Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Easter Card

Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration Easter Card

Here's an Easter card made with some products from the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration Catalog. Easter is April 8th so you still have time for some handmade Easter cards!

With a $50 purchase from any of the Stampin' Up! catalogs, you can earn a free product from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog.  On this card I used my free Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper #126154, the matching ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack #127279, and even the Pool Party and Lucky Limeade In Color card stock #127713. All three items are free in the Sale-A-Bration catalog with a $50 purchase.

The Everyday Enchantment ribbon is really fun, so thin and sheer…and you can curl the ends with a scissors like you might do with regular gift-wrapping ribbon.

The Easter eggs are punched with the Extra-Large Oval Punch #119859. The Sahara Sand medallion is cut from the Perfect Pennants Die #123126. The little chick is punched from the Bird Builder Punch #117191 (with his tail cut off!).

Why not make a few Easter cards to send to your family and friends?

Sale-A-Bration ends on Saturday, March 31 so don't wait to place your order HERE.

Last Week for Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration: Petite Purse

Petite Purse Sale-A-Bration Paper

Something old and something new! This is the last week for Stampin' Up!'s biggest promotion, Sale-A-Bration, and I have used a piece of the Sale-A-Bration "Everyday Enchantment" Designer Series Paper #126154 on this NEW Petite Purse Die for the Big Shot, coming April 1st!

It's a cute little purse, perfect for parties and favors…and just a fun thing to make! Then embellish like crazy or leave it fairly plain….your choice! Besides adding a bit of designer paper on the top of the purse flap, I took some Poppy Parade card stock and punched a strip with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch #119275.  I cut the punched strip in half lengthwise so I could just use the scalloped edge, snipped it a little to get it to bend around the curve and glued under the purse flap.  Then I added a little Twitterpated Designer Button #125579 from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The purse handle comes with the die or you could make your own with some ribbon or another punch or something.

You'll have to wait until April for the Petite Purse Die but DON'T wait for Sale-A-Bration because that ends Saturday, March 31st.  Spend $50 in merchandise from any of the current Stampin' Up! catalogs and earn a free product of your choice from the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration Catalog! For every $50 you spend, you earn a free product, so there is no limit!  If nothing else, you might as well stock up on paper or adhesives or whatever basic supplies you use a lot so that you benefit by getting FREE merchandise.  You can add My Digital Studio downloads to your order as well, if you want (as long as you are ordering online).

Don't miss Sale-A-Bration! It is the biggest promotional event of the year for Stampin' Up! Get your order in by March 31st.  Order at my Online Store HERE or contact me with your order!

Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Everyday Enchantment Hello Card

Everyday Enchantment Hello Card

The Stampin' Up! promotion known as Sale-A-Bration is rapidly coming to an end, but here is a card I made with the Sale-A-Bration Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper.

Sale-A-Bration is Stampin' Up!'s biggest event of the year and only lasts until March 31st!  With a $50 purchase, you may earn a free product from the special Sale-a-Bration Catalog. If you order Online, after you put in your $50 worth of items (or more!), then add your Sale-A-Bration items to your order….one for every $50 you spend!

When I see this patterned paper I always think it is Real Red and I LOVE red…..but it is Poppy Parade!  Still love it anyway!!  The card base is Poppy Parade with a layer of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper.  The stamped flower and little border-type stamp is from the Sale-A-Bration set Fresh Vintage.  Notice the little piece of scalloped Everyday Enchantment DSP right under the flower layer piece.  The "Hello" is a greeting from the stamp set Elementary Elegance, also in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.  You could choose either of these stamp sets for FREE with a $50 purchase! But if you're more of a ribbons and brads girl, just choose the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack to coordinate with the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper. I used two on the Hello label, which is punched with the Decorative Label Punch #120907.

First Day of Spring! Summer Smooches Butterfly Card

Summer Smooches Butterfly Card

Today may be the first day of spring, but it was a dark and stormy morning here in Houston. However, I think this Summer Smooches Butterfly card would brighten up anyone's day!  Summer Smooches is the new set of products coming out from Stampin' Up! in April (which is SOON!), a sneak peek of the new Stampin' Up! Catalog.  I love the bright colors in this Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper and the lovely Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon…..and you will, too, when you can purchase these products and more on April 1st.

