Wonderful Snowflakes Winter Storm 2026

Wonderful Snowflakes Winter Storm 2026

It just so happened that I had this retired package of snowflakes sitting out with some other retired papers and with the tremendous Winter Storm of January 2026 going on right now across half of the country, I thought I should use some of these snowflakes. These are the Wonderful Snowflakes, diecut iridescent foil white snowflakes, that apparently came out in the Holiday Mini Catalog of 2021! I had no idea it was that long ago! With the stormy, snowy, icy, cold winter storm, I thought I would make a card for those of us suffering through this very wintery weather….especially here in Houston, TX where we don’t have this kind of weather very often. And if we do have it, it usually doesn’t last very long. Houston mostly escaped the worst weather we could have had, freezing rain and ice everywhere. While the highway ramps and overpasses were icy and various spots slick and some traffic accidents, it wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been. Not that I was out and about! We just stayed in all day yesterday!

This card is plenty simple! If you don’t have these specific snowflakes, maybe you have snowflake dies or snowflake stamps. I used Cloud Cover cardstock for the card base and that’s all. I didn’t add a top layer to the base. I thought the base should be some kind of blue for the sky or the dreary days of winter, and once I spotted my package of Cloud Cover, I knew that was it!. I happened to only have these three snowflakes left. One side has the iridescent, shiny look, but you could turn them over for matte white.

Here’s how I glued them down using the Multipupose Liquid Glue. I got the idea from Patty Bennett. Use a silicone brush, like you would use for butter or barbecue sauce. Cut the bristles shorter. Then have your Silicone Craft Sheet handy or something similar. Make a little puddle of the glue on the silicone sheet, then dab the brush straight up and down into it. Place the snowflake or delicate item you want to glue face down on the silicone sheet (in a clean spot) and dab the back lightly with the silicone brush. You only want a little bit of glue on the brush so it doesn’t ooze onto the front of the image. If you don’t want to put glue on the snowflake like this, just put the most minute drops of glue possible on the back of the snowflake.

Wonderful Snowflakes Glue Technique

This small diecut circle under the greeting was already in my package of paper, so I used it! It’s from the Spotlight on Nature Dies. The greeting is stamped in Memento Black ink on a Basic White narrow scrap with both ends cut in the banner shape. The greeting is in the Banner Sayings Stamp Set. The circle is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling, I added quite a few Pearls of Beauty in white on the snowflakes and around on the card.

Enjoy your Snow Day today, if you have one. Stay warm and stay safe. Remember, it will be August before we know it!
