punch as many layers as you want with the Scallop Circle Punch (#109043) and cut down a little bit between each scallop.  Pile them all up and punch a hole in the center for either a small brad or a larger one.  I used my Crop-A-Dile (#108362) so I could easily insert a Rhinestone Brad (#109111) in the center and of course the Crop-A-Dile just punches through layers like butter!  Once you have your flower assembled, just "smoosh" it up!  I tried to gather up each layer and then smooshed it up around the center.  Just play with it until you have the look you like!

Paper Flower on Bitty Box

To use my flower on a project, I used the Big Shot Stampin' Up! die cut to make the Bitty Box (#115967).  This was a die I didn't buy at first until….of course…I saw so many cute projects made with it!  Did you realize the die also cuts a little envelope should you want to put little notecards inside this box?!  So cute!

And to make the top layer with Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper, I played with the the new Scallop Trim Border Punch (#118402) and Scallop Trim Corner Punch (#118870) to get the little scallop border all the way around.  If you have any questions about using these punches, please let me know!  Remember, you can get the Scallop Trim Border Punch for free with a $50 Sale-A-Bration order until the end of March!

St. Patrick’s Day Basket

I found this glittery basket in the Dollar Spot at the store….there were multiple colors for Easter…I just happened to pick green…..got home and realized I could do something for St. Patrick's Day first instead of Easter!  I've loved seeing the shamrocks made with our Full Heart Punch (#113693) and also the Stampin' Up! Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits Die (#117332) in the Occasions Mini.  I wanted to use the new Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder (#117335) to emboss my card stock before punching out the hearts, but since I could not find it (!) I used the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds I Texturz Plate (#114512) instead, just to add a little interest to the paper.  Of course the little button in the center of the shamrock is from our collection of Playground Designer Buttons (#116313). In the photo is a shamrock wired garland, not part of the basket.  Very quick and easy project!!

Olympic Figure Skating 2010 Build-A-Bear

I'm not sure that they showed the Build-a-Bear Olympics Figure Skating competition last night on TV, but this bear surely was the winner!  I've had this idea in my head since the Olympics started, and once I finally made my Build-A-Bear with my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine and Stampin' Up! Bigz Dies I was thrilled with how she turned out!  The "skating outfit" is just the Build-A-Bear skirt and top, with a little "altering" on the neckline and sleeves…and lots of bling added with Tombow Multi glue and Stampin' Up! Chunky Essentials Glitter!  To make the  ice skates, I just traced the bear's foot onto Whisper White and cut it at the height I wanted.  For the skating blades I traced the bottom of the shoe and just added the little attachments, all cut out of Brushed Silver card stock.  I hope you've been enjoying the  2010 Olympic Games!