The butterflies are punched with the Butterfly Punch #119848 and the paper is the new Summer Smooches.

Summer Smooches Butterfly Card Inside

And here is the inside of the card, stamped with a cute image from the new, upcoming stamp set Bright Blossoms. I used different Stampin' Write Markers to color the stem and various flowers.  So cute!!

Hope you are having a beautiful First Day of Spring Day!

3×3 Everyday Enchantment Thank You Card

Everyday Enchantment 3x3 Thank You Card

If you need just a small little note card or thank you card, this 3"x 3" notecard is just perfect.  They are so fun to make.  And easy enough to put a piece of designer paper for the background and punch a matching flower from the new Blossom Punch #125603 in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The background paper is Everyday Enchantment, which you can earn for free with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration, which ends March 31st. The "Kind Thanks" is from Thank You Kindly #111700.

Be sure you place your Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration order before the deadline!

Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Everyday Enchantment Paper

Stampin' Up! has lots of wonderful products in it's 2012 Sale-a-Bration Catalog that you can earn for free with a $50 order, but I have to say (and a lot of other people say too!) that my favorite is the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper. Nothing is as good as seeing it in person, but maybe you can get a good idea of the look of this paper from these photos I took.

St. Patrick’s Day Punch Art Leprechaun Card

St. Patrick's Day Punch Art Leprechaun Card

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Here's a little punch art leprechaun on a St. Patrick's Day card that you can make for fun!  The leprechaun certainly wasn't my creation, but I saw it on display at Stampin' Up! Leadership and thought he was so cute! If you notice some new designer series paper on the card, it is from the new Summer Smooches, which is going to be a sneak peek of new products in the upcoming Stampin' Up! Catalog….and as demonstrators, we get to preorder certain new things! You will get that chance April 1st!

You can make the leprechaun with these punches:

Face: Ornament Punch, 1/2" circle punch for nose, ears and eyes; 1/4" punch for black eyeballs with little white gel pen highlights

Beard: Scallop Circle Punch  Mustache: Heart Punch

Hat: Large oval punch (cut in half), Word Window Punch, Flower: Blossom Punch

Make a St. Patrick’s Day Paper Pin

St. Pats Pin

If you want to make a St. Patrick's Day pin to wear on St. Patrick's Day March 17th, just get out your Full Heart Punch and some paper! I punched six hearts out of Old Olive card stock and three out of green designer paper and glued them onto a circle of Old Olive on the back.  The stem is just hand cut.  To jazz it up a little and add a greeting, I used the stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes (talk about a versatile stamp set!!) and inked up the words separately with a Stampin' Write Marker, punched it out with the 1" Circle Punch and then a 1 1/4" Circle Punch layer of Old Olive. But for a little bling, I added some Champagne Gold Glass Glitter around the edge. Put a pin on the back from the craft store and you're good to go with some green to wear on St. Pat's.

For any stamping and crafting supplies, please visit my Stampin' Up! Online Store HERE.  Be sure to check the Clearance Rack if you are ordering online!

Are You Hungry For Some Cookies?

Stampin' Up! Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps

Are you hungry for some good homemade cookies?  With the recipes enclosed in the Stampin' Up! Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps, you can bake a delicious cookie and have fun stamping at the same time….the dough, that is! Stampin' Up! tells you how to bake cookies that work well with the Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps…..shortbread works well to hold the design of the cookie stamp.

And after you bake some cookies, you might like to share a few….and we all know presentation is everything!  Here are some ideas from the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference displays!

Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps Kraft Gift Box

These Kraft Gift Boxes are found in the Occasions Mini along with the Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps.  What a cute idea to add the Paper Doily as part of the gift-wrapping!  And then you can decorate the Kraft Gift Box any way you would like!

Be sure to check the Occasions Mini Catalog for these wonderful products!

Stampin’ Up! San Antonio Regional Teabag and Cookie Holder

The next day after the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference ended, Stampin' Up! held a Regional Event for a day.  One of my favorite projects (and there were many!) was this Teabag and Cookie Holder demonstrated by Debi Pippin, a very talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. We could wander from one demonstrator booth to another watching a new project or idea and taking pictures of their samples on display.

Teabag and Cookie Holder

Don't you just love this project made with the cute Sweet Shop Specialty Designer Series Paper #125408 plus the Sweet Shop Designer Stickers #125584?!

By the way, the cookies I put in the holder are Girl Scout Thin Mints, in honor of the Girl Scout 100th Birthday today! The Girl Scouts were founded by Juliette Low in 1912.

Teabag and Cookie Holder Side

The way I saw it demonstrated, she put the bag of cookies in the middle area of the bag with a tea bag on each side in the pouches.  You could do it however you like….maybe a bag of candy in the center?!

I just thought it was the cutest idea with so many possibilites!  What a nice little gift for someone!

Daylight Savings Time: Did You Change Your Clocks?

Daylight Savings Time Postcard in My Digital Studio

It's Daylight Savings Time! Did you remember to change your clocks today? "Spring forward" an hour! And they often recommend to check your smoke alarm batteries when you change your clocks.

I know Daylight time is earlier nowadays than it used to be, so I was surprised to hear it was starting this weekend already.  But it makes us think spring is coming soon!

I made this little reminder postcard in My Digital Studio. So fun!

Houston’s River Oaks Garden Club Azalea Home and Garden Tour

This is the big weekend for the annual River Oaks Garden Club Azalea Trail in Houston. Unfortunately, the weather is a little iffy but I hope there is more cloudiness than rain for the weekend so everyone can see the beautiful homes and gardens. Sometimes you just tour the garden and sometimes you get to walk through the house to get to the yard and garden in back….that's my favorite part, to see the inside of the private homes!  The Garden Club makes beautiful floral arrangements inside all the rooms in the house that you get to see and you often can get decorating ideas or just enjoy the lovely homes.

Our home is not on the Azalea Trail, but we do have blooming azaleas!

St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Treat Bag

St. Patrick's Day Treat Bag

Are you looking for a St. Patrick's Day shamrock treat bag idea? This one was easy to make with the new Stampin' Up! Labels Collection Framelits Dies #125598 and the Small Heart Punch #117193. I used the Framelits Die to cut the Pear Pizzazz label and folded it in half to cover the small cello bag. Then I used the next smaller size Framelit Die to cut the Whisper White card stock and stamped with a greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

The shamrock is made with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies #125599, the smallest heart, cut out of the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper #125406 and then smaller hearts from the Small Heart Punch. The Designer Printed Brad #122940 adds a cute decorative touch!

If you need any of these new fun dies to use with your Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine for future projects, you can order online at my Stampin' Up! Store.

My Digital Studio Calendar

Karen's Calendar 2012-010

Images copyright Stampin' Up! 2012

Here is a page from my My Digital Studio calendar. These are photos from our yard last year.  I simply chose a design in the Photo Layout section of My Digital Studio and plunked my photos into the boxes. I chose a background paper and added the stamps (branches) to the page, plus some text.  I love how this page turned out!  My Digital Studio can be as simple or as involved as you want it to be. If I wanted, I could play around with more embellishments or borders or colors or anything and make the page even "jazzier"….and then if I didn't like it, I could just delete those items.  The ease of changing any element in this program is its greatest strength, I think.

If you want to try it out, take the free 30-day trial of My Digital Studio Express!  Make all the projects you want during that time and see if you don't end up loving My Digital Studio! It's not only about scrapbooking!

By the way, the River Oaks Azalea Trail Home & Garden Tour is this weekend in Houston, March 9 – 12.. This has been a tradition every year with us and we always enjoy it.  My favorite part is getting to go inside some of the beautiful homes!  Sometimes you just see the gardens. The weather forecast, though, is for a rainy weekend…so sad!  But if that turns out to be wrong, be sure to head over and see the stops on the Azalea Trail!
